  • im an archer in archery so thank you!

  • No Skyrim comment yet, yeess!!

I used to be an on expertsvillage like you but then i took an arrow in the knee!

  • New to archery... and I'd have to say I'm glad I seen this and watched it. I've been having no problems with judging range, but windage is my weak spot. I'd get 2-3 shots in a tight group and then be off in either direction. Never thought to let the string tough my nose, tried pulling back and doing it....feels natural and comfortable as can be. I'll give it a try shooting and see how it works :D

  • there are tons of videos for beginners, but thats it.

  • Im new to archery. So can you hunt with a re curve bow and if so whats a good lbs on the draw back for hunting.

  • @MrSnicklfritz Yes u can hunt with a recurve. 50 lbs is the safe and legal range for hunting really anything.

  • Do you puch the trigger or squeeze

  • @MrJames00723 NEVER punch the trigger, always squeeze

  • oh your a pro lol ya right this guys is so right i shoot in the ibo world championship pro class my last name is hall, i shoot for dead centchery and limbsaver , if you are such a pro were do you shoot and what is your last name??? some people are so full of shit it pathetic...

  • ick i hate compound bows

  • yyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haw

  • @coolcon123outdoors it's got pulleys and sigths it's not a "real" bow no sigths and no other shit just a bow and an arrow (modern recurves are okay ) if you need a sigth look down the arrow

  • How about some tips and techniques for a proper bow?

  • carbon element baby

  • easy i just call tim wells

  • @leen51468 Who is Tim Wells?

  • @WebFixation01 you gotta be kidding me.

  • i shoot a martin bow with jaguar limbs and viportrail bow strings with a trueglow sight with a leveler on it. :P i have a garage build quiver made out of pvc pipe and black and green duct tape XD lol im not sure what kind of arrow rest i have though, it has two white little limb this that hold the arrow up and is spring loaded so when you push down on them they go down, but its not a auto dropping arrow rest.

  • I do not like this complex bow. I'll stick with a wooden bow with 1 string, thanks.

  • @Ariusbrightwing GAY.!!!

  • PSE alllllll daaaaay baby(;

  • im 15 i shoot a hoyt aplha max at 55 pounds love it

  • @tclharris thats bull crap u couldnt put 3 arrows in a 25 yard circle at 25 yards!

  • im fifteen and shoot the mathews mission craze at 23" draw and sixty pounds with gold tip arrows best bow i have ever shot

  • great tips, i shoot a Hoyt Rintec with 50 Pounds draw and im 13

  • @0DJMarco0 NICE!!!

  • @miles5501 was that sarcasm? lol

  • I shoot a bow too and it really is difficult.

  • love long long bows personally i think there better and stronger

  • i shoot a good old REAL bow... my good old long bow, and my hoyt helix recurve bow.. long bow much better ^^

  • sorry, but bullshit.. ppl are acturate, not bow's.... learn to shoot without a site like it started and you wont need a compound bow with sights and balancers and all the crap man made to make up for lousy skill.

I'm a traditional archer, my teacher learned from Howard Hill. What I use, 100 pound draw english longbow, no sights, wooden arrows. 100 to 150 yard feild target.

Compoundsare nice because you can lesson the draw weight and keep the power. but ditch the sights. you dont need them.

  • what a bow is he shooting ? Bowtech Sentinel ? Guardian ?

  • i did archery yeterday in PE at school my PE teacher said i was good at so me and few mates goin to the club on school nights

  • It's always annoying when you watch a video and then you see that the comments are nothing but replies in an argument.

  • I've used a compound before and I do suck with it. But with a recurve, I'm a tad better. These videos actually helped me a bit.

  • Even Robin hood would chose a compound bow if he had a choice.

  • lol he said torque bow.

  • lol... compound bows are definitely more accurate because of the equipment that helps you much more than a recurve but the people who shoot in compound are shooting 35X average in the world but the recurve are shooting 34X average so there is actually no comparison between the 2

  • WARNING!

