Most of Jesus' desciples hated Paul for that reason - which is why Rev. 2:2 was written. Who else was pretending to be an apostle? Only Paul the Pharisee.

If you consider homosexual acts "vile affections", if they were homosexuals God would not have to "give them up" to these affections. Read Paul's Letter as a Christian should - Paul is saying that HIS CHRISTIAN FOLLOWERS abandoned Christianity and returned to paganism - which is what Paul consider "vile" and "unnatural", etc. - not the homosexuality, but the abandonment of Christianity.

@handyman6042 (1) People like you take Romans 1 out of context, they leave off the reasons why Paul (or God) was upset and go directly to what (Paul thinks) God did without any regard to WHY - note that no where does Paul say that any sins were committed; (2) Paul (like all Pharisees) makes lists in several places, people like you look at 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy and say he is writing about "homosexuals", but any Bible scholar knows he was writing about male prostitution.

@handyman6042 - You would like to believe that Paul's Letter to the Romans condemns Gays and Lesbians, but if you read it from the beginning, Paul is condemning Christians who have returned to pagan religious practices (probably the Bacchanalia - which involves alcohol and men dancing naked with men - and women dancing naked with women). Paul calls it "unseemly" and against their nature as Christians, but not sinful. Paul says that "God" made them do this, because they were no longer Christian

Paul was no more "holy" than any Pope - but his letters are in the Bible because his writings are the foundation of the Catholic Church. However, Paul does not write (actually, Paul could not write, he had a Gay male scribe whom he loved) about homosexuality, he disliked prostitution and wrote that male prostitutes could not enter heaven.

There are many verses in the Bible that condemns anyone who uses the Bible to judge or condemn others. Historically, the Bible has been used to condemn Gays by the same people who use it to condemn Jews, Gypsies, African-Americans and other minorities for often the same reasons. A true Christian would notice that.

@type7android - Typical bigots. The Bible does not say ANYWHERE that homosexuality is a sin or that homosexuals are sinful. There was no such word in ancient Hebrew, Greek or Latin. There obviously were homosexuals, but there was no concept of people who are exclusively heterosexual or homosexual - everyone was expected to engage in both heterosexual and homosexual sex on occasion (especially while young). That was true of ancient Hebrews, Greeks and Romans.

@Atlavocat - That is what bigots do not understand. Anyone who has studied mythology knows that all but four of the ancient Greek and Roman gods had same sex lovers. Even Zeus had a boyfriend. The Greeks were famous for their naked Olympic games and the Spartans for their all-male army of lovers - and Jesus lived during that time, both Jesus and Paul were Helenistic Jews - yet there was no condemnation of homosexual sex acts by Jesus and Paul only hated sex (particularly prostitution).

Kid, you have to remember. The Bible is not that old. To think it is the word of god is a profound error. Jesus himself did not write a book. Men need a connection with spirit. Religion was invented by man as a way to do this, but basically remember that the Bible was written by a bunch of Jews as a way to control man and his woman. I live by the golden rule. Only those that are IN Christ Jesus are God's people. Everyone else (self included) is a spiritual child of Satan who dwells in blindness and spiritual separation (death) from God. These are they who reject the only way of salvation in order to gratify their fleshly desires. There is NO justification for fornication, theft, murder, or homosexuality.
