Well, after sailing my Hobie 18 for more than 20 years, I can safely say from seeing this clip, this is a neat boat. I watch him raise the Jib, he made it look easy. It's takes two men and strong woman to raise my Mylar sail and jib on my Hobie. I really like those Hiking seats too, I just wonder if it is a one person trailer to water kind of Cat, with regard rigging. It definitely looks faster & more stable than my HC18.
Can be sailed single handed especially with autohelm. Optimum racing crew is 3. All sails are indeed easy to hoist. Not what we call a trailer-sailer. It's a multihull yacht that can be trailed. It takes 3 men 4 hours to rig. Most people moor it and only trail it home for winter maintenance. Fast enough that sailing it 200 miles for a race, as we did from L'Orient to Port Medoc is a pleasure. Check out Ahoy-Boats web site.
Obviously wind was variable during the test sailing altogether but the maximum speed achieved was 18 knots, which is about the same as the wind speed was at the time. There is no doubt that this boat can go faster than this. The architect thinks possibly 28 knots but in the right hands and conditions it may be possible to get over 30 knots! Who will dare?
I wonder how she does against a Firefly?

I have been sailing this boat at 22 knots with spinnaker and felt very safe
It is more impressive when sailing upwind at 15 knots with 20 knots wind and 2 meters wave, the boat lifts and fly over the waves
