ginamartino11: Produce no and most meat, no. If you want to price match Compliments (Sobeys) bacon, you CAN price match and buy the Great Value (Walmart) bacon. However, if you wanted to price match Maple Leaf bacon, you WOULD have to get Maple Leaf bacon from Walmart (not Great Value or another brand such as Schneider's).
when price matching fruit and meat at walmart does it have to be the exact same brand ? example if the bananas are from dole in no frills and its a diffrent brand in walmart can you still price match? b.c with the meat its a different brand from store to store.
I do a similar meal-planning thing but I plan for 3-4 weeks at a time (veggies are frozen or whatever is in season/on sale). I stock up on meat when it's on sale and freeze it. Another thing I do is freezer cooking on 1 weekend every 6-12 weeks. I'll make some pulled pork in the crockpot, a pasta casserole or two, some spaghetti sauce, a batch of soup, and a corn-bean-chicken taco filling (for example) and I've got enough prepared meals to give me a few extra go-to meals every week! :)
