  • imagine if you put one of his wind powered creations on neptune. then it would travel ridiculously fast.

  • I like the music too very calming

  • @jowsmith100 :) si son buenos esos muchachos

  • @TheLucytastic 3dmax 2009

  • Dude have an army of these terraform mars, hello red planet!

  • @ TheThoughtVacuum believe that in the future, these ideas may be applied ... I'm sure we will see them walking in cities and because ne mars!

  • @TheThoughtVacuum jejeejej

  • @TheThoughtVacuum Although if Mars was terraformed it would be goodbye red planet, hello second earth! lol

  • @HunterMann jansen!! jansen!!

  • nahhhh

  • How about you make it turn a small generator to make power so it can steer itself...

  • nice music.. any idea who play this music in the back ground?

    Thanks

  • @cash4sellers at end of the credits are not exactly remember the author sorry

  • I shall ride it into battle against the Wivels!

  • @jag9998 jajjajajaaj y eso que es?

  • It's pretty much perfect as a walking model goes, but it's totally impractical for anything else. No steering at all. He shows his other wind powered models walking down the beach, but he doesn't show them walking off into the water, or people having to go out and steer or turn them. Maybe he needs to make an amphibious model. They're still very cool to watch. :-)

  • @TheMrBlinx gosh your so clueless, there is an interview video with him demonstrating that they have a tubes that can detect water and cause it to change direction

  • @romainelettuce2 WHERE is it, know it all? HOW was anyone to know this from what was shown?

  • actually they do have sensors but there all mechanical and/or pnumatical, for example he has a tube hanging down that sucks in air and if it walks into the water it sucks in water causing some kind of mechanical sparkle magic that makes it go into reverse

  • Hold on, I can't see whats on top of it. Is that just decoration, or is it some kind of mechanism?

  • So many people keep using the same base design

  • I had a dream where cities moved like this like the city would be in the middle at the top and they move like this seasonally. Slowely so people can't really feel too much movement. Pretty interesting.

  • IS THAT A CITY ON TOP OF IT !?!?!

  • @RedRay81 jajjaaj if maybe the cities and should be moving and not in one place devour the ecosystem

  • Its more like steampunk then anything else, Clockwork even.

  • Animation.

  • To bad it cant turn yet :(

  • i agree this thing is very clever.. but all this talk of reinvention of walking.. and biology.. its just not there

  • STAR WARS

  • COOOOOOOLLLLLL...

  • the jansen is genious! :D

  • imagine if they made one of these bigger in the future...that would be awsome...o_o

  • Man, I would love to ride one of his wind-things...

  • This isn't a robot. It's windpowered, like all of his work.

It doesn't have any kind of sensors or any kind of electric circuit/

It doesn't use any kind of fuelel, it just moves when it catches even the slightest bit of wind. That's what makes it so amazing.

  • aaaaah... the description ain't English :/ that's unique crazy stuff :o

  • I hadn't thought about that, sorry.

I don't think in two seperate languages, they just sort of merge in my mind. XD

  • "Animation generated on the base of sculptor Theo Jansen's experimental models. This work's basic model is made with Naskadigital... Thanks to the Prof. Oswaldo Avila (of ?) ArtistaDigital."

  • @MissxIzzyxDBC

But because it can move on it's own makes it a robot, right? A robot doesn't necessarily need electrical power, sensors or a circuit. That's just how we make most robots.

  • @MissxIzzyxDBC Actually it does have 1 censor. Its just to make sure it doesnt wonder off into the ocean. its a little tube thing that sorta drags and if it sucks in water, the thing moves away.

  • He's not inventing walking, dumbass. Grab a dictionary and look up the definition of "invention."

  • There are so many things going on, it can keep your eyes buisy for hours! Coolio!

    Five star!

  • very cool love it

  • I think that Theo Jansen's works are beautiful for their simplicity. This one's been unnecessarily complicated by the CG Artist. Sorry.

  • @krzemianpl exactly what i was thinking

  • It can turn.

  • Theo Jansen is a genius, he invented the second wheel.. No one's saying that he's better than Da Vinci! Da Vinci didn't invent this, if he did, he would've probably wrote it down..

Jansen's mechanism is not an easy thing to think of before it was invented! ;)

  • Theo Jansen didn't make it for the sake of making a mechanism. He probably made it cause he wanted to

And, it can't turn? So? You're gonna ignore every other point about it?

  • Flaming you because I can't think of anything to say.

  • Theo Jansens machines are different, they can feel water on ther own, they have simple brains and they are windpowered.

  • Looks like some sort of agricultural robot, or maybe an aquacultural harvester-bot) Nice tune to btw, may I ask what it is?

  • º0º its like a scarab but only sideways its awesome!

  • how does it turn?

  • like a tank i think, one side goes forward and the other backward

  • how much does that cost i want it lol really i dooooo

  • that it cost?.

  • how much does it cost ? like money dollas stuff like that :D!

  • Its not real, LOL.

    This is a 3d animation.

  • i know that. oh and sorry about the double comment of the same thing question. but if it was real i would want it

  • Yes, but they do excist... in real life.

  • why it would be a war machine. if you shot down a couple of legs then its already destroyed. but it,s really cool to see it

  • and if you shot a tanks treads it wouldnt work

  • How does it turn?

  • @3dmaxter uhhhh...... *failed spanish 1* :(

  • @Zovex11 that was going to be my first question :P

  • it could be a war machine... That's probably what will happen in 10 years or so.

  • Or a Moonwalker. :))

  • Dont think so. The harness is too weak (no matter what kind of metal you use) and its highly sensitive to the terrain.

  • plus there is no wind on moon

  • Yeah i thought that was obvius. Quit insutling people on no grounds.

  • Why u think that I wanted to insult people?

  • Maaaybe because your using the word moron. *reads again*

Oh dam! Sorry thought it said moron not moon xD

    Sorry bout that.

  • hmm in the video i saw of it i saw 4 legs of 2 men so i don't know if it work just on wind alone

  • what?

  • jansen machines can only operate on flat ground, if there is an incline the feet hit the ground to short and it stalls

  • Another guy pointing out the obvious.

  • That's fine, since Holland is flat ;)

  • Wow. It moves beautifully.

  • This machine reminds me somehow old Power Rangers series lol.

  • woah! if theo jansen went big with his sand beasts, this is probably what would come out of it.

  • wow...the way it moves is sort of relaxing lol

  • Nice work, like the way it moves

  • Nasa should use this guy's idea to build their robots on the moon, but i am not so sure if there's any wind in other planet, sorry for my stupidity.

  • :-)....good idea.

  • well done! I'd love to see this built.

  • it already is built lmao

  • Animaris Rhinoceros is different, if that is what you were thinking of. If not, could you show me a video of the fully constructed version (with five front legs)?

  • Both the rendering and the beest are beaughtiful!

  • do i see it right? this animarus carries a whole city at his back?

  • the cities in movement looking for the last signs and feeding in the planet.

  • What?

  • ¿¿¿¿?????
