  • extra bite, cute lol

  • heh anyon notice the tube logo is verry similar to that of youtube?

  • Can’t figure out if this pedal (Maxon TB0-9), the "Effectrode Tube Drive”, the “Effectrode Fire Bottle” or possibly something else would be best bet for ‘real-tube’ driven pedal used 2 boost a tube amp. Maybe even the Effectrode Tube-Vibe or Delta-Trem used 4 boost? All these pedals sound great on vid. - but can’t find any of them in stores to test out. I’m mainly after tone & sustain behaving like drive is hi but it’s really not. EL84.Brit.VOX.1974x.AngusYoung.low drive.hard hitting low-mids...

  • Hi, i just wanted to know that this tube can broke? do you need to change the tube in it? (later...)

  • I have this pedal, and it's one of the best boosts/ODs I've played so far. Running it into a Matamp, so I wanted to make sure I was only boosting my amp's beautiful tone, not squashing it or destroying it in any way. This thing does just that.

This pedal runs at 30 volts, off of its own power adapter. So you really are getting true pre-amp tube tone.

  • is it played on a clean amp or on a clean amp? (before 3.18)

  • No TOD-9 test ? It would have been useful to be able to compare TBO-9 and TOD-9.

  • whats the song in the start?

  • @sebasdive out on the tiles - Led Zeppelin

  • Has anyone noticed that the "Tube" graphic on the pedal is equal to the YouTube graphic?

Can this pedal upload videos? ahah

    Great demo btw...

  • @frenzexperiment lol yes, strangely similar

  • is this a transparent pedal?

  • @satjathamma very

  • its sounds metalic and artificial.. maybe.. to me..

  • I wish Maxons weren't so damn expensive. I like this, the Hardwire tube drive, and the Hardwire Valve Dist. I'm gonna get one of those 3.

  • @theShowStopper321 Maxons are expensive because their pedals compete with boutique ones in terms of quality.

  • dam this pedal sounds great i have a vox and i want it to sound a bit heavier so i think this would be a good addition :D

  • Would this be good for playing classical music? If I hear another dumb ass question like this one...I'm gonna punch you

  • Not, cheap, however, they have not let me down yet, it is worth it even if it takes 2 years to save up the dough to buy a Maxon.

  • how many pokemon cards would I have to trade someone for one of these?

  • good , nice , compression!!

    ummm i want it

  • would this be good for van halen?

  • maybe if u already had some gain on your amp and just used this as a boost but alone im not sure it has enough distortion

  • @mikejoanderson NO , so makes it useles for you as well !

  • Ok, lots of tube questions. It is a military sub-miniature tube designed in the 1950s to be used on guided missiles before transistors were readily available and reliable. It was designed to run at much lower plate voltages (hence the 30 Vpp) and take something like 10,000 g's. It was also designed to have a crazy long life cycle. It should last several decades before needing replacement. Vacuum Tube Valley ran an article on these little guys several years ago.

  • Sounds pretty good. From what I am reading the tube contributes no distortion to the sound. All the clipping is solid state. They should be clear about that.

  • This one or OCD??

  • OCD is a lot cheaper, but this one uses real tubes and has a lot more high end. Your choice.

  • get both then return the one u dont want

  • apparantly there is a LED behind the tube in this pedal, because it runs the voltage to low for the tube to make any use.

  • the tube works just fine..the led is just to show you when its on or off...!!!

  • drooldrooldrooldrooldrooldrooldrooldrooldrooldrool

  • Hey Andy,

Does this one clean up with the guitar volume like a cranked tube amp?

  • Out On The Tiles!!!! Viva Led Zeppelin

  • This pedal is like a tube amp in a box.

  • @TheGamingGuitarist no its not. i tried this one, the blackheart tube pedals, the tone bone one, and some generic one. all through a solid state amp. for every sound i wanted, a reguler overdrive pedal sounded better and richer. and nothing even came CLOSE to a real tube amp. :( im just going to have to save. . .

  • I have a couple of questions Andy (some already asked but not replyed):

-Can this pedal set up boost cleans too (like a clean channel)?

