The average amateur normally tries to hit the ball on the way up, losing their balance and compression and gain a bent left wrist at impact.
Release point for a driver is before the ball which gives the impression of hitting the ball on the upswing but high speed video shows the ball being struck at the bottom of the downswing.
All golfers should be taught tempo, balance and compression. How they move is dependant on their physical capacity.

OK guys (and gals), this teacher on this video DOES know what he is talking about and what he says is true But, as a golf teacher myself, I must say that the KEY to distance is based on: #1) Tempo. Then at #2) Relaxation (within your whole body including your thoughts or mind) I have watched Long Drive Champions swing the club and I have participated in some competitions myself.
If you watch Jamie Sadlowski's swing closely, you will see that his shoulder AND hip tempo is INCREDIBLY QUICK.

If he kept his left arm straight at all he might be able to hit a ball well. I'd rather hit the ball 250 and in the fairway than 300+ and have a massive hook/slice.... No way this guy is accurate with that swing.
well, it works for me. I'm not a professional but this worked with the other guy's tip called center of gravity on youtube. I've combined two and now i hit 250 yards straight with few misses sometimes. It might not impress most people but for a small and skinny guy like me (138 lb), i guess it's quite good. my one more suggestion is putting the ball at the center of your left foot not the heel. try it! it won't cost at all.

Ask any pro which approach club they'd prefer; a 7 iron or a wedge. ALL would of course say wedge. Why are you even argumenting over this? It's silly...
I don't swing as hard as I can. All I wanted to comment on is that it's silly to say that anyone would want a 7 iron for an approach shot before a wedge. And you probably either misunderstood your local pros or they don't have a clue what they're talking about. Of course the farther away the flag is from the shot position, the more accurate you have to be, which makes it harder, it's logical...
This was not 300+ yards. Im 15 and yes it has to do with your rotation but this guy did not generate hardly any swing speed. I hit it 290-300 ALL the time. Its about rotation, posistion, timeing, and more timeing.
David Leadbetter gives similar advice about leaning back on right side to hit driver further. I've been playing for a year, started off this way with driver, hit straight worm burners until i figured out the wrist cock and hip rotation. Terrible with irons until i tried stack n tilt. Decided to try SnT with driver to get to hitting all clubs the same way but couldnt do it. Went back to this way for driver and hit it straight and far now. Thanks, hope you get more tips out sometime :)
Holy shit bro, your a lifesaver. I used to hit the ball 270 yards, I changed my grip because i used my palms too much, some how i changed my swing too, well Ive been slicing a lot lately, and you saying to stay back on the right and just uncoil instead of rotating forward has got me back to my old self, but now with my ne grip I am much more consistent. Forreal I lost like 40 yards because of what I did, and plus I sliced and lost a lot of balls in the woods, I am back now, thanks!
Ok my dad was pro at one time he has a nock off diver and the best drive he has ever yet was 356 yards I have been around golf my wole life and my best drive 286 yards and I am 13 years old my dad is 50 if you thing I am makeing it ok I know that it happend and that is what counts
I didn't think it was a good tip - went to the range and DAMN, it works. But I will say that it only added may 15yards but it totally straightened my drive out. Crap - I would be happy hitting short 15 yards if I could hit the fairway every time :)
im a big dude, i hit 325 yards with my 9.5 and 350 with my 8.5. and i have spent hella time trying to get more and more distance, and ill tell you this.. when i swang up on the club i lost distance, even with a Extra stiff shaft. when i swing down on the ball, i get roll and if i can hit a slight draw thats when i roll over 350. So pretty mcuh everything this guy said is what i try not to do...

i use either taylormade pentas or bridgestone e6's for golf balls depending on the hole, and i just hit almost 350 yard drive a few days ago, but it's a little downhill but no wind. im 18 but really built up to 200 pounds compared to 155 over the winter. but please for the goodness sake dont give me garbage because i know it sounds messed up. but believe me because ive been practicing since i was 4
@captainhansen100 After playing golf for over forty years ( I have a seven handicap ) I have come to the conclusion that there is very little difference in golf balls especially when it comes to distance.
To me ( and many others ) it's all about feel and from a personal point I play the Pro-V1, a fellow member at my club who has a six handicap has played the Noodle golf ball for years and states " it's as long a ball as is out there, I can make it do everything the high price balls do ".
@MrKAPfilms I don't think that was very kind as this man is sincere about trying to help people with their golf game thus he donates his time.
I agree we are all entiltled to our opinions but it certainly is different stokes for different folks, I will never hit a ball 300 yards or close to it. I'm a senior and I play a respectacle game off an eight handicap, but this man has helped me a great deal.
He teaches passive arms and hands and that in itself helped my game,,and I'm grateful indeed.

I agree that different strokes for different folks as I average between 250y and 300y at the driving range (without including bounces and rolls) and I swing very differently then what he is saying. You just have to go out there and try stuff
@MrKAPfilms Well I don't know what type of a game you have but I will say this in all my years I have met very few golfers that can hit range balls as far as you claim you can.
The longest hitter at my club can fly range balls in the area of 240-260 yards, I've golfed with him a number of times when he has hit his Pro-V1X 300-320 yards.
And to be perfectly honest I have never seen anyone who can hit a range ball 300 yards especially on the fly as you are claiming.
@MrKAPfilms To add to my last reply, I'm sure any golfer out there would agree with me that even pro's. such as Bubba Watson, Dusting Johnston, Gary Woodland, John Daly and the rest of the real big hitters out there would have a struggle hitting RANGE BALLS 300 yards on the fly.
I watched Woodland hit a couple of dozen balls at the practice area with his driver, on the fly they were landing around the 280 yards area ( using Titelist balls ) you claim you out drive him using range balls ?? wow !

