Musicjunkiie, I just have to ask...It looks like you posted many of these videos a couple months before Mike passed. I remember watching MJ videos on here a couple weeks before and had even watched The Jacksons: An American Dream either a day or a couple days before. I listened to MJ a lot because he's my fave artist, but it was so weird. I even remember thinking, "man, I wonder how people will react if he dies. he can't die!" Man. How did you feel fresh off of posting these?
@DanniLuv316 Wow! That's a very interesting question. I think April 14, 2009 was the last day that I posted a video on here prior to what took place in June 2009. I really can't put into words a description of how I felt afterwards. . . I've just always wondered why I chose to use the particular songs that I did. It's very eery to me.
@DanniLuv316 I always go through a bunch of different emotions when I listen to, or watch anything that has to do with Michael. It's more of a somber feeling. BUT, whenever I see him, I always smile. :)
@DanniLuv316 OMG i few days before he passed i thought the same thing! i thought how will everyone react when he dies" OMG so weird....i remeber listening 2 "Earth song" and thinking that....
i am now beginning to realize that alot of singers from the 90's patterened their voices after mike. he is definetly on top of the list of amazing rnb singers
It gets me every time when Mike says: "This time I'm leaving all of my cares behind", his voice sounded so pure on the Triumph album, like he really didn't have too many cares back then.
OMG EVERYONE 4:49 when Michael sings "I love, I love, I love, I love, I love the way you move" gets me emotional every time. He had an incredible voice!
Man, why dont they make music like this anymore?..... Soulja Boy? What the hell is going on? Is The World comingTo An End? Well....It is almost 2012....lol
i'm SO jealous that you got to experience Michael in the 1980s. =p lOl.
being born in 1988 makes the 90s my childhood; a lot of craaaazy things were going on in Michael Jackson's life during that time. not the best way to be introduced to him, but NOTHING changed the way i felt the first time i seen him when i was four. ha. =D
@musicjunkiie58 I agree, me myself being born in the later half of 1988, but music that he did in this era of his career was beautiful, as well as his solo career of course. I was celebrating Michael's birthday by myself a few days ago. His music got me through a lot of times.
@WhyzFuul yuuup. =) we were born into the Bad era, didn't really know what we were seeing in the Dangerous era, && really had the chance to experience him during the HIStory & Invincible eras. i'm not complaining though; because we both could've been born much later and have absolutely no real experience of Michael. that would sooooo suck! xD lOl.
@musicjunkiie58 I feel ya! :) If only I had the chance to see him in concert at least once. Yeah I consider myself a junkie of the old school as well. Not that all of todays music is bad it's just that something in old school music has a deeper meaning in my opinion. There are exceptions though for example I love music by Glenn Lewis, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, etc.
@WhyzFuul yeah. =) well, personally, i don't really care for the MAJORITY of music from the 1990s & 2000s. there are a "selected" few artists from this era of music that i do listen to, but other then that, nooo. lOl. && you're right, i do recognize ALL of the SAMPLING. it's beyond annoying. if i were to make a list of how many songs i've heard sampled, and how many times they've been sampled, it would practically be a never-ending list. lmaO! xD
@WhyzFuul yes...i feel you...i'm younq...but i listen to the younq michael jackson...i mainly listen to Gospel tho but i love michael jackson...sum ppl wonder y i listen 2 old music, i tell dem "b/c old music has meanin. the music of 2day makes no since 2 me" and they leave me alone about dat subject then!! lol but i do aqree, not all of 2day's music is bad...Alicia Keys is really qud but old skool music means sumthn...i quess you kan say i'm a "younq old skool fool"!!! lol...God Bless You!!!
@musicjunkiie58 I remember my friends used to make fun of me for listenin' to old people music like the temptations and other classic motown, but when they finally gave the music a chance and just listened they realized that it was good music that is forever young. Haha but I do admit some of the music I listen to is way before my time but I gotta have my Jacksons and Earth, Wind, & Fire!!! Haha oh well, guess we can say we caught a bit of the 80's! 1988 all the way!!!
@musicjunkiie58 You probably recognize a lot of samples people use today from those times. I liked that "New York State Of Mind" (Jay-Z & Alicia) even though it sampled from (The Moments) "Love On A Two Way Street". Some of todays music is catchy and fun, but its not easy to find that spark sometimes. Shuu!!! :) Music history can be fun!!!
Michael was vocally on point in Triumph. Yours and Give It Up and this are my favourite songs from the Jacksons era. The man was a singing fiend.......
@dbastard1977 I hear you. "Triumph" is one of the best buys I've gotten out of the Jackson catalogue. They really came into their own here, and it seemed like "Heartbreak Hotel" was a extension(or a prelude) to "Thriller," in how epic and theatrical it was. "Time Waits For No One" was one of the songs I discovered from this album, just before he passed. They are a fantastic musical family unit. I loved all of the album titles---"Victory," this, "Destiny"--it worked for them.
Tito deserves some props here, his guitars made this album what it is, he very rarley gets any rec, but he killed the guitars on this joint... Respect due papa T.
LOL, i played a live version of Can you feel it and my friend went wild at how tito played the guitar....same as this song, he strums along jerking and ticking it at the right time. Triumph is the pinnacle of the Jacksons abilities in the studio...its a masterpiece
I listened to all The Jacksons albums non stop, summer of 2008. I listened to The Jacksons, Goin Places, Destiny, Triumph and Victory that whole summer. Timeless music and that's why Mike will never be forgotten.
I am visiting all the songs that Michael mentioned in his book Moonwalk that I never heard before.
Such a great song. As I listen to it I can't help but think about just how many songs Michael had memorized and sung throughout his life. It has to be in the thousands easily :-D.
1:40-1:57 Make me SCREAM THEY ARE SO SEXY AND YOU CAN TELL THEY LOVE EACHOTHER SOM MUCH . i THINK WE ALL FORGET AT TIMES THAT THEY ARE A REAL FAMILY .
i love the way michael looks at :21, were did you get these pictures. if you could send me a link or something to my account i would appreciate that. thanks awesome song!
If this album is from 1980 that means it was released after "Off The Wall". The Jacksons were still together after Michael went solo? And, he was producing solo albums and still recording with the brothers? That is Michael we hear on this right? Am I right on this?
I'm in love with his voice

If this album is from 1980 that means it was released after "Off The Wall". The Jacksons were still together after Michael went solo? And, he was producing solo albums and still recording with the brothers? That is Michael we hear on this right? Am I right on this?

yes, that is Michael singing lead.
this album was released in July of 1980.
Michael recorded and released both Off The Wall & Thriller while still a member of The Jacksons.
he remained with his brothers until 1984; after the Victory Tour, when he "officially" went solo.

This is a very good disco- soul song. This is an underrated song from the Jacksons. Its a dancefloor filler alright!. Top Draw.
Quincy must of handled the production on their truimph album.

Actually the Jacksons produced this themselves.
