this part was real sad, Leonard was just having fun with his friends, who is proud of who he is and not ashamed of him of being a nerd. That is until Penny being a complete bitch who devastated him with those cruel words, he later wanted to change to impress Penny and get rid of the time machine. I guess the moral of the story is Don't be ashamed of who you are.

This is going to show my inner nerd.....but he technically pulls the lever back towards him, which would begin a trek back into time, not forward. And also, there was no system into which he could punch in a date to indicate where in time they wanted to go. It was simply the pressure on the lever that increased or decreased the rate of time travel. There, now I've shown the world how big of a nerd I am. Live long and prosper.

They messed up a fact in this episode. alexander Graham Bell's house is in Brampton Ontario. He was just working in Boston on the telephone for a while. In fact, the first telephone call between buildings took place in Ontario. Not to mention that he never actually owned a house in Boston anyway.