    Traditional vs. Compound argument below!

    Proceed at your own risk!

  • I have a recurve bow but i need alot more practice!!!

  • you cant put the bow down and come back and be deadly accurate

  • This guy makes it look like Compound archery is easy, but it's definitly not!!

I'm a Pro and yes: compound bows are more accurate, but it doesn't mean you can just pick a compound up and shoot a dead centre 10 with it without any practice. That's appearently what some people seem to think.

  • @remcoIJ i was shooting next to a guy yesterday who was using a compound at 30 yards and getting a spread of less that 3 inches. he switched to his recurve instinctive at 10 yards and shot all over the 12x12 target

  • @bajesus666 some people are better with recurve and others are better with compound.

  • @remcoIJ yeh were doing Archery in gym class. its not easy but its not like SUPER hard

  • @remcoIJ i'm going to a state compatition next week but i really need help in 70m distance... any tips?

  • @freakBucketz Yeah, train this week everytime on the 70m so u get a little used to shooting it. When you are in the match next week: DONT THINK. Just put your mind to a stop about what you should to to hit the gold. Becuz archery should be somthing you do automaticily, like tieing your shoelaces. Will this be helpful?

  • @remcoIJ Yeah,I started with a wooden bow first. Hell, even my coach tell me to practice pulling it first without shooting. Then I started group shooting. And THEN use the compound bow with stabilizers.

This video just give mindsets to people that archery=black ops.

  • @remcoIJ hes got a serious point shooting bow and arrows takes a sht load of practice

  • @remcoIJ your right they are hard to use because you have to build up your muscle tone to be able to stay steady and you have to sight in your sights which can take alot of work and trial and error doing so, and you have to keep shooting or you will begin to be less accruate. i personaly think shooting with both eyes open is best :P lol

  • @remcoIJ

yep sure :O its pretty tough heh

  • @remcoIJ 50 yards first time and i did a 6 shot grouping near or exactly dead center on the target. It's not as easy as a lot of people think but it is definitely easy. I prefer Recurves, I don't hunt but if I were to hunt large game (deer, elk, bear, etc.) I'd use a compound. Small game I'm going to stick with my recurve.

  • oh ya right your not a pro if so were do you shoot what class and what league naa, nfaa, ibo, fita, asa were do you shoot this guys is right 100% my last name is hall i shoot ibo world championship pro class, and this guys has alot to offer for technique a good lock point is the key to shooting knocks off your arrows at 70 yards, if more people would try these techniques we would all have alot less injured deer and have a stronger semi pro or adult shooters.

  • @remcoIJ ..especially if you're in full draw on 70m and the wind starts blowing......

  • Yeah, compounds are made for easy shooting. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But, I perfer traditional myself. Its a hard, but I love it. I'm not sayin' compounds aren't hard, you know. But here's what I wanna say: ARCHERY RULES!!! :)

  • I am right handed and left eye dominant I shoot a right handed bow 30 years now.

  • he gave us the finger! 1:18

  • @dna1101 NO he didn't?

  • Check out the new True shot dual laser bow tuner on youtube and on ebay!

  • My tip- Shoot a BowTech ;)

  • @thepervysailor guns can be made that shoot faster more accurate and with tons more power than a musket..... does that make them any less of a gun?? no that means more firepower

  • i hold a bow with my left hand. does that make me a lefty?

  • @teatshanglow426 na dude i hold the bow in my left hand and im a righty. wat ev u use to hold the strng is wat hand u are. ur a righty

  • @Killerpick16 Actually thats incorrect. You are supposed to select the hand by your dominate eye.

  • thats not a bow

it could shoot itself if you let it

  • @thepervysailor Recurve all the way baby.

  • hey there youtubers. i would really like to get into archery;i am most interested in getting a recurve bow. what would be a good draw weight for a first bow. id like it to be relitively strong, but not so much so that i am shaking like a chiwawa just trying to draw it back.

