  • To quite, no stain glass, no preacher throwing the bible, no graven images on the wall, no over the top decorations, seems a little boring! I like it. My kind of place. No distractions.

  • I happen to be a Quaker but I don't think that you should have let the video be 6 minutes of looking at the back of peoples heads and one minute of someone talking.

The reason I say that is because people unfamiliar with the Quaker faith might get bored watching this because they won't understand what is going on. Mind you, I find the silence powerful and I really enjoy Quaker worship but for an outsider watching this they would be just confused. That's my 2 cents worth.

  • @Octoberfurst I could have manipulated to create the "perfect" representation, but I felt I needed to go where the Spirit lead. Whereas most of the time in our meeting someone is speaking into the silence, this was a rarer time where there was silence only, until our pastor got up to close. Of course, Quakerism is experiential, as is open worship, and it is one of those things that most does not translate into a YouTube venue :-)

  • not to attack the Quaker faith, but this is bad place if you have to pass gas!!!

  • Hello Friend greetings from Exeter meeting in the uk

  • See, I get disappointed in church when there isn't this time of silence. At first it was hard for me to do even 5 minutes, but I've grown to appreciate a 20 minute period of silence - as long as I'm not dead tired and falling asleep! :-)

But typically, there is actually some talking- prayers, sharing the word from the Spirit, a song or prophesy. This was an unusual seven minutes without any sharing for the entire Open Worship.

  • Its too quiet for me, no music, no prayers, ahhhhhh

  • It is also my kind of church. Unfortunately in Poland there are no quakers communities.

  • this is my kinda church, it seems, so far. i've been there before but never really grasped how it works untill i watched this video. ahh... the power of the internet.. anyways, i like the complete quietness, the sereness, no loud music, organs, catholic priests, the perfect church to really meditate. i will be attending soon.

  • Glad to be of assistance!
