  • Why our being fed this shit!

  • tururu-tururu. hahaha

  • One of the best Smiths songs ever. Besides "There is a light,,," and "Please 3x". Actually this is one of the first Smiths songs I learned and liked instantly. The bass and guitar compliment each other well.

    Cheers!

  • Finally! An excellent version

  • Finally!

  • Really good -- cheers

  • Hello for the US. Well done. Great chords, good strumming. Glad to see that people still appreciate the Smiths

  • superb cover, am glad i found this

  • good man yourself, great job bud

  • Fantastic job. Your guitar sounds great. From the pickguard I'm assuming it's an old Yamaha ? If so which model ? Thanks

  • eg.'some girls 'sounds brilliant in open e or open d capo2,the open strings sound better somehow .

  • oh,but ill need your adress,im stillstuck on middle in 'headmaster'but anything else i can share with you just ask me,askme.ask me.

  • i nailed the Am [5th fret] section at the end ,i will send you tab if you like,it sounds peachy.

  • very good!

i love this song, and this cover is great!

i liked your "tu tu tu tu tu"! hahaha

    a hug from brazil!

  • cheers! hug from ireland -via australia .(I'm travelling at the moment) :-)

  • Nice one mate, excellently played, wish I could play like that. I love this song but can't find the original on youtube. Also, apart from being on Meat Is Murder is not on any Smiths compilation which I think is strange as it's a great song.

  • Yep, I always wondered why it has not been released on a compilation so far.

One of my favourite songs ever.

But now it's on the "Singles Box" which came out a few days ago...

  • Thanks mate.just a lot of practice and listening to the records i guess. a lot of patience too .drives me mad sometimes tho :-) it is strange its not on any comp eh .shame. its a forgotten gem ..i love that about the smiths ..once you get into them you keep discovering all these fantastic songs..b sides bbc sessions etc. pure class.

  • Tabs please? I love your covers!

  • sorry mate i dont have any tab for this ...or ability to write my own ..chords posted below hope that helps

  • you play the smiths with accuracy, can you do headmasters ritual? your great, i learn from you. please keep it up.

  • Bravo!

  • Well done! One of my very favorite Smiths songs. I actually think your casual humming adds a nice touch too.

  • thanks man...my favorite Smiths song.. i should have guessed a 12 string huh.

  • Just stick loads of major sevenths in there and you can't go far wrong! Right, where's that capo?

  • Mate, Seriously, BRILLIANT!!!! Loved it.

  • I think you got it spot on - Yes I read that some where too

( a lot of smiths songs tuned/capo'd up to F# ) but in this song particular was also done on a 12 string i read.

Thanks man, one of my favorite songs of all times- I could not figure out what he was doing on that - Cadd9add11

(x32031)-.Was that the hardest one ?

    Good hear bro

I would love to hear you do it on a 12 string.

  • And I like the fact you didn't ruin it by singing. Like you mentioned, no one can sing like Moz. But if you change it a bit then your singing won't seem like an imitation. Try it, maybe speed it up a bit. Man, I wish I had the time to learn how to play the strings.

  • Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hi, very nice you video, i like your hands, you are special ...

  • tururururuuuuuuuu

  • nah no one can sing like moz..i wouldnt do it justice !

  • great unfortunately, anyone can sing you should try

  • I have that capo, and I'm gonna learn this song.

Of course, first song I learned was This Charming Man, There is a Light..., etc haha

  • Thank you so much, sounds pretty good to me. I actually hummed along with the first verse... Anyways thanks again for the chords and everything.

  • sorry for the delay folks, I had to find a chord dictionary online to get the names of some of the chords as they are fairly unusual .

Here goes ,numbers in brackets represent chord notes fret position(top to bottom EADGBE)

    Capo on 2nd fret

    Intro:

    Emadd11/A(x02000),Cmaj7/11/13/F(133200),Am7, Fadd9 (1x3213), Am to Asus2, Fadd9

    Verse: Cadd9add11 (x32031) to C, Em,Am,G

    Chorus: Dm to Dmsus?(xx0210), Fmaj7, G,

And I worked it all out by ear too btw :O)

  • fantastic!

shame you couldn't play it over the top of the song so we could hear Morrissey's vocals. still aces though

  • wow that was amazing. could you please post the chords?

  • Cheers Elylester. Def think its capo on 2nd fret same as William etc. a lot of smiths songs are tuned/capo'd up to F# to suit moz's voice I read that somewhere in a johnny marr interview. If u need the chords etc let me know I can post up.

  • Your version is awesome. can you send me the chords.

  • This is really good. I figured this one out not using a capo-your way looks right!
