I personally think you are a bit of a dick, I have watched a few of your video's and probably out of 90% of the then I have seen, you make a big deal out of nothing. If I remember correctly, you were the fella who was not riding in the cycle lane and then complained about cars getting too close to you - what the fuck do you expect. If a cycle lane is there then use it
And this video you're saying the other cyclist endangered you - what is that all about? Just because he was coming towards you?
He would have been fine but at the last minute he was like "oh my gosh it's magnatom! That guy is my youtube hero!" and that's when he got distracted and hit the wall. Personally I think the wall was at fault.
Not sure but i've seen another one of your videos that look like you're going thru the same tunnel. Are you not suppose to be on the otherside? This would be the equivalent of going the wrong way down the road?
Ugh. I really hat cycling through that tunnel. Honestly for all the money we pay for council tax they could make something better for pedestrians and cyclists.
heh, one of the most important rules of safe driving is to always be able to stop in the distance you can see to be clear ahead :) Its a rule I use while cycling, and its a rule he probably doesn't know!
@PeowPeowPeowLasers Make that half the distance if the path is narrow. There was enough room to break, he was surprised by the presence of someone else. This would have been bad if you had been a few metres further ahead. Or if someone was waiting for any reason between the corner and his halting point. This was reckless. I hope you are more careful than that yourself.
Ouch poor guy! I guess he noticed you a bit too late, grabbed a bit too much brake, and then it all went very wrong for him. I hope that both men and machinery were undamaged, and that relevant lesson were learned!
Hard to tell, I need to watch this in slomo... looks like he moved over to his left, braked as he did so, back end slid around slightly and he regained traction but that resulted in him being lined up with the wall.
Painful, I hope he complains to the council. If he sues for injury I bet they close the tunnel down ;-)
@earthstick Improper maintenance of the tunnel under H&S. The council has obligations to make sure that there is nothing to cause injury to those using it, and Magnatom said something about the surface being slick and muddy.
Its the same if a farmer spreads mud on the road, theres an obligation to clean it up.
Beleive me, people have sued for a lot less, and I'm not suggesting that he should, mearly that he could.
I was pissing myself laughing at this last night - my wife thought I was mental.
I don't find the fall funny - that sucks. It was what happened... he came around the corner and hit the inside wall? I couldn't use the plugin to download to step through but I don't see him hit the "outside" railings... I assume he lost traction? Considering the distance he could have had a decent line back into position without braking - do you think he knows it's currently 2 way traffic?
@drsquirrel0 I shouldn't have watched it again - lol
It looks like he was pretty much straight before he decided to move over, and then just bounced off the wall - that is whats so funny to me (probably because it's hard for us to see what went on).
Hope he's okay. At least he hasn't caused £1000s worth of damage - we need insurance huh? ;)
If your thinking about complaining about this guy your mistaken, your doing the same thing cycling in the subways

you were cycling too fast. You have to slow down when approaching corners to take into account that someone might come round and cross the path.

Oof! Bet that shook him up a bit. You were both pretty lucky there! Do you carry a first aid kit put of interest?

Ouch! I had a similar experience just several days ago.
Fortunately I was in better condition because it was a step thru frame (rental bike, which I was most thankful for later).
I hope he's recovering well.

Ouch. Hope he's ok. The fall is bad enough with the one witness, then some cruel man sticks it up on youtube. :) Can we have it in Slow mo'?

Eek! I almost took the tunnel home today but the drop and especially the rise the other side didn't appeal. I'm glad I didn't now.

Looks like he grabbed at his brakes when he saw you. As you say, I suspect the two-way nature of this path has contributed a little to this incident.