@hmongmiskas lol man idk. im 6 foot 2 and just startin and i can hit pretty far and ive only golfed twice. i will be able to hit further than you because my arms are considerably longer then yours which gives me more power to hit the ball. if you dont know what i mean, think of hitting the ball with your driver while having ur elbows at your hips. it is obviously going to be more efficent to swing full because the longer arms u have the more swing and the more power and distance u will maintain
lateral movement with irons, (aka sliding) prompts the shaft towards the club... which also promotes a huge cut and makes you roll your wrists to ensure you hit it straight. (depending on if you shanked it first) :L lol wat a load of bollocks... go watch ernie els and see how he turns his hips before moving his arms withh all his clubs -.-

Best tip for golf. Don't listen to anyones tips. Just hit the fucking ball. If you have coordination you will find your swing naturally. If you are uncoordinated give up golf.

I didn't think it was a good tip - went to the range and DAMN, it works. But I will say that it only added may 15yards but it totally straightened my drive out. Crap - I would be happy hitting short 15 yards if I could hit the fairway every time :)

im a big dude, i hit 325 yards with my 9.5 and 350 with my 8.5. and i have spent hella time trying to get more and more distance, and ill tell you this.. when i swang up on the club i lost distance, even with a Extra stiff shaft. when i swing down on the ball, i get roll and if i can hit a slight draw thats when i roll over 350. So pretty mcuh everything this guy said is what i try not to do...

My average drive before this tip was 230 max 260 now I'm actually hit the 300+ sign at the range, sometimes on the fly. Great tip

i use either taylormade pentas or bridgestone e6's for golf balls depending on the hole, and i just hit almost 350 yard drive a few days ago, but it's a little downhill but no wind. im 18 but really built up to 200 pounds compared to 155 over the winter. but please for the goodness sake dont give me garbage because i know it sounds messed up. but believe me because ive been practicing since i was 4

@captainhansen100 After playing golf for over forty years ( I have a seven handicap ) I have come to the conclusion that there is very little difference in golf balls especially when it comes to distance.
To me ( and many others ) it's all about feel and from a personal point I play the Pro-V1, a fellow member at my club who has a six handicap has played the Noodle golf ball for years and states " it's as long a ball as is out there, I can make it do everything the high price balls do ".

@MrKAPfilms I don't think that was very kind as this man is sincere about trying to help people with their golf game thus he donates his time.
I agree we are all entiltled to our opinions but it certainly is different stokes for different folks, I will never hit a ball 300 yards or close to it. I'm a senior and I play a respectacle game off an eight handicap, but this man has helped me a great deal.
He teaches passive arms and hands and that in itself helped my game,,and I'm grateful indeed.

@jeanmunn well you took that the wrong way. I meant because he talks fast. What he said is great and I'm glad there are people like him that are trying to help the public. My comment had nothing to do with what he was saying, but more how he was saying it.
I agree that different strokes for different folks as I average between 250y and 300y at the driving range (without including bounces and rolls) and I swing very differently then what he is saying. You just have to go out there and try stuff

@MrKAPfilms Well I don't know what type of a game you have but I will say this in all my years I have met very few golfers that can hit range balls as far as you claim you can.
The longest hitter at my club can fly range balls in the area of 240-260 yards, I've golfed with him a number of times when he has hit his Pro-V1X 300-320 yards.
And to be perfectly honest I have never seen anyone who can hit a range ball 300 yards especially on the fly as you are claiming.

@MrKAPfilms To add to my last reply, I'm sure any golfer out there would agree with me that even pro's. such as Bubba Watson, Dusting Johnston, Gary Woodland, John Daly and the rest of the real big hitters out there would have a struggle hitting RANGE BALLS 300 yards on the fly.
I watched Woodland hit a couple of dozen balls at the practice area with his driver, on the fly they were landing around the 280 yards area ( using Titelist balls ) you claim you out drive him using range balls ?? wow !

@hmongmiskas lol man idk. im 6 foot 2 and just startin and i can hit pretty far and ive only golfed twice. i will be able to hit further than you because my arms are considerably longer then yours which gives me more power to hit the ball. if you dont know what i mean, think of hitting the ball with your driver while having ur elbows at your hips. it is obviously going to be more efficent to swing full because the longer arms u have the more swing and the more power and distance u will maintain

lateral movement with irons, (aka sliding) prompts the shaft towards the club... which also promotes a huge cut and makes you roll your wrists to ensure you hit it straight. I agreed with some fellows opinions, just hit the fucking ball, and find your way. golfing is money grab game, expensive golf clubs don't help you with your skills, even Tiger Woods has his instructor, that's bullshit, they just want keep this ball rolling. so, don't persue fancy stuffs, go out there have some funs. sports like jogging keep you healthy that's what you need.

Best tip for golf. Don't listen to anyones tips. Just hit the fucking ball. If you have coordination you will find your swing naturally. If you are uncoordinated give up golf.
