This is just more evidence that marijuana should be legalized, because then it can be regulated, taxed, and would require a permit to sell it only in licensed areas to people of a certain age. It would also drive the street value of it way down. You ever wonder why you don't see drug dealers on the street selling 6 packs of beer?

Funny that the cops jump from a college study's statistics on what people can get to their own statistics on what people are busted for. They are completely different things... what idiocy, or perhaps spin but I don't give them that much credit.

I also found this humorous, Law enforcement credit's this to in school programs like "DARE". The DARE program is also a known failure! My nephew when in grade school graduated top in his class from the program. Two years ago he was busted with cocaine.

dare might work if it was honest. Talking to like 8th grade kids about drugs and telling them the flat truth would be effective. Scaring the fuck out of them with propaganda doesn't help anything because after their first joint, it might as well all be lies because weed is so obviously harmless. Its mostly conditioned response, like dog training.. Grotesque image + emphasis on a drug = association of grotesque image with said drug.

I credit that stat to smoker paranoia vs drunken stupidity.
