  • Yeah this is just creepy

  • hahahahaha no jelly roles

  • Shit

  • "BRAVO !!!

...what did i say, NO JELLY ROLLS !"

    roflmao !

  • Their politeness is what makes this movie so ironic since in the modern world we think of psychopaths being a little more different than these two , if you see this movie is actually meant to show us the power of american media over violence around the world .. The purpose is to show us who controls who . It's a pretty good movie if u ask me .

  • What did this movie try to tell us? Violence sucks?

  • @TooMuchGass : Actually, it tells us that we don't know where violence can come from at any given time--not always from run-down ghetto-type people. And the worst ones actually ARE more polite and "sophisticated", because to them it IS a game. I bait them and give them "the look" to let them know right up front that I'm not a piece on their chess-board.

  • I found this movie highly original. Usually when someone askes a woman to get undressed it's an invitation for a rape scene but no, they just wanted to see if she had jelly rolls or not...their politeness during this whole thing is uncanny.

  • You shouldn't forget the importance of entertainment...

  • hardest movie to watch for me ever.. very sad

  • @TheJustRussian : I thought "Hard Candy" was the meanest movie I had seen--the director of this film HAD to have experienced a situation like this, as did Anthony Burgess(author of "A Clockwork Orange). I'm the one who's always reminding my emotionally-charged friends that "It's a MOVIE,"....I wanted to see these two punks wasted(great teaser relief half-way through the film). The acting was....where did they FIND these people?--absolutely terrific.

  • @buzzclick500 I've seen Hard Candy(thanx fo hint), it's nice movie but not scary at all, maybe some times, but nothing compare to funny games, because he wasn't innocent like funny games family, so he got it coming

  • Sexy crying slut.

  • @MrTheRebeltube go back to fuck goats stupid redneck

  • @MrTheRebeltube Ever hear of the words compassion and empathy, evidently not or all your concerned with is your penis.

  • This movie was really stupid. REALLY stupid. Don't watch it because it will haunt you forever as one of the shittiest movies rated next to "The Cavern"

  • What MM song is that?

  • How can the movie and the people in it be so dumb.

Dumb parents breed dumb children. This is how you do a reverse mind fuck:

Tip all the mother have to do is slap the other guy and tell her friend that the guy try to sexually harass her as the boat approaches.

    -End of the story.

    Shall we call it:

Mind FUCK Condom? Mind Fuck Chastity Belt? or Reverse Mind FUCK? Mind Fuck Rapex?

  • @comedianFA : It's a film that cautions us against allowing ourselves to become over-civilized. There are people out there with agendas, time, money and a contempt for other human beings that cannot be estimated by a civilized mind. This film is gruesomely reflective of reality. For some reason, it makes me think of the Menendez brothers.

  • I loved this movie. I don't really get the negative feeback, unless it's because of the whole cruelty factor.

  • this is so poorly acted compared to the original

  • As quoted:

Paul: You can see it in the movie right?

    Peter: Of course.

Paul: Well then she's as real as reality because you can see it too. Right?

    Peter: Bullshit.

    Paul: Why?

  • What most people do not understand is that the remote scene is an exploration of possibilities within the film; they explain this scene towards the end and reference it as "breaking the fourth wall". In a way, its brilliant because they knew they were in a movie and thus they also knew how to break the rules only when the other characters broke them as well.

  • \m/

  • Brady Corbet= HOT!!

  • the original movie is much better, even if you have to watch it with subtitles

  • From Argentina... the actors are GREAT but the film is a REALLY YET!!!! I´ve never seen a movie like that, where showing many bad things that happen in real life.

They were taking another family hostage before getting to this last family. Michael Haneke lives in other planet, he dont know nothing about the people real suffering in a moment like that. Is like a joke to people who have experienced something bad like that.

    Regards!

  • Great film.

  • PRESENT FOR BOXING DAY

    search it...

  • wtf

  • lol what did i say? no jellyrolls lol

  • nice name

  • movie was awesome, there wasnt really any graphic violence yet every scene made me cringe more than saw, plus it really is funny how he breaks the fourth wall and i was still into the movie, then he does it gain, and i was still into it, then he completly messes with the plot, and i was still waiting to see what happens.

