  • He obviously isn't lip synching he just had to cancel the rest of his tour. I just saw them on 8/6 in Atlantic City and 9/10 in Newark and both performances were amazing, but there were times where he was too tired to sing a few lines here and there,so obviously he wasn't lip synching either time and he was just AMAZING! Rest assured STP fans our front man does not lip synch!!!!! BTW he has sanf Crackerman for 20 years now. You don' t think he can still sing it on the ground?????

  • Closing the case:

he was lip-syncing a backing track. This backing track is on a lower volume level and WITHOUT the Megaphone sound. of COURSE the backing track is without the megaphone…it’s safety! That way Scott feels free to use or not the Megaphone while singing the song, and that´s why you do not listen to the Megaphone while he is down( and that explains also why his voice volume drops a little during his time on the ground).[...]

  • @junior311

[...] An A picture of him with a mic on his mouth doesn’t prove anything. Except the fact that he was determined to mantain the lie. People say “look at this picture here…of course he was singing”. Well, this is at least extremely naive.

STP is my fav band since1993 and forever will be, no matter what, but Scott Weiland is sadly already dead and for sale. Let’s face it.

  • you heard the mic hit...would anyone actually think he had the mic on and not singing?

  • As I stated before I don't think he was lip syncing. However until you've stepped into his shoes. Don't try to cast stones. I would like to see you tour for over a year, working your ass and vocal cords every night.

  • I don't believe that he was lip syncing, but even if he did who the fuck cares? We know he can really sing, just listen to his unplugged concerts with STP. He's one of the best front men alive today. Scott has payed his dues, and doesn't have to defend himself to anyone.

  • @lacysims88 Doesn't matter. People pay to go see STP and hear them live. A recorded vocal track is not live. Save that for the pop stars.

  • plus... did any of the sensationalist drama queens who cried lip synching stop to think for a second that he didn't climb back up until a break in the lyrics? I mean there were like 3 or 4 dudes trying to help him up who just sat, staring at him. You don't think he was down there with one finger in the air saying "hold on just a sec?"

  • i was there...and i was aroused

  • ITS STONE TEMPLE JUMPERS :)

    starring Drop Weiland

    hahaha just joking

  • he prob just kept singing when he fell... did you notice the singing got a shit ton quieter and less intense when he fell?

  • Go Vesuvias!

  • i was there an he wasnt on anything jus misjudged his step haha an cage the elephant was there too. badass concert

  • lip sync

  • And we all know that Scott is never the most sober man on stage, so the sync so persectly to a backing track would be even more obvious.

I reckon he was on the floor giving a smile and singing to the fans in the front row and just having fun with it...

  • He could have completely carried on singing with that fall because he's done crazy dance and jump moves all throughout his career and I've always respected the fact that his vocals remain solid.

Also, look at the singin before the fall - you can tell when he alternates between the megaphone and microphone that thats his own voice, not a backing track, because his voice fades as he pull the megaphone away. Its too difficult to sync so perfectly if it was a backing track.

  • man i thought this was a ROCK band... fucking shame.

  • who cares scott weiland is the definition of a rock star

  • he was fucking lip sinking that fuck

  • Sorry pilot fans but he should of stayed with Velvet Revolver and the Greatest guitar player of all time

  • Who gives a shit, stp still rocks

  • Comment removed

  • I saw him last night in Charlotte: No lip-synching. When I was leaving I could only hear the monitors and not the instruments off the walls and could clearly hear that it was his voice and not the recording from 10+ years ago.

It's easy to be a hater.

  • Lip sync or backing track.....call it what you want, but wither way, its BULLSHIT! All these bands start their careers off by playing LIVE. No track in the background helping the lead singer get through the song. This goes for so many bands. As soon as they hit it big, for some reason they feel the need to have a vocal track playing behind them.

  • Oops. Sounds like it to me.

  • his mic wasn't turned on. if his mic was on then you would have heard the mic pop when he fell. also, if his mic was on you would have heard him hit the ground.

