  • Watched this a while back and this is how i depoted all my mac shadows Seriously the easiest way!1 Thank you!!

  • omg seriously saved me from a huge headache thank you so much

  • what a mission!

  • Thanks so much! Helped me a lot!

  • I absolutly love your eyebrows! They are gorgeous! Good video

  • As clichéd as this sounds, you have beautiful eyes. No, seriously. They are gorgeous :)

  • i did one eyeshadow using this method; super fast and easy. however, the burning plastic fumes were AWFUL. do this in a well ventilated area or find a tutorial on youtube about how to depot without heat.

  • you're super cute

  • when you remuve the sticker from the pot , the pot still good for return to the store?

  • Thanks for the info. It really helps!

  • Best and easiest depotting tutorial I've watched. Thanks!

  • I GET LIPGLOSS! thanks container haha

  • I GET LIPGLOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This was amazing. it took me like 3 minutes and it was done. Very easy and simple. Thank you!

  • What were you looking at...

  • @Lorea1991 She had 2 cameras. One was the camera that came with her computer and the other was a camera she got for tutorials (this one).

  • Hey reli like dis vid just depotted mine 4 d first time u wer reli helpful i plan on subscribing t =o ur channel :).....the only problem i had was that I can't seem to find the magnetic strips things u showed us :( did u get urs in a craft store or a hardware store or wat?......Im from Ireland by the way..thanks in advance...edel

  • very helpful!

  • Thanks! This was so helpful and really easy! At first I tried another depoting method that involved wire cutters and it cracked one of my eyes hadows! So I was like 'Screw this' and I found this method instead and it worked so well! Thanks again!!!

  • OMG THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCHHH I FRICKIN LOVE YOU XXX

  • Well I depotted my plumage today and what I did was quite easier. My straightener was plugged in (I was planning to straighten my hair) so I actually used my thumbnail to pop the little thing out instead of tweezers and I stick it on my straighter for a minute. I check it by poking a safety pin in the middle when it goes all the way through and te pan pops out no more heat. You can sctually stick the pan thingy in so you can back to mac it

  • I just depotted eleven of these shadows in less than fifteen minutes! Really easy and quick to do. Very strong smelling tho.... might be handy to wear one of those little masks that painters/builders wear, if you have one handy..... great way to depot and worked on every one!!!

  • Comment removed

  • can you still use this method even with the changed back to mac rules?

  • wow, quite a big container when you think how shallow the eyeshadow pan is!

  • its great and all but dont use ur lighter to remove it from the tweezers when the pot is hot, that shit will pop in ur hand.

  • Thank you 4 this awesome video. i used a lighter instead of a candle, but it worked just as well! =D

  • Unfortunately we only have a MAC counter, so I can't even get the palette unless I order it and ordering is a pain! So much extra charges! However great video!

  • thank you!! i just did it...and it was so quick!!! thank you

  • This is a clever way of doing it. However, it just makes me feel like I'm working at a meth lab.

  • Good tutorial. I think I'll stick to buying pan-refills tho...cuz even though you get a free lipstick/gloss/eyeshadow, you'd still come out ahead moneywise buying the refills.

  • I tried. the smell is bad. but you describe how too do it VERY well, but i depot my eyeshadows from the back of the lid. not the front. and it works ! its much easier. :)

    -aotbfly123

  • Why dont you just buy the already depotted eyeshadows, they're only 11 bucks

    while norm. shadows are 14.50.

  • If they're in a collection instead of the permanent line you can't get just the pans and that's when this would be kind of handy ^^

  • Sometimes when you do trades, or get gifts, etc., you don't have a choice. Also, the pots are good for Back2MAC, so it's not a huge deal. :)

  • OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH, i depoted for the first time after this and it was easy

  • i tried using this method, and i love it! it actualy works. thanks so much for putting this up on your channel!(:

  • After watching this I depoted for the first time! Thanks! Super easy!

  • @tawnyinthepink enkoremakeup does a vid that doesnt involve fire

  • Helpful!!

  • do you need the sticker on the eyeshadow case to return it to back 2 mac? I know you need the mettel pan, but you can buy those at costal scents. please let me know if you or anyone has had trouble with no stickers on the bottom of the cast for back 2 mac. thanks :) Lex

  • @lexusfann i didn't have any problem, i returned the box with no sticker and no pan.

  • What is her latest vid?

  • OMG!..lol..I just looked on the mac site not knowing the x4 pallettes were only $3.50~!...what a dork I am!

  • I received a 4 slot Mac pallette on ebay, the ebay seller had a Buy it now OBO $5.49 was her price I offered $4.00 and got it!..$6.99 total including s&h..BRAND NEW IN MAC BOX! SOOO GOOD, cherrykate26 is the ebay seller ID

  • you can also peel the sticker off without heat. :-)

  • Very useful....thanks!

  • Very helpful!

