Absolutely beautiful voice and interpretation. I now have three favorite singers for this aria, Montserrat Caballe, Zermena Heine-Vagnere, and Stella zambalis.

Stella is truly amazing. It was my pleasure to hear her in recital not too long ago in Chattanooga, TN. It was a wonderful program including "Casta Diva" with the cabaletta. I was able to give her a memento from my voice teacher who was her teacher's husband. She was very gracious in accepting it. What a lovely person she is.

I'm not a singer. I wonder how can she (and all the others) sing so beautifully laying on the ground like that ! I'm sure that's not a really comfortable position.

The stage works like a giant sounding board and that helps the sound go out into the audience. With her mouth only inches above the stage this effect is magnified. Believe it or not, Stella has said that she prefers to sing this lying down.

Thank you bshendr. I would love to see more of her in other soprano roles. For many years, I thought that the only one I could enjoy on this aria was Maria Callas. Now with Youtube, I think differently.
