Hey your probably not going to read this, but I know at least one of you will. I've been inspired to make health and fitness videos and I want to spread the word about it. Would you please take a second to view my channel and tell me what you think about the video. Thanks guys
I actually do rowing and I have to say with rowing its about 80% legs and 20% back. The arms arent actually meant to do much at all which leads me on to the question, why dont you just keep your legs straight and curl then? or even just use cables?
The exercise works as I outlined here, but if you want to experiment with other variations go right ahead. I'm also a fan of doing high rep rubber band bicep curls as a finishing move for the arms as well. There are literally hundreds of exercise variations you can do, I'm just showing a couple in this video :-)
Muscle fiber make up isn't as black and white as fast and slow. There are different types of fibers in between as well. This exercise that I'm showing here isn't a true "slow twitch" muscle fiber exercise. To give you an example, you can walk for over an hour non-stop easily. Walking works slow twitch muscle fibers and it will NOT stimulate growth. However, rowing is more intense, you can't row non stop for over an hour, it's a higher intensity and will help with muscle growth.
very true about flushing blood into lagging body parts. I recently started adding a few light sets of chest on my legs just for the pump, not to break it down. I think thats one of the reasons my back is my best body part. Its always a little bit of work each workout without even meaning to
This is a great idea Lee! For some reason while you were doing these I was reminded of Chuck Norris on those infomercials on his exercise machine that he does...i forgot what its called lol. Made me laugh tho
Hey Lee, These videos are amazing! I watch everyone for inspiration and ideas for when im working out at home and in the gym. Could you maybe take a quick look at running in one video? just how to get into a rythm, because I find when I run, I just can not find a rythm, bike riding im fine but running just is not working for me. :S
I've said it before and I'll say it again...Lee Hayward is one of the smartest/most genuine trainers on You Tube...he's one of the few guys that's loyal to his followers.
@Ricecakes001 actually, he looks a lot leaner (very visible in his face) in this vid than around the time of his trip even just a few weeks ago! you're awesome lee, thanks for the help and motivation!
Very interesting Lee! I do a similar thing with my cardio but with my calves. I used the stair master (toes hanging off the edge) and high incline running machine to get a good calf burn. I feel it does very little for growth in general but does provide a wicked pump which as you say, can aid in recovery. Passes the time doing cardio too! I love hitting two birds with one stone :)
that´s a rowing machine .. so ROW !!

I wouldn't recommend it, ephedrine is safer and just as effective for fat loss.

Cardio can be awesome for the calves as well. One of my favorites for the calves is bike riding. A lot of cyclists have well developed calves.
