Planets are round because of gravity. Not saying there isn't a god, maybe god made the laws of physics Idk. I'm not audacious enough to pretend I know in either way.
now how will you explain the existence of protein which is the main component of living organism such as bacteria in that molten world?...the symbiotic relationship between human and plants?..do you believe that big bang and evolution theory is true?...if big bang was an accident, how come planets are round?...that's because there is a designer of this existing universe..there is a creator...and a very intelligent creator..His knowledge is way beyond than ours for us to understand. :)
Does anyone know why they insisted on doing the quick-change thing? It ruined the show for me. Not only does it break the pseudo-documentary mood (and introduce blatant pro-vertebrate bias); it destroys sympathy for the animals to suggest that they're only important as links in a chain, not for themselves. Plus, the image itself is wrong: evolution doesn't mean that one species *becomes* another, it means that it *gives birth to* another.
When i see this then i dont understand why so many people still want to believe in fairie tales about Adam and Eve, I mean the arguments that they come up with stand no ground against proving that what you have found in acctual Layers of rock that make up the earth , i mean its the same concept as a Three and her inner rings of age, and even the different races of men prove that Nature or "God" Drives our excistance into an Evolution.
I believe the earth was created and this was one of gods way of creating thing... how can people be so closed minded, believing the word it self is a little bit different than believing the concept of the paragraph!
We watched this in science but she skipped parts we loved it in walking with monsters we were getting over excited on the animals and we watched walking with beasts and we added commentary it was fun!
@ElectricPyroclast they talk a little about it as i recall (a VERY little.. things like air quality and percent of gasses and kinds of plants and surface temperature.) But.. yeah. I wanted to know more about that and the geology too
I like this series just, the time spent in the different eras is shorter and they dont show as many animals as walking with dinosaurs or beasts, other than that it's my favorite one of the series
@grey9438 i think they just don't know as much about these ancient animals as they do about dinos and beasts. But they could have speculated a LITTLE more..
@MusicMan53100 What? Damn I should stop arguying with religious people, sheep all of em. They could be looking at all the evidence in the world, and still cling to this God, while ignoring everything else.
You know why people are Atheist? We don't like to look for simple answers like: God did it.
We want to know how this world works, and how we came to be. Show me evidence of Gods existance and I'll gladly become religious.
I don't believe so, at that point the newly made Earth was basically a surface of lava. It is widely accepted that after it cooled to a closer temperature to what it is now, it then became hospitable by species.
@nathaniel9897 Again, this is only what I have been taught but it is believed that the extremes of lightning, with the highly focused energy allowed molecules to form that would have been almost impossible under normal conditions because of the energy needed to combine them. This is the 'spark' of life if you will call it that. These new molecules and the conditions of Earth eventually led to extremely basic forms of life.
What a magnificent series this is. I loved it since I first saw it several years ago. I created my own one minute voice over movie slide about dinosaurs. If you have a chance, please check it out and tell me what you think. I'm trying to become a narrator.
They should've showed something from the ediacara period to show what was before the cambrian explosion, however, this is the best series of this one, walking with dinosaurs and walking with beasts.
@princeofthegodseuphr eh... funny comment but it's an older doc and some of the facts presented here have since been speculated. Plus.. it's a sweeping look at evolution and rather vague. Perhaps they're TOO educated to enjoy it? My sister is an evolutionary biologist and she says this series is great for kids and non-biologists but rather irritating for her to watch because it glosses over a lot
but... I fall into the unwashed masses too. I'm a lowly software enginner. I LOVE this movie.
Still going these guys did a great job on this series and is clearly my favorite of them all. It reminds me of Spore in a way and i really enjoy these types of series that explain evolution!
if i had a time machine or at the very least a time window to see these animals in action not just there skeletons but the problem is im only 15 and havent seen a real fossil animal besides a tylosaurus and mammuthus and a dromeosaur skeleton in north dakota i guess north dakota isnt as interesting as national fossil finds
@Destro7000 2 million years later... Our heroes, the cyanobacteria, evolved a way to use light to generate ATP and to fuel the synthesis of complex carbon based biomolecules while the antagonists learned how to use nitrogen based molecules to respire organic material in oxygen depleted soils.
@Huskiadda13 look it up. You're evolved from a Eukaryote, Prokaryotes are an earlier, less complex version. Wikipedia will tell you. Also, don't use swearing as an insult, it just makes you appear violent.
@Destro7000 I intend upon writing a story of this documentary that actually visits the beginnings of life, with Prokaryotes included...so that dream may well become a reality...XD

