  • To fix this, 6 tie wraps, dielectric grease, and contact cleaner, here is, clean or spray contact cleaner on each harness or conector, let it dry, put dielectric grease on each connector ECM, and plug the connectors, and them put the zip ties taking the ECM with the connectors 2 on each connector and you got Jeep for a long time.

  • @AXELL1010 I tried dielectric grease, that wasn't this problem. I couldn't repeat the stalling problem every time by wiggling the wires. On my 3rd ECM the problem completely disappeared. While I have had issues with chrysler's harnesses before and bad connectivity can lead to more resistance before the current even gets to the ignition coil circuit in the ECM helping to contribute to an already faulty system, the stalling problem originates within the ECM not in the harnesses.

  • Ok guys I got the same problem few months ago, and I found the solution, forget it about sensor's, spark plugs, new computer's fuel pump's etc. everything looks like is a little issue with the ECM conncetors, ok here is the solutions to this problem: Take 6 tie wraps or zip ties 24" and put 2 on each connector with the ECM to keep each connector tie, and forget it about to expend more money on a expensive parts, fix this $20.00

  • Replace ECU. These pos are notorious.

  • hey thanks for the info I'll have to give it a try myself.I'll look on ebay for a refurbished 1 or 1 in good working order that has been tested,if not there then a junk yard is my best bet.thanks again

  • in my 97 jeep grand cheroke has the same issue,I'm not 100% sure its the ecu itself,I think its the connectors to the ecu,as soon as I would touch the 2 connectors on the left with alittle pressure it dies,so I put zip ties on them as tight as I could an it seems to be working,it stalls every now and again, but alittle push an its mostly fine, its that or maybe a pin in the ecu is loose or bad.it still isnt runing perfect but close

  • @ITALIANGTRR34 thats what i thought for awhile, not having a perfect connection can defiantly contribute to part of it (as seen in my video) but the main cause is the ignition coil control circuit in the ecu. If you replace it with a unit that doesn't have a faulty circuit (got my good ecu on the 3rd replacement) it will never stall again. I haven't had it stall on this ecu for about 5 months now.

  • why do cars need all of this computer crap anyways?

  • im having a similar issue mine is a 94 it starts and will drive but than stuals I cleaned tha IAC sensor and throttle body with carbo clean same with cam sensor it ran perfect for two days now I have the problem again. It stuals whenever it wants to.I was told it was the Cran sensor or transmission although it feels like a gas pump problem becuase of how it cuts out I been wrking on this for.a week now

  • @cursemob Well mine ended up being the ignition coil circuit in the ECU. the second rebuilt ECU fixed it as I suppose the first one had the same problem as the original (go figure...) Your jeep being a 1994 is an OBDI and mine is an OBDII so they should have very different ECU modules, yours very well may be a crank sensor. I'd doubt fuel as i never found fuel being a problem in a forum. If not the sensor try ecu, harnesses, grounds... its probably electrical somewhere.

  • dodge stuff is fantastic