  • @jayman448

there is no weight i can recommend considering i do not know how strong you really are. the only way i gees you would find out is that you go to your nearest archery shop or bass pro shop and ask for someone to help you find the bow that is just right for you.

  • @club46 ok thanks anyways

  • @club46 I agree, he needs to go try some out. But its not about strength so much cause its not muscles people normally train. I can lift very heavy in the gym, but a 70 draw my first time killed me at 13 arrows

  • I use a 22lb, wooden recurve... and my aiming sux

  • who the hell cares about what you guys and girls think are better! shoot whatever the hell you like to shoot! case closed!

  • Comment removed

  • @Elite620 u probaly the biggest faggot there

  • I actually shoot a real bow & arrow

  • @Eldinarcus

Playing a Hunter on World of Warcraft doesn't count.

  • @Greyy385 Awww, LOLOL, I don't play a Hunter on World of Warcraft.

  • @Greyy385 Neither does watching archery videos on youtube

  • @Eldinarcus every bow is a real bow, even a homemade one is a real one, you seem to think that a real bow is a Recurve bow. Yes it is a more TRADITIONAL bow but not the only real bow. the only reason you think a compound bow is easy, is because the weights and gears on it, its just as hard to learn how to use that as it is a recurve bow.

  • @Eldinarcus i am more real then you i shoot a long bow and wood arrows :P

  • @bowhunter52196 OH MAN, you are sooooo real! Oh My Gosh!

  • @Eldinarcus

    what defines real?

  • @shumba18

wooden or plastic and not at all like that guys bow.

  • @Eldinarcus

    same here

  • @Eldinarcus oooooo wow..... im 13. so do i. I OWN A REAL BOW

  • @miles5501 i got a real compound bow too and im 13 too yay gimmie 5

  • @0DJMarco0 at least ican put 20 arrows in a 2inch circle at 70 yards

  • @tclharris and who is telling you you cant :c and if you really can nice job lol

  • @tclharris what arrows do u fire

  • @tclharris what arrows do u fire

  • @Eldinarcus and what do you mean by that? a better compound or a long bow?

  • haha I knew before I even clicked on this vid there would be a traditional bow vs compound bow argument in the comments. Can't you all agree that we all just like to do archery.

  • @TheRogueMexican

    I argee!!!!! lol

  • It's not just bows though. It seems like everybody gets their milk from the store. What happened to the traditional skills of raising cattle? Or eggs? Why doesn't anybody raise their own chickens?

    It's called progress, my friend.

  • @maxwell19900

(most) People don't raise livestock for fun or for the challenge. I prefer traditional archery because it is more challenging and traditional bows seem to have personality (similar to an old vehicle). I enjoy shooting my compound bow also though and I think whatever gets someone shooting is what they should use.

  • what's the name of the store?

  • and to think they get payed for this waste of time.

  • medieval??? retards....u dont know shit

  • What a fancy bow. It's got LEDs, and there's even a personal fan up the top to keep you cool.

  • Evolution is part of the human beeing...we no longer live in the medieval time...accept the technologie anyway as long as we dont automate bow we still good!

  • Thank you for the videos. Very helpful for new archers.

  • whats the point of the video if we can't see anything! stupid words!

  • @jessie123246 you can remove the subtitle! dumbass!

  • am i supposed to be watching a video or reading what he is saying while listening?

  • LOL, release trigger.

  • I am 14 years old and I'm looking for a youth bow since I don't hunt (pacifist).

I am going to buy a bow from Academy since it has low prices, but I need tips on how to take care of my bow and arrows. Any tips please?

  • I Subscribed. Thank you for the tips. I'm taking archery class at my school but they don't teach me as much as what your showing me now. That why I here. Thank you.

  • I learned how to shoot on a homade Lemonwood recurve. However, When I got my first compound, I was in love. When I hunt I use both, When I'm Big game hunting I use the compound, when it's small game I use the recurve.

