    *back away slooooly then runs*

  • Nice job Caitlin. I've been making this in a different way and love it, but I can't wait to try this. I never added the other meats, I bet that adds so much flavor. Thank you.

  • I cannot wait to cook this...You're a goddess Caitlin O_O Thanks for the Recipe!!

  • My God! Caitlin would you please marry me? DOUBLE PLEASE!

  • My God! Caitlin would you please marry me?

  • Time for some Braciole!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great video. Thanks!

  • That looks discusting. when shes cutting it. it looks like cutting a part of a person. ewwww

  • @TICABELLA23 I can think of something worse: people who can't spell "disgusting." Get a dictionary!

  • This looks AMAZING; going to try it for tomorrow! I love the idea of using a jar sauce; makes it go quicker and easier but still a great homemade dish!

  • please google "braciole di maiale cotte alla griglia" (the exact text with quotes): the first result is a braciola!

  • what the h*** are you cooking???

this is not a braciola this is POLPETTONE (and for sure not the best one)!

  • @alxdwn Polpettone is made from ground meat, not from a whole piece of meat. Perhaps you don't know as much as you think you do?

  • sorry

u lost me with the jarred tomato sauce.

what kind of cook are you???

  • This looks great but it's definetly not italian.... It seems more the anglosaxon way of an italian recepy!

  • how do you make beef for giro's?? hi from chihuahua mexico

  • Your recipe looks great!

  • mmmm, ima try this. i usually just prepare it in the traditional way with chopped parsley, minced garlic and onions

  • @ultrakool me too, never seen it this way, but sure looks good. It almost looks like my meatloaf!

  • @montrealstars60 yeah, but i am sure you're a self-respecting, meatloaf preparer who'd never, ever, desecrate it with jar sauce. am i right?

  • @ultrakool No way, meatloaf never with sauce. I make my bracioles with diced parsley and garlic, salt and pepper and sometimes a sprinkle of romano cheese

  • The sweet voice makes it that much more appealing...

  • Watching this is very helpful. Thank you!!

  • Wow, thank you for all your thoughtful feedback! We're delighted you're paying attention. :)

The wonderful thing about food is the traditions that surround it. This is the way Caitlin's family makes and pronounces Braciole. Clearly there are many different versions, and they all sound delicious. In fact, I think I'll add an egg next time. YUM.

  • Do you think that is big enough????????? How is that going to fix in the sauce pot

  • is braciole supposed to be that big? it looks like a huge sausage...

  • I'm a guido born and raised in Jersey. Your family definately makes it different than mine. I think our family makes it more traditional with the thin steak, romano, parsley garlic, salt & pepper.

Hey Caitlin, thats more like a bracoile log ! It looks good. Although I get scolded (I'm 34) by my mom if I deviate by one ingredient, I'm gonna try to make yours anyway. My family is from Naples. I went to naples back in 2006 to soo the old family area and it was fun.

    Ciao

  • Braciole (called involtini in Italy) are of obscure origin but spread throughout Italy where each region has its own variation.

Caitlin's version looks good but she's kind of spartan with the ingredients. I would have added grated parmesan cheese, eggs, capers, raisins, parsley etc. Slicing the beef to 1/4 inch thickness would have made it easier to add more ingredients.

My only real criticism is what she actually made was not braciola, but a braciolona, a really big braciola.

  • Please do! Let us know if you have any requests! Always up for a challenge.

  • YAAAY! I've been wanting to learn how to make this! I'll let you know how it comes out!
