@royallly She/he said they loved Cristina and Burke's relationship, so I don't think there is need to explain to her/him why they were good. But one thing is to have liked them and other thing is to be blind, Burke tried to change Cristina, and that's not true love. And I don't think they are constantly talking about Burke and bringing him down, in fact THIS is the ONLY scene where these two chaarcters have talked about him, just one scene in 4 seasons.

Omg it really annoys me that she says she loved him more than Burke. Her and Burke went through so much together and even though he was changing her she was becoming a better person for it. Plus Burke loved her unconditionally throughout everything they had chemistry!!! And his vows to her were out of love. And at the end when she realizes that Burke is gone she says she is free but realizes that it cost her Burke who she really wanted. If he were to come back now I wouldn't doubt nothing would

But you and i know better that the love was so real between Burke and christina much more fun than this new one. We got to see them develope and that was special. they say christina changed for burke but look at her now needy and clingy she changed a whole lot for Owen and i don't like that i miss the old christina.

@royallly Cristina has also been thru a lot since her Burke days. Having a gunman hold a gun to her face, suffered the loss of George, and the speech Meredith gave her about life being short in the season 5 finale. Cristina Yang has changed, but it was on her terms and due to circumstances in her life. She wasn't adjusting to another. Yes, her and Owen are a much 'darker' couple due to his Vet-status, but that doesnt make their love any less real. In fact, I think it makes it moreso.

Burkes relationship with Cristina was solidified when she lied for him and scrubbed in on his surgeries. He needed her, far more than she needed him & when he won the Harper Avery award & never mentioned her, it revealed to Cristina that Burke's love for her was nothing more than for her hands. She was free of feeling guilty, of feeling obligated and entering a loveless marriage

@JerryO89 First of all Burke wasn't the one who came up with the idea christina did she told him it could work he didn't force her. Burke was already great whats the big deal about this avery award i think he contributed more to christina than she did him he loved her no question about that, i love christina but i think people give burke such a hard time and he doesn't deserve it. Burke didn't know christina wanted to get married he thought she was only doing it for him that's why he left her.

@royallly What Jerry meant to say was that Cristina had taken a huge risk for her career to help Burke. And what hurt her most was when Burke got the Harper Avery Award, he did not even mention her in it. Even though it was her idea, Cristina gambled her career (something she valued more than life itself) to help the man she loved. It was probably the most noble thing she has ever done. ANd I'm not badmouthing Burke; IMO, he made Cristina grow into a much better person.

to be fair, cristina isn't lying, i do think burke tried to mould her into something, like they were never quite equals, it was always subtle comments, for example, when cristina was freaking out coz she couldn't find meredith and needed to tell her they were engaged, he was so cold and dismissive about it, he just left her there like "i'm done" wtf? BUT they were a nice couple, i just wouldn't have liked cristina as much as i do now, she wouldn't have to confidence to be the surgeon she is now

@bluelockandkey I so agree with you. i mean Burke was a great guy he loved Christina and even though he was a bit controlling it was never to hurt her but make her a better person and here they try to make him out to be the bad guy. That is so unfair and they try to make what burke and christina had nothing but i wont buy that for burke and christina's relationship was the most natural one i've seen yet and i will always believe in that couple even though its over love Preston Burke.

I can relate to Cristina's character sometimes. I went through something similar that she did when she was with Burke. I dated a guy who took little pieces away from me, and I didn't notice at the time. I let him break me bit by bit and let him turn me into what he wanted me to be. It took him dumping me to make me realize it, and since then, I've felt so free. And I've found an Owen. I found a man I cana be myself with. He's never tried to change me or control me, and I love him so much.

In the famous "I am Preston Burke" speech, Burke said he loved her and "what is the matter with you that you won't let me?" Owen says basically the same thing, "I am trying to love you. Why won't you let me?" This seems to be a pattern for Cristina.

@ALLthingsTV242 Burke and Cristina had some lighter scenes together because they don't have as much angst as Cristina and Owen, like dancing and going out on a date. Go to CristinaMDGA's channel and look at their scenes in season 1 and 2. There are quite a few parallels in Cristina's relationships, you will notice them.

I agree with her to a point...after the whole TR thing they started writing burke a bit differently as if to make us not miss him when he left and yes then he took pieces of her...but their original relationship was more a battle of wills (refusing to talk first; that really funny one where she holds his scrub cap hostage) so i agree overall but i wish they hadnt change burke's character

@Liz86000 I completely agree. Christina and Preston were okay together, but there was no real chemistry. I know she loved him, but he didn't really accept her for her. But with Owen, she can be herself, and there's real chemistry between the two. And she can be herself with him. They're the perfect couple.