  • this is really easy and helpfull thanx and can i ask if its not a stupid question willm the mac counters accept the tub with the hole in it please answer im doing a back to mac next week i neeeeeddd to know

  • i just depotted 2 in less than 2 minutes lol

now one question...are you sure they will accept the empty containers with a hole in it?

  • where can you get the mac pallets to put the shadows in???? hopefully not too expensive

  • a palette of 15 shadows I believe it's about $12.

  • they now sell them on the mac website for $12, and the blush palettes as well:)

  • Wow this way is so much easier than using a hair straightener and wax paper...thank you!!

  • i always wondered....are the mac shadows mad to be depoted?

  • Because sometime people change their minds?

  • because you have to go to a mac store to get the pans and usually the counters are a lot more convienient.

  • having them in a pallete is more organized then having to be looking tru all the lil containers capish

  • thanks It worded Out great

  • after you took out the black thing surrounding the metal part can you put it back on the eye shadow jar it came in?

  • if you do it with this method, the black part that you melt doesn't fit back onto the jar, they won't accept it for the back-to-MAC program.

  • lol I did this with the video, hilarious. Never done it before, thanks!

  • thanks for this... I'm looking into starting a mac pallet with colors of my own.

  • This is much safer ... thanks !

  • thanks! cant wait til i can buy a pan to do this!

  • thanks for making this video! it helped me alot!

  • OMG I just try to depot my eyeshadow and it acually worked!!! Thanks sooo much for this video. It was very informative and easy.

  • this way is waay quicker and easier than using a flat iron thankss<3

  • i like using the tweezer idea to take out the shadow, i was too scared to use a big knife! lol thanks!

  • Thanks for the video! I depottet my first MAC e/s today and this video was a great help.

  • Your way is THE best!!!

    Thank you for sharing ;)

  • "that part is hot dont touch it"hahah lmao thats funny

  • Oooh. you made a lot more sense..

haha some other chick made a video and it did not make sense...

  • this is the best way for me.

i almost did cut myself using a knife also

  • isnt it easier just to buy a refill?

  • you can put it in a pallet this way and if you bring six empty containers back to mac you get a free lipstick lipgloss or eyeshadow.

  • Why do all this work when you can use a straightener,,

watch faffinetex3's video so you can see what i mean ((:

  • why do you keep looking ahead of you????

  • most ppl have it so they can watch as they tape to make sure that the viewer is able to see what they want/need to see.

  • She's looking at the camera to make sure that the viewers can see what she's seeing.

  • i no a better way... watch fafinettex3's video it works!

  • omg that is so kool but were do you buy the mac palettes?

  • MAC freestanding stores

  • im scared of it

  • christ !!! i watched it all

  • how did i get here and why the hell am i watching this ?

  • lol

  • ha ha

  • this was very helpful i will try this =]

  • OK, now I know that I'm a guy and probably not supposed to get this.. But... Why do this?

  • Instead of having a jillion sing eyeshadows its more convenient to have a palette with them all.

  • why do this?

to put the eyeshadow pan in the mac palette.

  • I just depotted 8 of my eye shadows!! Thank you very much!! I ddn`t break even one of them :D.

  • Wow you make it seem very easy!!! nice! i'm going to buy the pallets this weekend it will be my first time buying this. thanks again..

  • i'm very surprised you didn't break the eyeshadow after you burned the bottom and tapped it out with the tweezers! i wouldn't recommend doing that, there's a big chance it could break. but obviously it worked for you so i say that was a very helpful video!

  • ti si jako lepa

  • what's the colors you have in your mac pallet?

  • Awesome video!! I always wanted to know how to depot my mac eye shadows the correct way since I already destroyed like 5 of them. Very helpful video so THANK YOU! :)

  • do they actually sell the mac empty palettes in the states? we dont have them here in asia :(

  • yes they do :) you should get them on Ebay!

  • you could also get them on the mac website

  • thanks for the great tutorial!

it works great and its so fast for unpatient people like me.

i love the way you did your makeup for your eyes in this video

  • Thanks bunches for this Kat, I modified your candle flame and used a portable lighter that is used to light candles and WOW super fast. I wasn't about the hair iron straightener thingie. Anyway, thanks so much for the tip :)

  • great vid...maybe i'm a tard, but where do u get the empty palettes? i dont think i saw them on MAC's website :/

  • you can get them at MAC stores and counters i think

    or you can check ebay!

  • it's onyl available on macpro but you cant order it online :[

however you can call them! or go to a macpro store. :D

  • wow that was pretty awesome! I have so many mac eyeshadows in those containers and sometimes it clutters my make up kit! great tip! I am going to buy one of those Mac pallet holders! wonderful job!

  • I've always wondered how to do that, does it take a long time though? or is it quick

  • it took me a while the first time. i was a total klutz. :P but now it takes me under 5 minutes. you just gotta get the hang of it and it will be super easy. =]

  • Awesome! I was wondering how to do that.

  • be careful Kat, i think inhaling burning plastic is cancerous...love your videos

  • one of my close friends also told me that recently. but i'm so lazy to depot without heat...it takes forever and i'm so impatient. :P thanks for letting me know though.

