@TheBigBadWolf1100 Do you mean the Antikythera Mechanism? Thats tens of thousands years old. But the song is from this century though. I think not from this decade would be more accurate :)
BT always amazes me and by far have thought that this album is his best to date. The compositions are simply stunning and how they evolve and morph through it's natural progression is OUTSTANDING! Thanks for always being an innovator in the electronic music realm!
this is unbelivable. every inspiring electronic music artist should listen to this album over and over again and wash out all their preconceptions about what the genre SHOULD sound like. this song and everything else from TBU shatters everything I've come to expect from electronica.
For aspiring filmmakers, there's such an endless possibility to the story you could tell alone side this and other tracks by BT. The music is that good and open ended, makes me wanna pick up a video camera and start creating.
Beauty. Incarnate. I can't believe music this amazing even exists. Even after about ten repeats, I still cannot fracking believe it. The end made me climax.
@Chimerathon You want chills when you listen to music? In my online fanfiction novel FHD Remix: Three Worlds In One, I wrote that a cube from one of the worlds built a city for another, committing the details to the story nine days before encountering this video! The character in this video looks, walks, and dresses exactly like Yaiba, a major character in FHD Remix. (Difference: Yaiba's a haibane (Nihongo for ashfeather) with wings and a halo.)
@brewskhee I couldn't agree more. I can't stand Emotional Tech, it'll dang near make me puke. On the other hand, Never Once, er ... I mean Antikythera Mechanism, is my favorite song of all time (Never Once is my version, where the cube speaks; it's on my channel.)
I think This Binary Universe is the greatest album ever made, both audio and video wise, but I can't help but think that of all the songs in it, this one should have had a way batter video. Always thought it was a waste of epic climax just to see that girl walking around...
@spectralmerc I've heard this before, but when I encountered this video, I had a very strong bias: I had just written a story in an online novel about a cube creating a city, and this girl happens to be a dead ringer for a major character. Were it not for that, I'd probably agree with you.
Maybe he intended some message about the natural versus the unnatural (stuff people make/invent, which includes cities or societies). She starts out in a black and white barren wilderness, and the video ends in a jagged, complex, city-like storm of geometry. And to me, the city doesn't look too friendly.
@ElectroPulseExtreme How about it's unique? I'm not sure how the sections with Piano and a full orchestra qualify as 'ambient glitch' albeit I do understand what part you're talking about.
Must everything be catagorized? What about Ludovico Einaudi, does he produce 'classical' music?
@Defloch 1st: I made that comment almost a year ago. I love this song and it's my favorite by BT. 2nd: The sections with the piano and orchestra are looped and there are pieces added in the background after being compressed with the said orchestra section to hide itself. As for catagorization if you can't properly tag something so people can find and understand what something is then what use is you're argument anyways. If everything had the tag UNIQUE, then nothing would be unique at all.
@knieveljaja There's nothing even close to being like this album. Unfortunately, Ambient Glitch tends to be a genre for the breeding place of experimental musicians who make echoey noise instead of beautiful music like this song. Aphex Twin is one of the few good artists that are definitely closer to this album's style but even then his stuff isn't BT. AT's song: "Nannou" happens to be my favorite of his. It's a great piece and i'd recommend it to anyone.
@ElectroPulseExtreme thanks. i'll definitey check it out. i had heard of aphex twin before but didn't realize they were that diverse. all i had heard from them was that 'come to daddy' song and that is definitely not my style lol. but i'll give anyone a second chance
@ElectroPulseExtreme Always good to see fellow Aphex Twin fans, were far and few between I'm afraid. Richard James work that best resonates to me is his ambient works vol. I and II.
