  • OH MY GOD!

  • I use to skip school to come home to watch thismshow

  • Whoop! Whoop! Whoooooop! *Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding* Whoop! Whoop! Whoooooop! (Gotta love TPIR winning horn) Lol.

  • i think the real reason they stopped airing these thursday night prime time specials was because bob got mugged too many times by excited contestants....

  • Excellent quality! Worlds better than my copy of this episode...

  • bob has a new girl friend

  • Samoans + Bob Barker = EPIC WIN!

  • Side note: Look at the awesome lights... just saying.

  • Hey, don't forget in 1986 CBS has a limit set of $50,000 even on nighttime shows.

  • That Bob Barker was one HANDSOME STUD in his YOUNGER DAYS.!!!!!!! HOT DAMNNNNNNNNNNNN.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing how much younger Bob looked 24 years ago...

  • i love hearing those clangs and whoops :-)

  • This lady went haywire. I thought she was going to kill Bob with that hug she gave him!!

    -Matt

  • @Matto2t, you damn right!!! I LOVE it when this kinds stuff happens!

  • What does mussing mean?

  • MUSSING, you don't hear that word these days.

  • Was this the first time they abbreiviated the DIG WE MUST when she won $10,000?

  • By 1986, he was using 'Just for Men'... didn't realize how much $10,000 was worth back then for all the klaxons and buzzing noise either... :)

  • Do you have the entire showcase showdown from that episode? I have always love the big wheel part of the show.

  • I bet Bob cracks up looking back at these moments.

  • This is the only dollar hit in the bonus spin for a nighttime special, is it not?

  • an a 11,000 daller somemoeoie.

  • Did she win her showcase?

  • Unfortunately, no. She didn't win her pricing game, either.

  • I really don't think Velma minds. I mean, winning your IUFB plus $11,000 would be very nice, even if I lost my pricing game and showcase.

Be nice if Velma did win her showcase, though.

  • Ironically enough pannoni1 for season 37 of PIR they will raise the stakes of the wheel if you get the dollar. $10K for the two green sections, $25K for landing on the dollar.

  • i think thats stupid why they're changing it, everybody's known it as $11,000 for all these years and know it's $26,000 it doesn't have quite the ring to it

  • They are raising it because the same old doesn't work for 30 years. Especially with other game shows like Wheel of Fortune adapting to the times... adding a Million dollar wedge and in the bonus wheel.

  • Are they changing the $1,000 for the first dollar and the $5,000 for the green sections too? If you want it to "sound better", maybe make the first dollar $5K, the green sections $6K and the second dollar $25K. That way, they win $5,000, $11,000(!) or $31,000.

  • Times are changing $10K is great and all but winning somewhere between $11K - $26K is great. Besides that type of money is great for the daytime version. When PIR returns to do the $1,000,000 specials the range is good for someone to win big. $5K for the one dollar. In the bonus spin $25K in the green for $30K total. $50K on the dollar for $55K total. That's what makes it fun as you pull for someone to make the most of that chance.

  • The should have raised it to $25,000 for the nighttime special.

  • Imagine her reaction if she won that.

  • lol bob is so young

  • Sorry, everybody; this is an edit from my last comment:

I LOVE THIS CLIP! Velma looks more African American than Hispanic to me. At first I thought her name was either Alma or Thelma because I couldn't see her name tag clearly. But even though she lost the van in One Away, and the Showcase, she still won $11,000and the IUFB that got her up onstage, so that isn't bad.

  • @amez4life

    Amen!

  • @amez4life

Maybe she could buy the van with that $11,000.

  • I LOVE THIS CLIP! Velma looks more African American woman than Hispanic to me. At first I thought her name was either Alma or Thelma because I couldn't see her name tag clearly. But even thoug she lost the van in One Away, and the Showcase, she still won $11,000 and the IUFB that got her up onstage, so that isn't bad.

  • The clang clangs sounded more like fireman bells.