  • what a dick nose... ever hear of nirvana? fail.

  • busted.

  • I love Scott!!At least he is a real man who gets up and goes on.He doesnt cry about it,i bet on it that the most off you losers would who are laughing about this.

    Scott is HOT!!!!!!!!1

  • There's actually a difference between lip-syncing & the use of backing tracks. Lip-syncing is total production of vocals during a gig with the mic completely off & used as nothing more than a prop. Backing tracks are used to account for fluctuations in live vocals. ALOT of acts do this. Everyone from KISS to Eminem. I wouldn't go so far as saying Weiland was lip-syncing, but he was MOST DEFINITELY using a backing track. Doesn't make him any less of a pro than anyone else. STP is cool.

  • If you'll notice, there was no megaphone on his voice after he fell. If he were singing to a track, the megaphone effect would still be there.

  • Scott Weiland Rocks Forever

  • he is a heroin attick! thats why all there shows are gettting postponed!

  • jesus fucking christ, who cares!!!

  • 1:28 hahahahaha

  • HA HA HA Milli Vanilli!!!!!!!!!!

  • He's still sexy

  • People please...take a look at the opening song, heaven and hotrods at red rocks a month or so ago. Its clear that he totally screwed this song up and there were no tracks behind him at all. He's a freaking pro...even if he messes up the opening song at the best venue in the country...that's what makes him Scott.

  • @ilovethebrits

    Yeah right. Good try.

  • when he's sober he falls, go figure!!

  • You've seriously gotta be really ignorant to vocalism to think Weiland is lip-synching here. He even sings different notes to the one on the core CD, I laugh even harder at people who think that there's a Core album vocal backing track being played. You must seriously be out of your minds, or haven't listened to Core since it came out.

  • @bestofthebox

What are you guys, hired by the band? Stop trying to play us for the fool you tools! STP got caught with backing vocal tracks!

  • @MrLeagueOJustice your an idiot, Robert Deleo is obviosly singing, and scott even though fell is singing, why do you think he waited til the solo to get up moron

  • @Metalstryke

Sorry, not fooled here. And ps, 'your' is spelled 'You're"

  • @MrLeagueOJustice you don't know much about vocals if you truly think those are backing tracks.. hell, look at the video of maynard (of tool) fighting a fan onstage while singing the song pushit.. he still sounded nearly dead-on while putting a fan in a suplex wrestling hold. falling down and singing is much easier than wrestling and singing. scott weiland is a pro, 'nuff said.

  • @bestofthebox

Yes Scott is a pro. I wont dispute that.

  • Fail. Alice In Chains Much? lip sync fail dick face

  • He kept singing! Scott Weiland is not the kind of frontman that would use lip sync. They waited to the solo of dean to pick him up, bcuz he stood down there singing !

  • @DUKEMAGO812

    Fraid not.

  • Glad Scott's ok. I love STP. Did he say anything about the fall after the song ?

  • Hey it happens to the best of us. Take it in stride and keep going. Scott's vocal was not pre recorded. He likley landed on his feet maybe took a little roll. But this is a front man that is used to being active and moving around so I'm certain hes jumped at least this far before. Kudos for keeping it going.

  • Well, in my opinion sirs, I really couldn't give a shit if he died falling off stage.... I'm sure ass hell glad that Paul from slipknot died... aweful people like Aaron Lewis, stp, slipknot, led leplin, the who, bb king, pink floyed, aaron lewis, lisa loeb, majic johnson, nuchekke spegetti. and once this fith. Long live the Joggulo Hollocaust. ... Sangri la mutha fuck, ect, ect. Seriously , i bet you all live in one big pool house mansion sippin on drinks like it anint no thang.... well naw what

  • milli vanilli

  • what is this milli vanilli?

  • One of the best voices in rock in the last twenty years. Nobody can hardly touch his vocals, Chris Cornell and Weiland are in a league of their own.