  • The meaning's no secret to us, but it sounds like you don't know it.

  • My favorite actors in a really stupid frustating movie...Hanake watched too many Pasolini/Fassbinder movie but he couldn't reach they level.

  • Death is Entertaining :)

  • I fucking loved this movie... Funny Games is so twisted and just pure balls out, no nonsense, fuck your head brilliance... None of this Cliche Hollywood happy endings... Pure brilliance all the way!

  • you have to see the original german version, much more intense

  • exactly. it's really way better

  • @woahXjessica

    isnt the origonal french?

  • nope. it's german. :)

    just like me. lol

  • @woahXjessica oh my god i know!

one of the best films i have ever seen! Excellent director!

  • Useless movie.

  • You're in for a rude suprise when you arrive at prison...

  • If cut slightly tighter (no pun intended) this could have made an AWESOME trailer.

  • You're fucked up in the head

  • The real story is that: "Tim Roth" is not even her real husband. Just her new boyfriend, and the kid comes from her first "unknown" marriage. And the one in front of her is the boyfriend she abandonned for a better living and better life. Which is a stupid move from her behalf and that's why they haunted her family, especially her.

Otherwise, the story would make no sense if these two didn't know each other way before that.

But killing her, the child and the man is a stupid move too.

  • (2) "Naomi Watts" in the movie still have a child character that can't grow up after all these years because she never put herself naked to make love. So we supposed she didn't make love to have her first child. Sperm donation maybe. Or it could be "Tim Roth" child as far as I can understand from this movie.

  • (3) She (and her boyfriend "Roth" ) act like puppets but they are not at all. Because they knew they had no choice due to the injustice she has done to the white-dressed guy (the good-one, the main one I mean).

Sorry. I don't know the name of the characters cause I don't pay attention to that. I hope someone is reading those.

  • (4) So in conclusion, the home invasion, putting half naked a woman, tying her up and gag her, even making love to her, you have the right to do that.

But to kill an entire familiy for his own justice (or their pleasure in that case), you don't have the right to do this.

  • Why -2 on all? lol That is useful. Thanks for your opinion.

  • yes i am.

  • stuck in the middle with u.

  • mr.orange can never catch a fucking break lol, but seriously this movie is over the top disturbing i mean i was laughing from beggining to end of resivour dogs but i dont find it funny when an innocent family is tortured and killed even if i have a twisted humer.

  • @ojdidit92 Yeah, and that's what makes it an interesting movie. It's not funny, but the two tortureres (Peter and Paul) are strangely an outlet of comic relief.

  • @ojdidit92 Id've liked it had it not been for the rewind scene, which made the whole movie completely retarded.W/o that&with a better ending it could've/would've/shoulda been a great movie, breaking all horror movie cliches&rules, standing alone as a unique horror film.I have no idea what the hell the director was thinking w/ that scene, but shot his enitre movie to shit&erased all credibility of what had the chance of being a great film.....great performance by the young actor playin little Georgie

  • What a fantastic, splendid movie to watch,i so want to see the original now!!!!

Ahh Michael Pitt has come along way from Dawson's Creek, nice acting!!!!

  • Glad to see Mr orange :)!!!!!!

  • I don't wanna be Mr. Brown, Mr Brown sounds too much like Mr Shit, why can't I be Mr. White?

  • Why am i Mr. Pink?... Because your a faggot! :-D

  • haha one of my favorite lines on there, lol

  • Good taste :-) Which is your fave scene though if i may ask? :-)

  • probably when Mr. Blonde cut that guys ear off...haha, I'm sadistic, lol

  • Not at all, thats my fave scene aswell :-D

  • haha nice

  • Huh? I dont know if someone a few pages started a convo on Reserviour Dogs..But...I.......Dont understand how this movie has anything to do with Reserviour Dogs..

  • yeah, cuz Tim Roth is in here, so we started talking about the Reservoir Dogs characters. :-)

  • Omfg now you mention it......

