Isnt it funny that the rate of law suits for malpractice in America is so high. Believe me i know your doctors are among the tops in the world, cause im studying with alot of the seeds, and many impress me! In Norway we have free health care and almost no costs for malpractice! This is the main reason for the healthcare in states: No one trusts anyone.. We have unarmed police as well.. Its like Michael Jackson said.. Gotta take a look in the mirror. see the norwegian part from sicko the movie..
well, i expect the conservative republicans and random moore-haters will refuse to see sicko for whatever reason. i've seen it though, and medical matters really aren't political matters. every time my american relatives come over to norway they are so fascinated with the free healthcare thing we have here, and they are conservative republicans, some of them moore-haters as well.
Rich republicans traveling to Norway to scam some free healthcare, then they complain about Al's carbon footprint? the hipocrasy of it all! Thanks for the heads up on that!
hehe, i don't know that they're all that rich or that they complain about Al. i guess many republicans are wiser now than what they were voting for the dumbf**k in the white house.
HMO's argument that there are no queue in the health service in US is simply dumb!!! Of course there are not much people queuing up, because either they cannot afford to get one or they have been denied. Now 57 million Americans may die in their own home! Please wake up and stand up against this!!
Micheal Moore for PRESIDENT!! Godammit why do we not have people like him in office. i think America would smile allot better, and other countries would respect us and follow our lead. I would like to see this guys face in Mount Rush Moore day. HA HA Rush MOORE GET IT?
Ignorant sick people in this country think that US have the only best health care. I recently visited India with my grandfather for a heart surgery and stayed in a hotel where surgeon and doctors did follow up visits after the surgery. Everything cost my grandfather very affordable amount. Everything was well explained to the patient and family every second. Surgeon who did that surgery is one of the most experienced in cardiac surgeons in the world.
The results are in from the weekend -- and they are amazing! "Sicko" more than doubled what industry insiders had predicted it would do for the weekend and, as I predicted, it did indeed have the second largest opening weekend in film history for a documentary (after F911). It also had the second highest per screen average for the weekend (after the Pixar animated film, "Ratatouille").-email from mike 3july07
"sicko" is a must see why are conservatives on talk radio so against free health care,it is amazing to listen to them get their listeners to support policies that are against their best interest.
4.5 million is extremely high for a documentary or ANY movie to make on opening weekend in only 400 theaters, big Hollywood movies open in 2,000 theaters and they spend 20 million advertising. The only thing you're saying is more people should be saying "we"
Actually we SHOULD question it because that what democracy is all about, otherwise the rich overfed will run the show. Our country is #37 in the world in health care, we MUST question it.
Its not a big screen film, its costs are minimal. No special effects, no big name actors. So unlike other films its money is almost pure profits, so someone calling it a flop is a bit stupid especially when you take into count DVDs and TV rights. :)
Oh by the way we have free health care in my country.
If the media remains fixated on Paris Hilton; then what we need to do is to get a parade of activists to follow her around town with signs like "Universal Health Care for all" or "End the War in Iraq" or "Impeach Cheney and his puppet"
then our side will get the 24/24 attention that we deserve.
Here in Mexico if you are poor IMSS is certanly awful, doctors don't care about their patients and the patients can't sue the doctors as you can in your country, so the doctors can do almost everything and never been punished.
Mr. Moore you have my respect and I wish we had here in Mexico someone like you, with no limits to say what is wrong and to try to make a change in the system.
I'm sure you're doing a great work for your country.
Great video. Thanks for posting it. I live in Canada so I can't write my congresman but I would like to do something to help get universal health care in America.
Everyone: I just wrote a letter to my congressman, urging him to improve our health system, and I haven't lived in the US for 4 years (though still a US citizen). If I can do something, so can you. If you walk out Sicko hoping that you'll get better health care, but then do nothing, then you will have wasted the momentum created by this film. We must act now if you want change!

Right on Michael; the goppers fear you, some are so scared they refuse to even take the time to see your excellent work...