  • @cyberian2007 ya because others are GOOD

  • He so was fucking singing on the ground I was 5 ft from him He is a true fucking pro! I came here to clear the air on this shit. Anyone else that was there will verify.

  • @BDuv1 Exactly. Had he stopped singing, the band would've stopped playing. He kept singing, and the DeLeos and Kretz took that cue to mean to keep going. Btw, every show (Vegas, even) that I've been to where something like this happens, and it turns out everyone's alright, the audience seems to love the performers even more. Audiences can be really cool sometimes!

  • Lip syncing for sure but I know he has a great live voice so it doesn't really matter :D

  • He was lip synching.people. It's obvious. And if you want to throw bones over it I will pussies!

  • Also, when a band member falls of stage and potentially injures himself, you don't continue playing the song... You stop and see if he's alright to continue the show. The only reason the band is continuing to play the song is because if they stop, his vocals will keep on playing through the pa. But whatever man, this is common. It's no reason to stop liking STP.

  • He's obviously lip synching. I'm a semi-professional musician and this sort of thing happens more often than you think. My singer in my own band contemplates lip synching anytime his vocal chords are feeling rough. People pay money to watch these shows so you obviously have to "perform" well. How could he possibly be singing perfectly in cue seconds after falling off stage? He should be gasping for air. Vocalists are frequently auto tuning their voices when recording and lip synching on stage...

  • Anyone who thinks Scott lip syncs is an IDIOT.

Search for "Stone Temple Pilots Big Empty Jimmy Kimmel"

  • To use backing tracks the drummer has to play to a click track, this is when you know they are faking it by the drummers use of headphones. If you were to play this track along side other performance's and if they are bang on time its played to a click. But this is no good because you can not see scott after the fall, how bad was the fall he still could be holding the mic, its not impossible to sing into it.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA this is way too obvious

  • I AM I AM I AM A LIP SYNCER,A LIP SYNCER! MIMING ALL THE TIME MIMING ALL THE TIME YEAH I DONT PLAY LIVE THATS NOT MY GAME I JUST SHOOT HEROIN AND PLAT TO BACKIN TAPES YEAH YEAH I AM I AM A LIP SYNCER BACKIN TAPES RULE MY WORLD MY BAND ARE EVEN NOT PLUGGED IN OHH YEAH YEAH I AM A LIP SYNCER A LIP SYNCER LIP SYNCING IS MY LIFE OH YEAH GIVE ME MORE HEROIN YOU ASS FANS! WE LIP SYNC.
  • I used to b a huge stp fan. Not anymore. They clearly got caught backlinning.

  • I am an STP fan, its really hard to argue the video evidence here. I can't imagine someone falling like this is being able to continue singing perfectly like nothing happened. And if he was fine enough to sing, why not get right back up?

  • Lip-sync? no

    Playback? yes

  • If STP is going to start lip syncing, I want lower ticket prices.

  • Radiohead

  • After Scott does a face first dive into the ground below the stage, the vocals continue without a hitch. I've seen STP 3 times since they reunited and half to say that those are his vocals continuing sounding as if they are off the Core CD. I know it's not Robert singing background vocals as Scott's are unmistakable. Also look at Dean Deleo throughing up his hands in frustraction at 2:49 toward the STP sound crew, while the guitar is still playing, in frustration that they did not stop the

  • cocaine's a hell of a drug

  • If he was lip-syncing, don't you think the voice would sound the same as it does on the record? It doesn't make sense that he would record a vocal track pre-tour, why not just sing? I believe he doesn't use trickery. I believe Scott Weiland is an amazing singer, and perhaps has the professional attitude it takes to sing after falling. I am a little surprised that the band kept playing, though. Just seems weird.

  • 1:27 ahah...poor scott....no playback... he is a superman that can sing the verse during the falling in the hole..

it's sad imagine that he was waiting the solo for coming back on stage....