  • i know, i recently gave up depotting, i'm too lazy.. lol. i just have to get my butt to the pro store and get the depotted ones there!

  • @eyelovemac you can use a flat iron with a towel over the bottom part then put your eyeshadow on the towel and it will heat the eyeshadow so it will pop out without it being cancerous!! :) hope this helps!!

  • you have beautiful hands and nails :)

  • Thanks!

  • i heard you can also put it on a striaghtener. do you think it works better?

  • Hm, I've never tried that. Too scared haha. :P

  • well..in live in san diego. hahaha

  • that really sucks!! where do you return yours?? i should go to the one you go to!!

  • haha, are you from the bay area? i go to a mall in santa clara.

  • Valley Fair Mall? Near Santana Row... hehe, I go to the same mall.

  • i went to the mac store and they wouldnt except my mac cases!!!! i was so mad!!!! they said they needed everything back the way it was!! so how do they expect me to return everything the way it was when i DEPOTTED IT!! obviously i need the metal part to freaken hold my e/s!!! did this ever happen to you??

  • what?? that is so weird! that has never happened to me before, although i also heard from someone else the same thing happened to them. i think it varies between Mac stores; some of them might be stricter on the back to mac rules. :|

  • you have very very beautiful nails!!!

  • where can you get the palette for this?

  • at any mac store (not the counters). it's about 12 dollars.

  • do you have a video on the makeup u are wearing in this video. i love it

  • i can do a video on it. it's one of my everyday looks. :]

  • hey kat...I just depotted all of my eyeshadow today using your method..it's a lot faster and easier it just took me about 1/2 hour to depot all of them and it fill up about almost two palette.....yay..i also did my udpp like how you had your but i put mine in the mac prep and prime container for the eye...and it look great and I couldn't believe how much is in there....anyway thanks ..........for all the info...great work...

  • your welcome! wow 30 minutes for 2 palettes? that's like speed record! :)

  • this is the most brilliant method i've seen! especially getting the label off, i've never seen anyone do that. i hate depotting my mac eyeshadows but seeing your way of doing it.. made me get right to it! lol i depotted one while i was watching this video =]

  • isn't it? i'm glad it worked out for you! it takes like 2 minutes! :)

  • This is the easiest method that I have seen!

    Thanks so much! <333

  • when you get the sticker off of the container there was a hole and i was just wondering if that happend during the process of or was it already there? and do they still take it if the hole was made by us?

  • yeah, there is a hole there. and they don't seem to mind, since the mac employees know that many people depot their shadows this way. :)

  • okay thanks =)

  • just wondering where could i get mac palettes would it be at a MAC counter or would i have to go to the actual MAC store?

  • You can purchase the Mac palettes at any freestanding or pro Mac store. Unfortunately, Mac counters do not sell them, and neither does the Mac website!

  • and another thing. i also spoke to someone at a counter here, and they will take an empty shadow container w/out the tin pan in it. just as long as it is a MAC container. i guess it does just depend on who and what counter accepts them w/out the tin. even if its policy, i dont know that all MAC employees know that the tin really matters?.

  • hey kat ! love this tutorial by the way. before i saw it, i tried depotting an eyeshadow with just tweezers alone and i wrecked the shadow! and we use the same skin care regimen! u rock!

    -jan

  • oh no! yeah, my first time depotting i totally chipped my eyeshadow. :| sucks, doesn't it? how coincidental that we have the same exact skin care routine!

  • does the palette come with magnets? like the four one xD, if not. wear can i get the cheapets magnets? xD

  • no, i wish they came with magnets! you have to buy your own magnets. you can get them at craft stores.

  • i actually ripped them off one of those note pads that you stick on your fridge haha. i think round magnets are better though! michaels should have them. let me know if you find them!

  • Back to MAC Rules have changed. You need to have the tin pans have changed. I made a video on this. Check it out. :) You are good on camera :)

  • what really?? i went last week and they had no problem taking my containers. maybe it's the girl that helped you? or that different stores have different rules. that's so weird.

  • If you read comments that YouTubers left on my video, most of the comments say they had the same rejection.

  • i actually just spoke to my friend, who works at the mac store and she said "The back to mac policy as far as i know, has not changed so you can def. bring anything thats made out of plastic metal or glass there!" so it's still good over here! i guess it depends on certain places.

  • Ok, I don't think we are on the same page! LOL The CHANGE in the Back to MAC policy is that the compacts (eyeshadow, blush, foundation, etc.) must still have the TIN PANS in them. The program never went away.

  • yeah, she said the rules haven't changed. i bring my containers to them all the time with no tin pans. my friend also went to mac last week and they took her empty containers with no problem.

  • where did you get your magnets?

i went to michael's and couldn't find the ones you have.

  • I collect free business card magnets for when I depot makeup. You can get this magnet business cards also from phonebooks. See my depot video. :)
