  • wow! what a dipshit host. "obviously they hate christianity". he probably thought "hey, the mohammed caricatur was really nice!"

  • FYI representatives for the insurgent were invited to participate in the discussion, but they declined on the basis that they were to stoned to get in a car at 9am.

  • I have zero respect for any body who is offensive for the sake of being offensive, and zero respect for any one who would support those offensive actions regardless of whether their actions were legal. You are what is wrong with our world. Period. Stop it.

  • Not everyone has the same attitude on what is and isn't offensive.

Accusing people who disagree iwth you of being mindless anarchissts who want to set things on fire, for one, is a pretty offensive and ignorant thing to say.

  • No it's not, and really your going to use the ol' "they not not what they do" argument...?

  • Yes, it is ignorant and offensive.

It amounts to you refusing to acknowledge other people's points of view, or interpretations of what is and isn't acceptable.

It's important to understand that there is a difference between trolling, and simply not having a popular view or lack of tact.

Telling people they are wrong because they are wrong is dumb, no matter what your motivation is.

  • Goatmon. You are wrong... get over it. PS it doesn't make you smart if you word your poor argument intelligently. You still have a wrong way of looking at things. You need to accept that you aren't right about everything.

  • Look man, I'm never claimed to be right about everything. Don't try to paint me out to be some left-leaning wingnut who only sees his own side of things. I get that you have a more Christian-oriented view on the world than I do, and I'm glad that you are comfortable with that.

Faith helped me to make some amazing progress and I find myself going places I never imagined possible, so I am not at all arguing with you about the importance of Christ or faith in general. (continued in next post)

  • (continued from last comment)

But not everyone else shares this outlook on life, and it's not okay to impose your perspective on other people the way you're going at it. No amount of pressure or Bible-based logic is going to make people see the world like you do if they just don't have the right personality.

That right there is just ignorant and silly and it just makes you look bad, and does no service for you or the faith that you represent. Black and white vision is no good, man. :(

  • Also, you can keep telling me I'm wrong, but if you have much reason to disagree with me other than you think I'm wrong, you should probably have more to say than "No, you're wrong" over and over.

  • You know everyone who is arguing against my point of view... Just be glad we didn't do things your way, and flood the streets in gas masks to light things on fire because we're upset. We were offended and handled the situation like adults which is more than you can say for liberal and anarchist rioters who behave like two year olds when they are angry.

  • So, everyone who disagrees with you is probably cool with lighting the world on fire?

That's an awfully hateful thing to say. Worse, you're forgetting Matthew 7:1

'Do not judge, or you too will be judged.'

If you can't handle people having different opinions from your own without growling and sparking arguments about a post that's at least 2 years old, you probably need to brush up on your people skills, man.

Nobody ever got anywhere grumbling at people being dumb on the internet.

  • Thank you Goatmon... I am reborn with your words. How ever did you become so enlightened?

I was merely pointing out an error of logic...

  • O'Reilly obviously does not live in oregon.

  • O'Reilly obviously dosen't know that Euegne is the home of every other anarchist group in the nation

  • i love you Jed, Jethro Higgins is my Youth Minister at St. Mary's Catholic Church, and i am very proud of him for standing up and saying something about these stupid cartoons, the person that made these is a moron, and needs to get a life, and for all of you that support these cartoons, and dont care about this, are just as rediculous as the idiots that created them.

    I WILL PRAY FOR YOU

  • Wow... O'Reilly's kind of a dick, isn't he?

  • he is!

  • yes, a agree. Freedom of speech is racism, fascism, communism, libertarianism, the democrat platform and the democratic platform in the US.

If the image of Christ hurt people's feelings, tough shit. If they put picture of Mohammad on the paper that bothered people, tough shit. And, YES, if it was an image of a black man or woman hanging on a noose, tough fucking shit....WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR !

Print your own paper...but keep it real.

  • Good job Jethro. I wrote a letter to the barometer at OSU when hatemongers starting supporting The Insurgent through their own letters. Good to see the strong, smarter, wiser side represented on O'Reilly. People should not be so naive and duplicitous when it comes to tolerance and diversity, with liberal xenophobic fascists ostracizing Christian ideologies. Fronmayer should have been fired.

  • LOL why doesn't he just staple a bible to his forhead?

  • Frohnmayer is too afraid to appear? Nazi and the KKK are not even close to what is being said. These people had/have beliefs that are far from ordinary. O'Reilly is putting his Christianity before others beliefs. Colleges around the U.S. can say what they believe is true. The president of the school needs to be fired for freedom of speech? Bullshit! People against Christianity in NOT HATE SPEECH. They have the right to say what they want and Christians do to!

  • Wow, gotta love the blatant cross. Yay God! Why yes, they should be put in jail. Religion is Government!

  • the old freedom of speech dodge lol

  • O'Reilly is a bag of douche. the coward didn't invite a representative of the Student Insurgent to speak. if he had, I imagine the representative would have pointed out that Christians aren't a repressed minority in our society (quite the contrary), and that lampooning a belief system is a far cry from suggesting that we should kill Jews and insulting the ethnic background of ethnic minorities.

  • they should be put in jail

  • sure...and let's start arresting all those goth kids and all of those people listening to Led Zeppelin backwards- you can't just throw people in jail because you disagree with their views- what happens when those dreaded "they" are in power- would it be OK to arrest your sorry ass?

  • its not cause of their views...its offensive, its slander, and its an attack on a religion...if it was off campus then maybe it would be ok because it is not forced into the minds of the student body because it is a fucking school news paper and you cant say freedom of speech bull shit because if they had a racist publication they would get in trouble.

  • ...wow- fored into the minds? What? people don't think for themselves anymore? Oh wait- I get it...since you think however the rich white upper-class want you to think you believe that everyone is kind of on that same lower intellectual strata. You seem to support religion. How about Satanists?- do you support their right to tax exempt status as an organized religion? Put your money where your mouth is.

  • when i say forced i dont mean that they must believe the bull shit that they see...im saying that they shouldnt have to open up their school news paper to see the slander...and actually i would support the satanists right to tax exempt status as an organized religion because i believe it is a religion...its up to them if they want to worship satan...but you dont see satan in a school news paper making out with a guy do you??

  • Racism is a freedom of speech.

  • Interesting that he compares this to supporting the Nazis and the KKK. Defiling the image of Jesus is not accable to many people, but it is only a belief system; it doesn't imply a threat or desired harm to any individual people. Supporting the KKK or the Nazis is to support the actions of organizations that have been known for violence, for murder. It's a whole other level and it's not appropriate to compare that to making a mockery of Christianity.

  • Very intelligent point.

  • A Christian named Jethro Higgins...yes they couldn't have picked a better individual to represent his people on national television.

  • Really? You are judging everyone who believes in Christ based on my name... Goatmon? You have proven yourself to be a failure at what you are trying to defend.

  • First of all, if you really are this fellow, and I really don't want to think you are because you're behaving like a common troll, then I do apologize for any offense.

Second, the comment was sarcastic; America is extremely prone to stereotyping, the name Jethro alone is associated heavily with redneck stereotypes. It was a remark at Fox News' poor choice in picking someone to represent Christians, not a judgement on CHristians. That would be kind of dumb since I'm also a Christian :P

  • So you were just saying that I am a poor example of a Christian? Gee... thanks love you too.

  • I was waiting for someone to post this