  • Scott doesn't lip sync at all, you HAVE to be kidding. I just saw them last week and was front center . . . NO lip sync. I love that he kept singing even from the pit.

  • Scott doesn't lip sync at all, you HAVE to be kidding. I just saw them last week and was front center . . . NO lip sync. I love that he kept singing even from the pit.

  • lip synching??? No way. When he stood on the stage he mixed microphone singing with a megaphone. Please notice that after a fall he only sings to a microphone. And you can´t here megaphone. Get it??? Scott is the MAN.

  • @fuckinlayne Exactly right. Such an obvious point. Sad that it's lost on so many of these douchers that insist he lip synched.

  • I like stp. But he was def lip synching.

  • Play Back!

  • hahaha

  • Scott Weiland is a stupid motherfucker. Now everyone knows that he was lip synching lol

  • The other members were civering vocals for him. They don't lip sync, not even close.

  • no offense but anyone who concludes that he's lip-syncing from this video is a) not an STP fan and wants the band to fail or b) likes to base conclusions on inconclusive evidence. this video doesnt show scott weiland lip syncing, nor is there any other indication of a vocal track.

did anyone consider the fact that after he fell he just continued singing? after all he didnt hoist himself back on to the stage until another break in the song.

  • the fag was lip synching.

  • sigh

  • in case anyone needed more proof of weiland sucking cock hard

  • dont forget guys, milli vanilli lip synched too

  • lol BUSTED!!

  • the sound man forgot to cut the backing tape as he fell lol he is probably fired now poor guy!!

  • inconclusive if not slightly suspicious mmmmmmmmmm

  • MAKERTING

  • It's so obvious there's no playback that it makes me feel ashamed of those ones claiming there was a backing track. @CoveMusic: there's no "bullhorn voice" when he leaves it!! Are you deaf or what?? Listen at 1:10, he's singing live, the voice is far from perfect, sounds very different from the studio track, and you can hear the mic popping when he falls and a change in sound (from the "basement"). I think they acted very professionally!!

  • @ecan yeah, what he said. people just like hyping up stupid shit. it pisses me off that over the years people have really hoped for STP to fail... pretty much as long as ive been a fan of the band ive noticed the backlash.

  • @ 2:42 he somehow manages to make the "bullhorn voice" without the bullhorn?

  • Where exactly did he fall? Backing track or not, its stupid to put something in the way of the performers.

  • he a freakin loser. that band sucks

  • im going to write a song about this and call it heroin puppet

  • @mdf072 heroin puppets, i'm pulling your strings, twisting your mind and smashing your dreams, blinded y me you can't see a thing, just call my name and i'll hear you scream...lolz

  • Lol, what an idiot. Fail of a band for using lip syncing.

  • Well, I'll not judge anything, but, fans normally accept anything that comes from theirs loved artists.

But one thing for sure, if I was in a show from my favorite band and discovered they're were not really playing I would be pi****, c'mon, it's a LIVE performance, that's why we go out to see our favorite bands, other way round just watch a dvd!!

And hey, shows are way too much expensive for us to be cheated!!

  • @progshine completly agreed

  • my least favorite grunge band is phony hahaha

  • saw them in pittsburgh last night...EPIC FAIL SCOTT! You could not hear any vocals...either they need to hang it up or they need to fire their sound guy.

  • LOL, scott's back on the H, that's why he was booted from VR in case you didn't know. Slash and the others have been clean for years but scott just could not kick it...and there have been tons of complaints from both reviewers and fans from their previous shows after the reunion about his singing off key -- and looking wasted. It's really sad that it's come to this though -- search for their MTV unplugged shows, he sounded so amazing then...it's sad what he's become.

  • @surgeyX , i thought he sounded pretty good in that clip.

  • @JMillerbigass

What? This one or the unplugged one?

