Q&A: Windows 7 vs Windows XP Home On Netbooks

i have an Acer Aspire One notebook that is supposedly designed for windows 7 yet it takes 5 minutes to load at the load screen and then and extra 3 minutes to load the drivers and services, i install vista and proformance was worse and slower, then i tried xp and computer runs 8x's faster... XP is better. i had a no mercy mod for pj64 tthat would never run right or at all, but works fine in xp. xp is better for internet, gaming, and everything, mircosft blinded you idiots

I have 2 computers my 8 year old dell desktop with windows xp a 260gig harddrive and 3gb of memory in the 8 years it hasen't crashed once i also have a acer aspire one with windows 7 starter 160gigs of harddrive and 1gig or ram i like my netbook its something i can use while i lay in bed or go to my parents but the OS i like is Windows XP Service Pack 3 i know my dell like the back of my own hand XP is better than 7 IMO

a HD5850 gaming card will always do better then a HD3850 even if the HD5850 is in a windows 98 OS

it would still have better graphics then windows 7 with HD3850!

@klote2314 My computer is up-to-date, custom built and I still prefer windows xp over any other. I didn't say windows 7 was a terrible os, I have both. I simply expressed my feelings about windows xp. Sometimes old shit is better than new shit. I'm one of those guys who doesn't like change. I don't like the word "new". As long as windows xp is out there, I'm sticking with it.

@EternalOnslaught Battery life. Windows 7 can do a lot of stuff and its very secure but its the eye candy that makes people love it. Windows XP is fast as hell but it looks ugly (luna theme) but if you can tolerate that then go for XP.

hi. i have an acer aspire one d150 netbook. it came with windows xp home and 1 gb ram. i liked how it ran for such a small pc. but i needed more memory. so i upgraded my ram to 2gb. then i installed windows 7 ultimate on it. and oh my god. best thing i could do. it runs like a dream. even better then xp. aero and everything works. in fact i am shocked at how well it works. and i had no driver issues.

I check all versions of win 7, My opinion is, the only version that can race with xp is the limitated Starter, but I sink that the home basic is nice a little more heavy than xp, and the more complet home premier is very cool but more heavy than basic versions.

botom line back ur files on another hardrive programs and all

your files it should save them as long as you upgrading but if you install a fresh copy screwed if you mess up eiter way backing up aint goin to help when ur system files are copy over because the hardrive will be wiped if the setup messes up or you copy a new version but if you upgrade and the setup meeses up ur still screwed if the setup doesnt mess up and ur just upgrading should have a ll your files
