YOur SHiba looks just like mine-like almost identical!!! My Shiba kicks my German SHepherd off the couch all the time and the shepherd looks at me like what did I do, mom? My Shiba is also a total bed hog, too and eats like a PIG!!

lol yeah, that's how they are. they're very territorial and like to claim everything in the house as theirs. my Shiba has two beds, his own and mine. sometimes he'll go on the couch. lol they're good dogs, though ^__^

lol do you really want to know why he was talking?! I am on his spot where he likes to sleep at night on my bed!!! and he was telling me to move my leg!! he kept talking for hours until i give up... HAHAHA damn shibas :)

aw. that's cute. does your shiba interact with other dogs? i am trying to get my shiba to not be dog aggressive when dogs come near her and to be tolerable to them rather than striking.

yup shiba's are known to be "Vocally Aggressive"... it's not their bite you have to worry about.. it's their Vocals that scares other dogs, provoking a fight. Mine use to be like that but yes you can train them to be more tolerable. When you walk them, you must carry two things. 1. Their favorite Treat 2. A squirt bottle.

You squirt them if they growl or look like they are going to be aggressive. Reward with treats if they are good and don't bark. Do this everytime, they'll learn fast!

@devilzmantis really? i have a shiba that hates it when other dogs walk past with their owners, it is SO embaressing, ill have to try that even if i get dirty looks from other owners who just don't understand what it is like to own a shiba!

@boucher21 yah... you can try just treats at first. Give him a treat right before the owner passes or make him sit first. Make it a pleasant experience with treats with strangers. The water spray can be a last resort because some Shibas are tough minded. Let me know how it goes!

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your dog might have a hip problem. you can tell by the way he sat down (sat on his side, not on his butt). might want to get an xray done = /. sry. awesome dog though!

he's been sititng on his side since he was 8 weeks old.. he only sits up straight when I say "sit"... but yes, maybe worth an x-ray, thanks.

xray didn't show any hip problems. The doc says he's a bit over-weight though but other than that healthy :)