Hes the Dad in this film? And the Cop In RD? Omfg.....I thought....I know him from somewhere!....though it was nicholas cage lol

  • haha, yeah, he's not a extremely famous actor, so yeah It would be harder to remember all the movies he's been in, but yeah he was Reservoir Dogs, and the Hulk :-)

  • No jelly roll's :P

  • This is clearly a sick fucking movie. Anyway who transcribes artistic meaning from this horrible shit, sick movie is clearly in need of a fucking lead pipe beat down. OK, the vacationing husband and wife. I can deal witht hat plot but the FUCKING KID MAN !!.. What the fuck else will we put in movies? Sick fucking european movies should stay away inside there shitty perverted countries. Really...WTF?Making a little boy hear his mom strip then shooting him f/o his mother ?? Jesus people !!

  • Thats why its called a horrer/thriller movie. It's suppose to get you like that.

  • its about time a director changed his/her way of plotting a story, most are too predictable these days...watch ''dead mans shoes'' if u haven't, it'll make u quiver in ur high tops! love love xx

  • I wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't Naomi Watts. She's too sweet to go out like that.

  • when I was watching it I thought it was really good because it was really realistic but then theres the weird remote scene??? I don't get that bit. Plus This version is almost exactly like the 1997 german version.

  • There's been lots of negative feedback on this movie. I understood what the director was trying to do, and I can't complain on the way he developed his points in this film. It's no Oscar gem, but with a good group of friends you can find satisfaction in both the terror and the humor. I enjoyed it

  • and by understanding what the director was 'trying' to do, do you now feel educated?

    Idiot.

  • @ohnoitsaaron It's a poorly done remake of a 1997 German film. Watch the original it's much better.

  • @Yeowoh What's better about it? It's the same movie in a different language with actors that aren't as good.

  • @ohnoitsaaron And you are a very sick being - just as sick as the portrayed psychotic in the clip to take joy in the suffering of others. It is because of vile scum like you and the demonic brainwashing twisted individuals in the media business that this nation is going to hell.

  • I think the kid was the worst actor in the movie.

    just saying.

  • he`s a kid dude

  • tbh i think he did the part well. he was a younge kid and to take on a heavy film like this , well give him credit x

  • maybe the weakest side of haneke's style is that he building his stories on expectation. you keep wondering what will happpen in the end through the film and in the end you get satisfied. his efforts to shock the audience are no more artistic than any gore film that you see people crack open skulls and rips body parts off. his movies are masterpieces at first watch but second time they are always boring. yet i can't call him a bad director because he is fighting for the right side

  • Gosh DAD thanks for the advice, I will always check the ratings and never watch another "terror" movie again. You arrogant prick. If you dont like my opinions about the movie, then dont read them. I would explain my point regarding the movie however I do not believe you have mental or social capability to understand them. Glad you where entertained by the movi, speaks volumes about you. The fact that you are not ashamed says even more. Ass !!

  • Not all shows can have a happy ending. That is not exactly what I was getting at with my posts. I was expecting to be entertained. This show had nothing. Poor acting. no plot. No back story nothing but murder. Many have argued with me over this but thank you for your comments.

  • i can understand why you would say the points you said because you arent familiar with what this movie was trying to achieve...BUT POOR ACTING??? seriously?? even the kid was acting great...BTW you r right that you cant be entertained by the movie and who ever said that is sick! But that doesent mean it wasnt good because it was brilliant...like the crew said "its an inteleqtual exercise rather than a piece of entertainment"...

  • No back story? when u ask that question it shows that you arent familiar with the intentions...The reason we know nothing about the killers is yet again intentional, since the director explains the tendency of films to explain violence and justify it in a way.I dont know if Pitt is like that in his other movies but the part fitted.Maybe he is not a versitile actor but he was good on the movie...Anyway i respect that the movie's strong points can also be its weak ones and it depends on the person

  • Ok I get it, you disagree with me that is ok. I understand you disagree, really. I didn't like the movie. I still feel exactly the same way, I did.I did not like it. I understand the what and how and even why the director did what he did. I just do not agree with it. Also, I still think M.Pitt is a poor actor. In this film and in every other film he is in. It's my opinion. Opinions, that is exactly why we post here.