  • hi nice stuff ive just restrung my bow could you please tell me where the strings should cross over is it on the lower limb or the upper my bow has three strings cheers

  • helpful, but having a couple of shoots so you dont stutter would be good

  • ei leroy, i'd really seriously love to learn archery it's just that in our culture it's not much incorporated... I live in the Philippines, but I'd really really love to learn how to use them that sometimes I get to dream about doing it, just like driving a car, which is also one of my dreams.. I really hope someone could teach me how to get a hand on one of those... thanks

  • That's unfortunate. Maybe if you had a real bow I would like this video.

  • ugh this world is really caught up in all that hi tech stuff. we really need to go back to the traditional ways!!!

  • I shoot a 25# compound, with out sights, or anything. I'm gonna buy a PSE one piece 50#, OLD TECH FTW

  • Stupid high-tech junk

  • I agree that a long bow is more challenging, but a compound is superior in every single category-- speed, accuracy. consistency, distance, penetration power... hell even looks!

  • well you may be right about shooting by instinct with no sights or anything but show me a "long bow" that shoots over 300 feet per second thats as quiet as a compound and ill start shootin it i shoot a compound because it is easier for one but also for the speed and silence because i hunt shooting by instinct is a very hard skill to learn but shooting with sights isnt very easy either im not knockin on anyone who shoots instict or im not sayin a long bow is too slow i just prefer my compound

  • medieval long bow lol what a fagget you remind me of ogi off role models playing lair lol so gay freakin long bow what the hell!!!!!

  • @Cain199fan

    How old are you? Really.

  • woah! bow and arrow is starting to look like one of 007's gadgets :)

  • I have a basic recurve bow I want to take deer hunting....

  • Interesting....Hoyt propaganda at the back but using a Bowtech to do the video.

  • If your sick of ads, click this 0:01

  • im using a Hoyt Rebel 40-50 pound draw right now. im 13, but im a newbie, so i may get a new one sometime down the road.

  • I wonder who will fix all those fancy-shmansy bows if for all imagination sake we do get thrown back into medieval times ^_^ But I've always had passion for archery in general so I'll settle for what I can afford. I think I'll read up on how to make a set from scratch LOL

  • Comment removed

  • as someone that shoots a longbow and sticks to the traditional side of archery, i refuse to listen to anyone tell me how to improve my accuracy when they have a sight on their bow.

  • who the fuk is into dungeons and dragon shit lik medieval longbows anymore.

  • I think a really good archer can shoot since from a: English Longbow, Comopsite Bow, American Indian Bow, Egyptian Composite Bow... Any bow and not just one of these modern bows witch i tried to wicha re so easy to aim at the target... :)

  • 1:19 u had the middle finger up :|

  • That thing about the bow hand is nice. I never heard of that, but it could be the key to my improvement. Thank you, papaw.

  • REDNECK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @keldererik

    Says a Hill billy

  • Just got a bow and im 10 and im piercin the target like crazy!

  • @ OFmartinKEN

If your still alive, nothing is too late.

    Eywa ayngahu.

  • I am 21, and I wanna learn archery... Do you think it's too late?

  • @OFmartinKEN no its not late my coach has only been shooting for 2 years and shes 50 and really good

  • @OFmartinKEN You'll regret later if you don't start now. Go for it :)

  • I do not see the point in shooting a bow with sights and things that make it easier to shoot. I do not think it takes as much skill as shooting with a longbow or recurve. You might as well use a sniper rifle

  • @AlphaTurkey117 well its a hell of a lot quieter than a rifle , and i dont aprove of hunting innocent animals but if one did, it would be much easyer to take out an arrow than a bullet,.

  • @AlphaTurkey117 For backyard fun.

  • dang it look so "hi-tech"... myself is trying to figure out how to shoot with the real thing, a normal bow.

Some tips could be helpful, but i could probably figure it out sumtime anyway

  • @saurow2 Are you shooting a sighted recurve, or unsighted?

