I havnt made any ATCS yet, but Im going to, they look like lots of fun. I've learned so much about them though, that I sort of have my own opinion, like, as for selling them, I think it's just fine to sell them, as long as theres no copyrighting going on. Sort of how you have to buy your first set of baseball, or pokemon cards before being able to trade them :)
It is a bit different here though, cause you can actually make your own, but yeah
Hello there and thanks so much for your question! I would proberbly use a little extra glue if I was mailing the card, but even using the amount I have on the demo, I've had no problems with everything staying put :)
You inspired me to discover ATCs and I love them! Thanks for being so easy to understanding and motivating. P.S. I did some research at atcsforall (dot com) and you can sell the cards - only when you sell them they are called "ACEO" which means 'Art Cards, Editions, and Originals' and they are virtually the same as ATCs, EXCEPT they were created with the intent to be sold.
Thanks so much for your comment - it's much appreciated!
I have been creating & trading ATC's for many years now & I have found that as long as I use good quality glue stick & Scotch double sided tape, everything stays in place really well :) If you use Crafters Pick glue to stick on the embellishments, they will never escape! I also like to put my ATC's into a clear envelope & that protects the card.
what type of glue or adhesive do you have to use for these cards? And can you use any paper for these? LIke cardstock, pattern paper, cardboard paper from cereal boxes? And finally what do you do with these cards?
Wonderful video. In a way I tend to agree with kackierose about the atc rules. Although I'm new to this art form, I've always heard that they are never supposed to be sold. But hey, rules were meant to be broken LOL :) Have a wonderful weekend and please keep on posting.
Kackierose needs to chill and do some research. Going to one website doesn't make her an expert. Apparently art cards go back quite a long time. Theyre not the original idea of Swiss artist, Stirnemann. They were revived in current format in Switzerland, not Sweden. MANY people sell them, but theyre called aceo's when sold. Look up aceo on google and ebay. Anyway... annoying when people start scolding, but don't have their facts straight.
I really like this video at my school we are making these and we are really doing good these are so much fun to do. Can anyone tell me if you are supposed to have a theme for your card because everyone has different opinions thanks again bye!
Thanks so much for your answer to my question. So I should use stuff that's not copyrighted if I am going to send to someone else? Even if I don't charge?
artist trading cards were not created in the 1600s honey type artist trading cards into google and see how the Swedish artist created them, you should research before you make ridicules comments!
Great video! I love the gold reynolds wrap! I have never seen it or heard of it but I'll have to try and find it now. Thanks for sharing your fantastic work!
you know what ever. its morally wrong. read the original site. the idea came from a Swiss artist who only wanted them to be traded as a sample or a taste of an artists work! maybe you should do your homework!
I couldn't find Reynolds wrap in Gold in their product listing - at least not in America. Where did you get it? Is it really manufactured by Reynolds? Does it come in a roll or sheets?
For those intersted: foil from Beauty supply stores might work. I think it comes in different colors.
Absolutely positive it's Reynolds - I'm looking at the box right now :) I should point out however that I was given a box of these foil sheets years ago & my friend found it in a restaurant supply warehouse if that helps.
I just bought the same book a couple of weeks ago and I am new to atc's. I recommend the book also, it has lots of cool techniques and lots of detail.
HI! omg your atc cards are super awesome !!!! omgosh i wish i could make one like that ... hey can i know where you get all your vintage photos ??? thx
Thank you for responding to my previous comment. I just have to say; you're an amazing instructor - and very relaxing and patient in the way you demonstrate your crafts. Thank you for the ATC demo, it's less intimidating for me now. I think I'll try one this weekend. Thank you.
My question is the same as the one below me; how do you find others to trade with?

You use so little glue making your card-does everything stay on well, when you just sweep with the glue stick?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
How sad you find it acceptable to sell ATCs.

As far as I know, you can do whatever you like, so long as it fits onto the ATC :) Have fun!
gypsysoulcreations 2 years ago
Artist trading cards are supposed to be an expression of your creativity so you don't necessarily need to have a theme if you don't want to.

Thank you so much for your great demo video.
I have a question. Can one use items cut out of magazines or is there some copyright infringement if one were to do that? Thanks.
angelstar22 2 years ago
I think as long as you are using magazine images for your own personal use, then you should be ok. Hope that helps :)