-About the tube, likely to be replaced someday I suppose. It's easy to find and remove/put a replacement there?

I gig a lot so the last question is essential to me, thank you guys! :-)

  • This sounds good, i wonder how much of it is the amp. Nails a good tube od.

  • So the only difference between this and the TOD-9 is that this can give you clean tones as well?

  • concidencia? o maxon le copio la parte de "tube" a "youtube", chequen la pic... saludos.

  • The logo Reminds me of You Tube

  • 23658927364018 times better than the ts-9

  • You can't say that. A tubescreamer has a midhump or honk - This one hasn't. Two different beasts.

We're some that absolutely love our tubescreamers.

  • are you sure that it is not 23658918364019 times better?

  • if it have a real tube sound or not i don´t know, but sounds fucking good to me

  • Actually Its very tubish. Theres a tube on it.

  • so you think that the tubes runs the distortion/drive???and so you think that the higher voltage(30V DC as claim on their site) lights up the tube filaments??

    I don't think so man!

  • Dang Andy you must have the coolest job on earth.Trying out the best toys on earth. If Jesus were to have a job it would be this.I want this pedal.i want your job.And all of the toys at the store.

  • wow you got the black sabbath tone almost right on with just the drive and no boost.

  • I've been waiting to hear these little monsters, I'm hoping that the tone is worth the price. I can't anyone who carries these yet but I'm very very curious.

  • ummm... we carry them. Thus the video. They are on our website.

  • I meant so that I could try them out myself, I know you cats have them. You dudes always have the coolest stuff. I'd just like to try one out myself. Keep up the killer demos.

    A.C.

  • Andy you have the coolest job on earth.Trying out the coolest toys every day.If Jesus were to have a job on earth it would be this.I want this pedal.I want all of the gear from the store.I want your job!!!

  • Jesus had a job while he was on earth...a carpenter... till he was 30.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos There are none on your website.

  • @TheBlackCrayon77 Yes... if only there was an online guitar shop where you could actually buy one of these... I wonder where the guys who made the video got theirs?

  • What kinda tube is it?

  • sounds awesome

  • your favorite setting with the les paul sounds AMAZING

  • This thing is beautiful!

  • That pedal is just a repackaged turbo ts9dx

  • exactly, beside the fact that this sounds way much better

  • libertyfalls (5 months ago)

"That pedal is just a repackaged turbo ts9dx"

Show me TS9DX that sounds that good. I have one (DX) and even after a couple of mods, it still is nowhere near this thing. 2 Different beasts completely.

  • I'll put a Hardwire Valve Distortion up against any of them. This is a cool sounding pedal, though.

  • @marknettles. wow... I cant believe you actually said that...

  • Me either...the more I listen to this pedal the more I like it! I recently got a Lovepedal Provalve 2 from Pro Guitar Shop and it has become my new favorite OD. It's not cheap, but well worth the money. Check out Andy's demo of it.

  • "Both the tube and solid-state sections of the circuit are fed with 30 volts DC thanks to the TOD-9s internal voltage regulators."

    Off their webbie..

  • Wow!! Is the tube user replaceable?

  • Woohoo! Out on the Tiles! Thank you Pro Guitar Shop for playing songs we all know and love!

  • Hey Andy! Thanks for the cool demo! Is it true that pedals w/ tubes in them are sort of a gimmick because the tubes can't operate at their optimum voltage, and many other pedals already use IC's that do a good job of simulating tube clipping and harmonics? Does a TubeScreamer type pedal sound just as good to your ears?

  • those kinds of questions loose business son ;)

  • Like someone mentioned already, the tubes are running at a higher voltage unlike other "starved" tube units. The tube tone is less compressed and without the mid hump of a TS. Whether that's better is up to you and your rig :)

  • @codyt5 that is true unless you buy a ibanez tube king. it runs at full high voltage and is beast. and it has a full size tube

  • the pedal looks like its made my youTUBE lol

  • the pedal looks like its made by you TUBE lol

  • cool pedal

  • Yummy tube overdrive.

  • that looks so badass...hope it doesn't break too easily though...
