  • Nice...and still air conditioned. hmmmm wheres the Grabber hood?

  • @PhillyX1

Grabber hoods were not available til 71.

  • @ntimid8r7 Grabbers and V-8's came in 1971. This must be real late 70 then. Doesn't have the Grabber grill either.

  • @rms5324 Google is your friend. Do a search, Grabbers came out in 1970 and were only available with 6 cylinders which this car originally had. Yes the hoods and v8's werent available til 71.

  • @ntimid8r7 Sounds good. Mine is just a '70 6 cyl with a Comet hood and Grabber grill.....Check out the vid of my POS.... Google this - "Staging the 428 Maverick "

  • @rms5324 1970 grabbers didnt have the scoops. but they were still grabbers but in 1970 there was no such thing as a 302 maverick , only 250 six cylenders.

  • What a beauty!!!

  • my friend Ted has a phat Grabber his has a spoiler and rear window louvers

  • thats not a maverick you LIAR...lol jk jk nice car man im getting mine this week cant wait.

  • Dam that`s a nice car

  • It has Pinto rear tail-lights

  • yes, they are the same tail-lights on mavericks and pintos

  • pintos had maverick tail lights :)

  • Mavericks were sleepers and never got any respect they were the Red headed step child Ford cars!!

  • Wish Ford re-launched a current version of the Maverick just as it did with the Mustang...this Maverick it's an amazing good looking car!

  • Such a nice car. I want to do an aggressive engine like that in my '03 Crown Victoria. haha. It's already got Flowmasters, but the shock effect of "what the fuck? was that a Crown Vic!?" would be so much more.

  • I look at this and all I can think is WHY NOT MEEEE!!!! I really just want a flashy maverick grabber with a 302 in it, street rod I guess. Pretty much with looks just like this one though. I just dont really need a dragster you know? but yea, this is rediculously wicked.

  • nice!!!!

  • had a new 70 , did not offer a grabber till 71 . might have been bought in 70 but it is an early 71 ! have owned a 70 , 72 & 74 ! what is the first number in the vin ? NICE CAR !

  • Do some RESEARCH! In 70 they did offer the grabber, OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE YOUR LOOKING AT ONE! I own the car. My friend posted it because he thought was cool. I know all about these little cars because I've been around it my whole life.I hate when people basically call me a liar and don't know what they are talking about. In 70 the grabber was a 6 cylinder, no v8 till 71, and no grabber hood till 71.The paint, stripes, dog dish hub caps with trim ring wheels, and spoiler were the grabber option.LOOK!

  • Takes me back to mine. I had a 71 Grabber same color and stripes, just the Grabber hood and silver hood stripe were on mine. Damn nice car!!!!

  • Hard to imagine a granny driving that beast

  • my bad thats the thicker bumpers i'm think'n of for 74 and 75 like my dads he also went over how the grabber had a 4 as the official number for the fourth digit

  • whats the vin number then, the grabbers fourth digit should say its no doubt a maverick nice too, but if it doesn't have the right digit then its some type of maverick

  • Look up 70 grabber on the internet and you'll see what the grabber package was. Grabber hoods were only on 71 and 72 and v8's started in 71 along with bucket seats. My grandmother bought this new in 70 and the body paint and interior are original. It has 71,000 miles documented on the title. It only looks this good because she kept it in a garage the whole time she owned it. I up dated the drive train with v8(they bolt right in) and 5 lug pattern from later maverick.

  • that is one badass car!

  • The Keystone mags are awsome. Very nice Ford.

  • oldie but goodie

  • The most Original GRABBER EVER

    MAVERICK CLUB RJ

  • if you check out the orlando craigslist there is another 1970 maverick grabber on there but it needs alot of work.

  • hola amigo!que motor traee tu carro es el 347 o el 331 ford?

  • hola amigo! engine that brings your car is 347 or 331 ford?

your spanish isn't very clear there buddy but then again i wouldn't know because i'm good ol american

  • Damn nice... I love Grabber Blue.. looks great on old classic fords... I guess that's why they put it on the 2010 mustang..

  • Yes I was kinda dissapointed when I read the article about the new mustang color and saw the pictures. My grabber blue maverick is a pretty unique color, but now you'll see that color everywhere. Oh well, at least you don't see mavericks everywhere and especially grabber blue ones. Thanks for the complement. I really love this car.

  • Beautiful!!!! Here in Brasil we didn't get the Mustang... but yes the Maverick. And it's still like a legend here! Nice vid!

  • I can listen to this v-8 rumble all day.

There's something very primal, very beastial about a v-8 engine like this one. Nice Mav.

  • is your maverick a 302, if it is can you tell me what you have done cause i want mine to sound just like that.

  • it is a 347 stroker.

  • and big cam

  • these cars were great alternatives to teh ultra expensive camaros mustangs challengers and cudas on the 80's hot rod scene.

  • i bet the lobes on that cam are bigger than dolly pardons tits. you can hear each cylinder firing.what is the lift and duration of the cam in this monster?? did you have to run with triple springs??? id love to catche hte specs on this engine I am in the process of building a 302 for my 68 cougar.

  • I will have to find out for you, I know it is rediculous though.

  • double springs. 292 / 292, 530 lift

  • Sexy car, but you can almost hear it chug down the gas. lol

Someones got a Mav down the road from me, its been sitting on their lawn for about 3 years. Im going down to take a look at it soon, and i might restore it, Nice vid though.

  • nice car.

    this car is my dream.

  • cant really say its all original if it has a stroked engine...

  • That is why it says EXCEPT drivetrain...