  • Who knows what she might've done to Bob if she won Both Showcases

  • This is probably why Bob's hair changed a year later LOL.

  • No one else has gotten a dollar in the bonus spin in since then in TPIR Primetime shows. 22 years and counting.

  • I remember this TPIR moment.

  • Two years later, the current gold slanted dollar signs debuted on the red walls, replacing the pink "pricedown" dollar signs.

  • THREE consolation prizes? In recent years, it's just been two.

A bed comforter, a card table and chairs, and an inlatable raft... wow. Real nice prizes. *rolls eyes* "Quit playin' with your dinghy!"

  • was this the first ever successful bonus spin

  • hardly. the bonus spin was introduced in either late 1978 or early 1979 and this video is from 1986.

  • i know this is from 86 because its the specials

  • Bob Barker got to bone all those blonde broads. I love alliteration.

  • I believe that all this *RIP Bob Barker* is meaning *Retirement in Peace*.

  • I agree with you about the spilt screen shot! I wish they kept it on the episodes nowadays.

  • I think they kinda brought it back with the new episodes. its basically an up-and-down kind of split screen.

  • i remember that too. it was also parodied when Two Stupid Dogs parodied TPIR.

  • My best advice would be to flag BeijingOlympics as a spammer...I think a reprimand from YT might help him get the message.

  • Agreed. Ignore him everyone. DONT FEED THE TROLLS. It only helps get bigger

  • It's amazing he has enough time on his hands to basically mark all TPIR videos on here.

  • Man, why did they kill off that split screen shot? That ruled!

  • Because they wanted to use just a shot of the wheel. The split-screen graphic was brought back in November 2007, only different, and is implemented on every contestant's first spin. One half shows the contestant and Drew Carey, and the other half shows the spinning wheel, without the arrow used previously. Before that, it was used on CBS' Game Show Marathon, except the outline of the arrow was green instead of red, and the background was clear instead of black.

  • Bob is the bomb. I love this show. Who's taking over?

It'll never be the same. (sigh)

  • BeijingOylmpics, I'm Calling u out!!! Bob Barker isn't effin dead, I'll give u all the proof in the world

  • Hilarious!

  • Yo... whoever said Barker is/was dead... dude, you need to get a clue and learn about respect. For real. Kelly out! Only Love!

RTFO - rock the FUNK on!

    ~JK~

  • Your stupid. Bob is NOT dead!! He has only retired to work more animal rights. Bob will probably outlive you!

  • hey dickhead, stop goin around on every PIR video and saying

bob is dead, get a life you worthless piece of shit

  • Was Rod still doing PYL the same time the '86 Special aired, or was PYL gone at this point in 1986? Speaking of PYL, the whooping sound and bells can also be heard on the 1st and 3rd Home Player Spin sweepstakes during the 1st and 3rd seasons of PYL

  • I believe by the time this show aired PYL was already done.

  • PYL was still on CBS in reruns, but taping on PYL had stopped by this time yes and Rod had not been permanent announcer long as well by this time.

  • It should have been a $10 million bonus spin! Or maybe a $1 billion spin!

  • She's Hispanic, I believe. Her name is Velma Mayo, from the 1986 special. She just lost a van in One Away. She goes to the showcase, but goes over. Her opponent won a motorhome.

  • I love that old flashing graphic. That one in my opinion was the best.

  • Is she a Samoan? She looks like one to me.

  • I belive so. This same lady was featured in a pack of clips with Samoans during the shows 25th anniversary

  • looking for your mother ?

  • $10,000 was a lot in 1986, that's why the lady got so excited.

  • what an idiot... no wonder Bob backs away nowadays. i also dont know why they get so excited.. they have to give half to the IRS anyways.

  • Stop hatin. LOL Like Godzillaman said, $10K was a lot back in '86 and even if half went to the IRS it was still pretty decent back then. Bob's been through worse than that anyway, that was nothing. It's not just the money, it's the whole experience of being there and winning money from Bob and the audience cheering and everything. Americana at it's best. Bob will be sorely missed.