  • Its not some beefy American Bow or anything stupid like that its just a Compound bow which is more modern and alot more accurate than normal recurves and stuff. They are quite popular with American Archers, though i prefer recurves as u need more skill to use them. Hope that helped =D

  • ?!?! I'm new to this stuff... but... What the hell is he holding?

  • it pulls the string back and is easier to do than pull the string with your hand

  • i think thats a bow =S

  • I believe it's a bow....

  • The French bow? Surprised you can hunt with one of those. I heard they all run away from you just like the French

  • angelstubborn prety much all amarican bows are like this one

  • that thing has like 1000 little gadgets wtf

  • OMG it's not a bow it's a tank, do all american bows look like this one ? French bow are quite different, lighter and easier for hunting !!!!

  • no no thts just the professional amercian hunting bow and its alot lighter than it looks

  • oh I see ! Thanks for responding : )

  • all the traditional skill is being lost with modern high tech bows,id like to see them fire a basic medieval longbow,

  • @broofer666 would you like to please join us in the 21st century

  • @broofer666 I know! with new bows all you have to do is draw the string, the bow does the rest, practically aims too

  • @broofer666 We'll we don't live in medieval times now do we?

  • @Deadlockedfan101,u totally lost my point there,i said the skill is being lost and since i posted that comment it has became even more apparent as i have joined an archery club, and now find it hilarious watching guys come in with all the latest and high tech gear try out my longbow and couldnt hit the blind side of a barn yet im every bit as accurate as they are.

  • @Deadlockedfan101 living in medieval times has nothing to do with it, it comes down to a personal choice, quite frankly i find the modern day bows are a bit like going to a hair dresser and getting a hair cut..all you do is sit there and the hair dresser does everything for you.

  • @broofer666 i totally agree with you. In fact i refuse to shoot compound or any other modern-like-bow. I will only shoot short and longbows. Infact iv made a couple for my self.

  • @broofer666 I couldn't agree more with you! Here in Belgium the compound bow is almost not found. We all use competition Recurve bows (yeah, with the stabilizers, but that's just for comfort and more consistency!) and we shoot as good if not better then all the compound guys!

  • @NaxTactical Here in England I shoot with a recurve and a compound and have just as much fun with both, but I do shoot them without any aids ie:- sights or stabilizers,we call it bear bows in the UK (nothing added)

  • @broofer666 i wana learn archery the original not all this improved crap the orginial

  • @broofer666 i agree it would be neat

  • @broofer666 ya i always wanted a longbow as my own...but u look up bows to buy and all they hav really r compounds

  • @cod5ptrsownage Dick's Supporting Goods sell longbows.

  • @edizkan alrite cool ill check it out

  • Comment removed

  • @cod5ptrsownage Hey there. I recently subscribed to bowhunt america (that is bowhuntamerica . com) Awesome resource for bow hunting. In their October issue, they have great reviews of traditional recurve bows. Both one piece and take-downs. I would suggest checking that out, since it gives links to all traditional bow makers in USA. My favorite company was blackwidowbows . com Awesome stuff.

  • @broofer666 I'll disagree. I train with the traditional recurve bow: No tech gadgets, it's just bow and arrow. But when it comes to hunting, you do need a bow that's easy to use and very accurate since 90% of the hunting is sit and wait for an animal that can be spooked even by your breathing. You have only one shot to kill the animal and put the arrow into the right place (like lungs for deer) or else, you would be sitting still for hours for nothing.

  • @edizkan iv never heard anything so rediculous!!!! when it comes to hunting you need a bow with all the gadgets??????what the hell do you think people have been hunting with for the last 2000 years????a compound bow??? oh wait is it a nice new kap recurve with glass limbs???the 'traditional bow' be it wood, bone whatever was invented for hunting way before an instrument of war,and as i said earlier gadgets only make it EASIER so as i also said the skill is gone.

  • @broofer666 It was "intented" for hunting when hunting was the only source of finding food. P