  • I'm starting to really love Mavericks and Comets!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice Car and Color Scheme!!! What size is the advertised duration of that cam? It sounds sick!!

  • Great shot of the taillights. Note these are the same taillights on the Ford van and pickup of the era (turned sideways). Ford knew how to save money back then!

  • A dream machine indeed...

  • A 347 with drum brakes still on the front? Scary! Very nice car otherwise, though. I have 9 Mavericks myself, including a '72 that is my daily driver.

  • Yeah it now has a disc conversion, that was def a much needed upgrade.

  • beautiful but Ford Galaxies for me is better!

One time my grandfather has this car !

    1 red maverick 302 GT!

  • i dont think thats a grabber dont mean to rain on anyones parade.....but it doesnt have the grabber hood, or the turn signals/fog lights in the grill, and the grabber had bucket seats in the front not a bench.

  • Then you don't have a clue what a Grabber is. This is a 70, not a 71 or later that has the hood and other features that those do. READ the desription of the car before posting comments.

  • ok thanks for clearing that up. i personally own a 1972 for maverick grabber so seeing someone with a maverick claiming its a grabber but lacking the parts..just sets off some flags

  • GORGEOUS CAR! Love the color!

  • Beautiful Maverick!

  • the sound of the exhaust made me wet my pants a little i think.....

  • Not too many of these around. Looks nice and it has A/C.

  • BABYMUSTANG

  • awesome car my friend

  • maravilhoso!!

  • im not mush of a ford guy but i love the grabbers. i am planning on buying one from a friend for 600 bucks but i have no clue if it runs. the tabs expired in 05 so i dont know if the thing has been run ever since. i barely make 200 a month from working so i don't know if i could afford to keep it running. its a 74 probably with a 6-cyl (like 3 ltr?) and its not a grabber. but some of the ones in 74 are brazillian manufactured(i think)and might be worth investing in.

  • Luv that Grabber Blue Maverick, I recall seeing those at the Ford dealers back in the early 70's when my folks were new car shopping..my dad is a Ford man.

  • Had a 71 boss 351 grabber blue and argent!

  • Wow, thats one nice car. In really amazing shape. And his Grandma must have been a rocking Grandma with that model of Mavrick and big V8 with all that power. Nice vid.

  • VERY clean. sounds great to:)

  • Those old school Keystones look great with that blue.

  • very beaultiful !

  • 351 w ? Mine is 302 and i have loads more space.

  • 347 stroker.....

  • How come it doesn't have the grabber hood? Was that an option or something?

  • The Grabber hood wasnt available until 1971. this is a 70.

  • oh ok. Have you thought about putting one on, or do you want to keep it original?

  • It is being kept original as far as I know. He just wanted a little more go under the hood.

  • original, but new drivetrain and new engine? might as well paint it and get a grabber hood, it's already wayyy far from original.

still though, that's a damn sexy car

  • Maverick is and always has been the car of my dreams.

  • My dream is an DODGE DART in 2nd place the Mav

  • Nice.

  • damn those shock towers - that car would have been better without them

  • what is that shade of blue

  • they call that grabber blue.

  • i luv you car im a chevy guy running a75 monza but the maverick/comet was my second choice when choosing a donor that was twenty years ago

  • hey guys...

    I have somethings to ask

wich engines Maverick had in USA??? how much a used one would cost me and wich years until when it was produced in North America?

    I`m intending to buy one.

    THANKS!!!

  • I will have to ask him and I will get back to you.

  • not too sure but they were made from 1970 til 1977, they came with a 200, or 250 L6 motor or a 302 V8, as far as price, check on ebay they go for anywhere around 3 to 6 grand

  • Mavericks were produced from 1970 to 1977. The stock engines were the 170 6-cyl, 250 6-cyl, and 302 V8. I had a 1972 Mercury Comet with the 302 V8. Badass little car!

  • mavericks came in 170s, 200s, 250s, and 302s.

in the US, they were made from 1970 to 1977.

and for prices, it all depends on condition, engine, and year.

  • beautiful!!!!!!!

  • wow i didnt know that ford ever offerred a 347 small block stock on these in 1970 :)

  • they never did offer he probly got the motor stroke or bought one that was already stroke

  • hum. and what is so special about mustaings. the mavric is awsome. why did the mustaing outlast it?

  • the mustang was more popular thats the only reason

  • simply beautiful!

  • my dream car!

  • the sound of leaving police

  • yeah baby that sound like a boarded 302 I am a maverick owner and I be shitting on cars mines is a 76 4 door

  • on no i can stand any maverick newer than 72

  • I love the colour on your car. Sounds great too.

  • I have 2 mavericks..first has motor 3.3 litr...and kompresor...he is diamant between europs cars.. i live in poland... when are only economy small engines :)

  • nice flowmasters, get that fuel filter of your intake, whats's the cam?

  • so my dad just bought me a 1970 maverick and i want it to look like that when were done...

  • good luck ive had a few mavs. they r so fun!

  • I love maverick

  • Why did he swap out the Grabber hood for the flat one?

  • The "Grabber" hood wasn't available in 1970! Those weren't offered until '71.

  • NICE RIDE, thats the color I want to paint My Grant Torino Sport! Scary that it still has drum brakes on it! O_O

  • yeah am the same way man we may not ever grow up lol that is a bad ass maverick my dad had one when i was little to bad he still did'nt have it if he did it would have been mine now thats right joe stay a kid as long as ya like joe

  • Brings me back to my childhood. Still have not grown up. Am restoring a Maverick now. Enjoy your ride as I am enjoying mine! Joe
