Just an FYI to all. The original version is not from The Greatful Dead or Nazareth or Jeff Beck Tim Rose. The original version and writer of this song is by a great woman folk singer from Canada. Her Name is Bonnie Dobson. She wrote this song in 1962.

I have always loved this track since the first time I heard it, when I bought the album aged 16. I think I have heard 20+ covers of this track, and this remains my favourite. Although it's obviously influenced by Jeff Beck's version(s) I prefer Dan McCafferty's vocals to Rod's anyway, but I also prefer Manny's moodier guitar and Pete Agnew's bass is wonderful.

Beck's is a tour de force, but Nazareth's is perfect.

Opinions are subjective, I've just listened to 5 or 6 versions of Morning Dew, and the

comments. If you prefer this galloping bass seven minute take, fine. I'll stay with my

favorite, on the 1968 "Truth" LP, by Jeff Beck. The intense piano and guitar brillance

still give me a smile for perfection. Enjoy several, if you like...a great song.