It's pretty damned obvious he's lip syncing in this one lol...he fucking falls off stage and you dont hear a thud on the mic or anything and he just keeps going...there's NO way anyone could do that, and I bet if you asked someone who was close and could see exactly when he fell off if he was still singing they would probably say no.

  • @surgeyX , this one, at least until he fell. And you do hear a thud on the mic. And everyone who was there and actually saw Scott said they could see him still singing, several of whom have posted on this thread. Like I said before, nobody records guide vocal tracks singing flat or with inconsistent volume.

  • what song is this??

  • @urgs14 , Crackerman.

  • i dont think he was lip syncing. they probably play his vocals behind his real vocals to fill it out better..

  • Anyone saying that's lip synching is a total fucking idiot. I am a professional musician, and one thing I've learned about singers who use tracks is that the whole reason they use them is so they don't sound out of tune or have inconsistent volume. Notice that Scott's voice got quieter for the first few seconds, and he was a little out of tune.

So no, morons, it wasn't lip synching...it's what you call "professionalism."

  • @JMillerbigass HAHAHA

  • @JMillerbigass

you must be some kinda special musician then.

  • I wasn't at the show but from what I've gathered on the internet the people in the middle of the stage front row could look left and see it all... All of them have clearly stated that he actually stayed on point the whole time. No lip sync or backing tracks. Check your facts before making a conclusion based on one shity video... When another video or better pics of this incident emerge, all you haters can get off his nutz! You guys will have actually proven how kick ass Weiland is. THUMBS UP!

  • @nephewofpop I always knew youtube comments were retarded, but you can't be serious? You are telling us to check facts when you admit you were NO WHERE NEAR the show? Wow. I'd point out the irony there, but I'm pretty sure you don't know what the word irony means. We are all stupider for having read your post nephewofpop. I award you 0 points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

  • @MrEpiclyrandom But do Motley Crue really do it?

they may have done between Theatre Of pain and Girls Girls Girls as thats the point of when they were at the pincle of drug use. Dont get me wrong or take offence im saying there is a high chance they dont anymore as they aren't drugged up anymore.

  • Only a cheap, half-baked atrist mime to his/her own songs :\

  • I wondered the same thing when I saw it happen. ( I was there too).

However, I did notice that he didn't get back on the stage until there was a break in the vocals, sooooo maybe he was singing from down there. Either way, it was still a really great show!

  • what a disgrace to the music industry these blokes are. LIP SYNCHRONIZING. Please do not beleive this BS that he fell off stage and KEPT SINGING bwahahahaha get real

  • I think those 5-6 stagehands know for sure.....

  • hhhahahahahahhhhahahah He Sucks!!

  • the people in the front row cant even see him, how can they say they saw him keep singing. Look how hard he falls. When he would be hittin the ground, not even a second later he's singing perfect pitch not missing a note. yeah rite.

  • Uh-oh spaghetti-o's!

  • there is no way Scott Weiland, one of the best frontmen out there, is lip synching. The man is a true professional and obviously stayed down in the pit to finish the verse and THEN got back up on stage. He was singing & moving fine the rest of the show. I've seen STP & Scott many times and there is no way he is lip synching. Obviously the haters have not been to a show where he's changed the lyrics or sung differently from city to city.

  • Comment removed

  • I've seen Scott perform several times. He's slipped & hit hit head right in front of me and he kept singing. That's just how he is. He's a real rockstar. This man, is one of THE best performers!! He'd get slammed for "forgetint lyrics" or said the lines wrong... Now he's getting slammed for being a pro & continuing to sing?? You people are just too much.

Thank God he couldn't care less about what anyone thinks. A weaker person would've given up on trying to prove themselves to you people.

  • Scott Weiland has never nor will ever lip synch.

  • @Loungefly37

Yeah I agree, these people are just conspiracy theorists out to ruin his name. If you fall you can clearly still sing even though it would be pretty much impossible to talk properly, let alone sing. Even though the crew was helping him you could still sing. I mean, who needs a mic to sing right? Hell, if you fall and you're still singing in tune... you've gotta be great!

