How many standard cossies do you see nowadays? 1 in 10 if your lucky. Most are at least stage 2 or 3 tuned doing 0-60 in under 5 seconds with 4x4. Even the new Focus RS500 is not much quicker than a standard cossie,

@beaky1706 Yeah well you obviously were born in the 90's and are overprotective of your modern restricted crap, i know mine ran 11.45 @ 118mph at Santa Pod back in August so to say 1st gear and then no power shows you know nothing. for a few quid you can tune a cossie up to 350bhp no probs and that will get you low 12's. Your obviosuly on about coppie replica's running 15's matey.

sowas geht am besten mit einem anderen Luftfilter. Je mehr an Luftfilter und Luftfilterkasten geändert wird oder weggelassen destso besser zu hören.

Ive just bought the new RS and used my mk5 Golf r32 as a trade in.

Sorry to tell you but the golf r32 would get fucked in the Anal passage by the focus.

The golf is a nice all round car, but the focus is a serious machine for going fast .

I really like the look of the new Focus Coupe concept. I read about it in my car magazine that I threw away. Very nice bit of kit. Boasts a new range of 1.0L Eco Turbo units to replace the current 1.6/1.8 16V twin-cams & the 1.6 Ti-VCT engines & has an interesting range of Diesels 128Bhp TDCi, 160Bhp TDCi & a full-beef 200Bhp TDCi. Sounds great trouble is... Its Ford & I don't have faith in the reliability of their technology & cars over the cost-cutting they do & the customer service is poor.

i didnt say the interior was better quality i said it looks better and for me its not about the interior i have had a few fords like the MK5 fiesta zetec s and the focus st and i have drove VW's but i couldnt wait to get back into my zetec s or my st i couldnt wait for the journey to work and the journey home i loved to drive it but i dont feel the same about VW's. I am a fast ford fan i love them not saying they are the best built.

I never bought one, but I had one & you are an idiot mug if you buy a Ford over a VW. Same mug story I hear over & over again "It Looks better inside, must be better quality than a VW blab blab blab blab blab" In VW they actually use real chrome trims on the interior? In Fords they use this cheapo U-save silver immitaion lining that breaks off or peels away. If you want cabin rattling & fake looking interior shit go for a Ford! If you don't want either of those go for a VW!

They thinks its something special bless em. I'd rather have a Honda engined Rover than a Volvo Engine tampered by Ford. At least Rover didn't touch the Honda engines they only fucked up the K-series. Ford tinkering about with a T5 engine with their unreliable grubby little mits is worse than a load of poorly paid Ethiopians armed with only hammers & chisels building the next generation of £300,000 Rolls Royces. Makes you cringe! At least the cabins in Audis don't fall apart like Fords do.

My arse! lol You Ford lovers are forgetting that VAG (VW/Audi) had 5-pot Turbos long ago before Ford jumped on the banwagon with the ST/RS stealing Volvos hard work & pretending they made the entire engine themselves when all they did was add their own crap to a good T5 engine making it less reliable in the long run with more popping & misfiring. Ford modifying a T5 engine with their own bits is as bad as Rover ruining a Honda engine... It beggars belief! lol

Well they never do their job properly then. Don't tell me a Focus gets tested for faults before its released because they arrive at showrooms (for mugs who buy Fords) with so many faults they fail to correct its unreal. Fords always misfire when its done a few thousand miles anything Ford makes into a duratec always ends up misfiring. I hate the ST/RS sound anyway. 5-pots Turbos are nothing new, ST just reminds me of an old popping & backfiring 1930s old crock!

An R32 is better. Golfs are better full stop. I had a Focus 2.0L TDCi as a company car 3 years ago. It was no ST by any means but when it went back to Ford for yet another PCM diagnosis I had an emergency Golf 2.0L TDi courtesy of Lex. Loved the TDi 140 %20 more economical than the Focus, faultless engine more comfy driver seat & the interior wasn't fragile & brittle. I could bang doors shut & things didn't crack that came out of my pay packet! I'd have a Golf R32 over any Ford ST/RS anyday!

I have driven an R32 and I own an ST. To be honest the ST has been fine with build quality. As standard it kept up with an R32 they were pretty equal performance wise. My ST is now 300bhp and massacres R32s.

R32 I agree is better built but I found it boring, soul less and expensive for what yoy get.

I also agree that the RS is wayyyy too expensive for a Ford Focus

You are calling a Golf boring & soul less? Nothing beats that against a Focus! I spent hours on motorways & dual carridgeways in a 2.0L TDCi Ghia staring at the same oval-shaped heaters & square silver door handles almost so boring you could die in the car! Nah! Fuck the RS Fords are shit rip offs. You can buy an Evo or an Impreza for that! A proper 300hp reliable Jap car with 4-wheel drive car. Not an extra grotesque looking jumped-up Ford Focus with an intelligent FWD system. No way!

The Golf feels too clinical. Agreed, the normal focus is boring but the engine in the ST steals the show with its character

As I said, the R32 sounds wonderful but I feel it is overpriced. If I had to have a Golf I'd save the money and get a GTi Edition 30.

The RS is a rip off I agree and I agree I'd rather have an Evo for that money. I've got friends with Imprezas and they seem to break all the time. Shame as I love the warble of the engines

I'm a VAG guy but I must admit Golfs are rather too clinical but then like I say so are Focuses. No interior excitement in either of them. I used to get a lot of lifts home in my assistant managers white ST & the all-black plastic interior is horrid! The head-up dials are the only thing thats worth looking at. Ford depreciate too much anyway, chucking away 25+ K to a company who can't even treat their customers right just doesn't add up. They couldn't be fucked to fix the PCM on the old tdci!

I think the top part of the Focus dash (The spongy bit) is quite good. Below that is crap and cheap.

I's never buy a new Ford but the RS will hold it's value well. The 2002 ones are still going for 12k which is amazing for a Focus.

Ford customer service is terrible. I don't even go there anymore I'd rather get mine serviced by an independent specialist. I've heard VW, Audi etc are a lot better.

No one is worse than Stoneacre (Citroen, Fiat) though.

At least you are a down-to-earth & honest Ford guy unlike many other balloon headed pricks out there that think they are so good they are sacred. My Leon is awful on handling compared to the old company car & interior build is bad but hey you get used to it! I never annoy other drivers on A-roads I'm very civilised & sensible but I always know Ive got a nasty little 200Bhp remap on my TDi hidden under the bonnet to save me incase of an unprovoked attack from an impatient tosser!

I love having a Seat Leon 200hp TDi FR. Its the pinnacle of hatred from arrogant Audi A3 TDi, Golf GT TDi & BMW 118D/120D tossers. They see it they think its only a shitty Seat. My Audi/BMW Diesel will always be much faster than any other car because I paid more money for it. They almost go purple with rage when I release the handbrake & charge off like a black smoke rocket! You always know you touch a nerve, its when they start flashing the beams, then chase your ass. Yipee!

Apart from a broken flywheel, injector seal problem, & the car managing to burn its own clutch out which was done under its warranty. They never fixed the Sony radio that had a mind of its own & never switched off. & when ford finally got round to sorting out the passenger window mech & 2 of the rear seatbelt pre tensioners it seemed the interior was always rattling & coming apart more when they handed the car back. The so-called skilled technicians always look like little infants lol.
