  • Thanks for sharing these tips and tricks - very useful and time saving.

Dionyshs007 - if you are new to photoshop perhaps you should start with a beginners tutorial rather than go to tips and tricks for those who are familiar with Photoshop. This is not a bad tutorial - it is very clear, the voice is also clear and easy to understand. You made a bad choice of Tutorial!

  • bad tutorial... i dont even know where the buttons are...i am new at photoshop >.<

  • "Option-double click bg layer" to unlock bg layer, "command-plus" to zoom in, "hold down space bar" to toggle off/on the hand tool (these are great shortcuts I learned from this TUT). Narrated perfectly and the production quality is great!!!! Oh and thanks for the help! I will use these skills repeatedly in the future.

  • These video tutorials will teach you all the secret photoshop tips and tricks that will make you a pro - youtube.com/watch?v=wg-MqQwG5z4

  • Very useful tip. thanks for sharing.

  • Wow... They are still there.

  • I really can't get this to work, when i draw the line under the eyes, i get a wierd polygonal curve under the eye in a colour that's not the colour i selected. Can you help?

  • Acook59

Lesson nr1 people ought to tell you about Photoshop is that usually there's no magical quick fix that works 100% of the time.

Sometimes you need a little bit more work: Maybe you need the patch tool in your case. Maybe (with the healing brush) you need to set the mode to "lighten" or use the clone tool instead (more work but also more control).

And better would be (if you want to keep the initial texture) is to paint with a low opacity white brush on a new layer set to "overlay"

  • @acook59 Duplicate the layer - use the clonestamp tool to get rid of the eye bags - than reduce the opacity a bit.

  • or u can use ctr-j to duplicate

  • That was so fast & easy! AWESOME!

  • FINALLY....someone who can talk to beginners and explain from the beginning. Most people give tutorials as if EVERYBODY knows what to do or is familiar with ALL of the keys. Great job, I have subscribed and will continue watching your tutorials. Thanks a lot!!

  • I'm sorry, I meant "ctrl" instead of "command," there is no "option" key in Windows or Linux (using WINE) so w/ Photoshop either just double click, or use "alt." Hope this helps!

  • hmm.. Im using a pc, i have no option key

  • Use "ctrl" instead of "option" and it will work.

  • great, thanks for share

  • interesting i didnt know how to do that. and also, thanks for reminding me how to unlock layers i 4got a while ago :)

  • omg I love photoshop, and you are by FAR the best tutorial ive ever seen, I learned more just watching this segment, then I have watching every single episode of "you suck at photoshop" by donnie, thank you. I am going to go to your website right now

  • she skiped photoshop don't open that fast

  • It does with a Mac...

  • To make a copy of the layer just select it and press command + J. It's faster, plus your background stays locked.

  • its not exactly gone though is it lol I can still see it.

  • Very good tutorial. You actually explain and give instructions. A lot of people dont. They want to rush through it and you are left wondering how in the world did they do that. I hope to see more. I personally dont have PS, I use the turtorials on GIMP. Thanks.