@LizzieLuvsMusic683 this has nothing to do with big bang this happend long after, theyre telling how earth became what it is now not how the universe was created
@LizzieLuvsMusic683 The big bang didn't create the earth, the big bang happened billions of years before. It set the stage for the development of matter that makes up everything today in our universe. The Bible was written hundred and hundred of years before science came about, so of course it wouldn't have any sort of information on the things science knows now, because there wasn't a mechanism to study and scrutinize our reality, so people back then had to find a way to fill in the blanks.
@S0XF0X ok im not open for religious debate right now, but are you suggesting that the bible is full of crap? hey believe what you want, but dont go smacking my beliefs.
@LizzieLuvsMusic683 I wasn't smacking your beliefs, I'm was just pointing out facts. You can believe in whatever you want, but if you're going to have faith in something that falls apart under a skeptical scope, you should be prepared to hear about it. I respect your freedom to believe in what you believe, but that doesn't mean I have to respect the belief itself, and you don't have to respect mine. Open discussion on other views allows society to grow, so don't shut others, or yourself, up.
@zapryan99 thank you! for once someone agrees with me :)
im sorry for being horrible to you religious people, but you have absolutely NO PROOF of god making the planet we are killing! whereas scientists have proof! etc
The makers of the documentary Walking With Monsters suggested that Cephalaspis, or one of its relatives was an ancestor to jawed fish and other gnathostomes.
However, Cephalaspis belongs to the Osteostraci, a group which is widely believed to be the sister group to all jawed vertebrates [1]. So whilst Cephalaspis was not a direct ancestor of the jawed vertebrates, Cephalaspis and jawed vertebrates nevertheless shared a common ancestor.
@aronchai They were one of the first species to feature a primitive backbone, which humans possess aswell. It's there, in the sea, where it all started ... even us
@ColdSideOfPillow136 Probably some other fish that lived at the same time as Cephalaspis but was less specialized, i.e, its head wasn't encased in a bony box that made it vulnerable to predation in the long run (by slowing it down). Our fish ancestor may have been sort of like Cephalaspis, but to show Cephalaspis itself evolving directly into the first tetrapod is misleading.
I still love the Walking With series, but as entertainment rather than strict fact.
YEC's are either stupid or just ignorant, which as Richard dawkins says can be remedied although I think the man is an idiot myself though.

I respect your freedom to believe in what you believe, but that doesn't mean I have to respect the belief itself, and you don't have to respect mine. Open discussion on other views allows society to grow, so don't shut others, or yourself, up.

"Cephalaspis and jawed vertebrates nevertheless shared a common ancestor."
Any two organisms share a common ancestor, dude.

While this series has great graphics, they made a lot of stupid mistakes...for example, having our ancestors be cephalaspis, what the fuck?
aronchai 1 year ago
@aronchai They were one of the first species to feature a primitive backbone, which humans possess aswell. It's there, in the sea, where it all started ... even us
YouEV 1 year ago
@YouEV Yeah, but I doubt a specialized fish like cephalaspis is our ancestor.
aronchai 1 year ago
@aronchai Hmmm. . . well then, what are our ancestors? Water? Dirt? Anomalocaris?
ColdSideOfPillow136 1 year ago
@ColdSideOfPillow136 Probably some other fish that lived at the same time as Cephalaspis but was less specialized, i.e, its head wasn't encased in a bony box that made it vulnerable to predation in the long run (by slowing it down). Our fish ancestor may have been sort of like Cephalaspis, but to show Cephalaspis itself evolving directly into the first tetrapod is misleading.
I still love the Walking With series, but as entertainment rather than strict fact.