    Fudging conspiracy theorists... those fudgers.

  • @cjk100000 hahahaha conspiracy theorists.. are you some kind of junkie idiot?

And what if he is really lip synching? Its like an unfalsifiable hypothesis - cant prove it unless you ask the right man.

  • @konkelberryfinn

Well I guess my sarcasm went over your head, can you not read the sarcasm that is dripping from what I am saying?

    Epic fail.

  • @cjk100000 well you seemed really serious

  • @konkelberryfinn

Well you interpreted it as serious.

I checked my post with my friend and he immediately said "lol @ sarcasm", so I know it wasn't a fuckup on my part.

  • I'm just gonna say he had a great recovery. That's why he waited for the solo to get back onstage, he was still singing.

  • I was in the pit about 5 feet from where it happened. Scott didn't miss a beat, he still rocks!!

  • Haters gunna hate. STP fucking rocks.

  • @MiniDiscProducer --- Hopefully this current misfortune will be set straight and made right in timely fashion..... Next they will be saying that he doesn't even write all the songs he takes credit for...

  • theres a playback, a low one tough. Its just like when you doubble vocals during recording sessions. You can hear that the first line after the fall is really low. Then he managed to sing otherwise everyone would notice. And then, the vocals get louder. The guy is talentes, everyone double vocals, including John Lenon and Kurt cobain. But they didnt do it live tough

  • LOL 1:24

    and RENAME VIDEO omg :)

  • FRAUDS! They were bandwagon jumpin' grunge sell outs anyway so this is no surprise.

  • Having been there, and seen and HEARD it, its obvious that some people don't have ears or were not there. While I will agree its hard and nearly imposible to hear in the video, those who were sober and there could hear the mic fall. I also happened to be at the end of the speaker stack and could SEE Scott singing behind the speakers. I ran over there because like many I thought it was strange to here him and not see him after that fall. I could see him singing, and oh yeah the bass sings too

  • Change the name of the video!

  • I know it's messed up BUT TRUE.

  • I was there he was not singing. I know it's messed BUT TRUE.

  • I'm with MiniDiscProducer. The video may look deceptive, and it's unfortunate, but the people who were really in the pit when it went down know what's up. No way was there any inauthenticity to this performance, should have gotten a plaque for it... Definitely kicked ass, period. Take the word of people that were actually there who witnessed it first hand... Dude is for real.

  • PLAYBACK

  • I've seen STP several times live and Weiland's vocals always sound a little different show to show. He DOESN'T use backing tracks. I've seen him hoarse, sober, drunk, drugged, and perfect, and his voice is a bit different each way.

  • I love STP, but it's ashame most of the band members are assholes in person.

  • @gpz108 He did not use the bullhorn during the song, which explains the vocals staying the same. And there are pictures out where you can CLEARLY see Scott singing down there while security is pulling him up.

  • Idiots. I was at the show... in the pit. Not only does he miss a line in the second chorus (would that be on a back track too?) there is also no megaphone present (which tumbled to the ground when he did). Want further proof?

Hit these awesome pics up from the show. 2nd to last pic shows him rocking it out in the pit before the solo. Dude is a rock God. Deal with it!

  • @KjWar Where's the pics?

  • LAME!! LMAO.....all those suckers bought tix to the most expensive karaoke show ever! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Sucks cuz I was gonna go see em', but forget it now! LOL

  • play back????

  • Comment removed

  • Glad he's OK - saw them in Philly this year, AWESOME show.

  • Its hard to tell for sure. He's been singing and preforming for a LONG time. I doubt this is the first time he's even fallen while on stage or something has happened where he had to sing through adversity.

sucks if its true though, but you can't really tell.

  • i love STP, but is clear that he lip-synced

  • Ashley Simpson didn't get away with it, neither will Scott Weiland. No excuse.

  • Vocal tracks fo sho. Busted.