  • After they kill the kid, and the two psycos leave...that scene is sooooo god damn long. They're just sitting there for about 30mins

  • Duh! their kid just died ...did you expect the parents to be over it in 3 minutes?? The scene btw was less than 10 minutes and it had to be there cause it fitted...

  • For all motherfuckers who critize this great movie,I inform you that this is an american remake of an austrian film,so if you think this is "bad influence" for the young people, don't blame it on hollywood this time, this movie is great, and if you don't like it,go watch fucking harry potter movies

  • Is sad they don't show her tits and ass in this great movie, she is hot

  • wow u totally got the message of the film!

  • The whole movie sucked. Killing kids with shotguns, beating dogs to death with a golf club ? If you find entertainment in this you need help. Seriously !! This movie did not have one, not one redeeming quality. This movie is so bad everyone involved needs to give all of the money that was made from it to people whom have suffered from real life tragedies at the hand of losers like portrayed by Pitt and Corbert, you guys should be ashamed to have made money from this pile of dung.

  • Good Point there but yes. There are some sick people out there.

  • it's not supposed to be a little horror movie. it's a terror movie- a psychological movie that leads you to draw your own conclusions about it. like the guy in the movie said to us, we're all on the family's side.

you're probably only so sensitive to it because you've experienced some tragedy or someone close to has. and if you did, then you should know better than to even watch this. this movie wasn't comic at all. but it was entertaining, i'm not ashamed to say.

  • this type of flick just has to be based of a clockwork orange.

    1.wearing white.

    2.terrorizing people.

  • then titanc was based on "gone with the wind".

    1. a love story

    2. they dont end up together

(what im trying to say is that 2 points say nothing)

  • maybe those were just 2 things i was using as an example. is that your only point?

  • both movies were maybe in the same category but definetly didnt have the same impact or plot or characters or directing or theme...i think these are the main things that a movie has (maybe ive forgotten some)...but if these are diferent then the movies are different!

  • i haven't gotten to see this movie yet. i really want to though!

  • bah..............

  • boring, neither funny nor disturbing. yawn

  • true.. but very hot

  • That'd be an ace trailer

  • WHAT'D I TELL YOU?

    NO JELLY ROLLS.

  • wierd...

  • fantastic cast for an horrible movie.

  • naomi watts = fantastic!

  • the remote scene was to throw your hopes on the ground and monkey stomp them into the floor. It was a basic "fuck you" to the audience. To make you beleive that something was going to go rght for a change in the movie. But they made it very clear that it would not be the case.

  • I think the point of the remote scene was to sort of punish us for cheering for violence, ya know? All other violent scenes were off where we couldn't see. Everything is implied.

  • NO JELLY ROLLS!

  • When i first saw the original version, the scene where George sees the golf ball after they thought Paul and Peter had gone sent shivers down my spine. Arno Frisch is hot too....going for the bad guy....

  • naomi watts nude and they don't show it?

  • "OUTRAGE" =P

I think the point of this film is it does stay very clean.

    Evrything is implied.

  • Naomi is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's A kinda of ridicolous movie... take a look at TAKESHI MIIKE's AUDITION, there's a different introspection ad use of violence. That's is just non-sence at all

  • danivillain: That's it, Murder By Numbers. Thanks. I am so sick of seeing Michael Pitt play the psychopathic, messed up killer. To say nothing of the fact that he's typecasting himself which is deadly in the acting business. He'll spend the rest of his life playing psychos..think Anthony Perkins.

  • Michael Pitt's career is slowly being flushed down the toilet of typecasting. He played the same stupid, psycho creep in that film with Sandra Bulloc. (title escapes me-also about games) He plays a college kid who with his friend kill girls for thrills. Sandra Bullock plays the policewoman.

  • I think it's "Murder by Numbers".

  • see tubby no jelly roles. lol

ya this movie was pretty good...until the remote. killed the movie so hard! like logan said, i think we were all like, YES! that fucker got shot! then he revives. totally kills it. i would acutally love the movie had it not been for that one part.. well acutally. the dog and kid parts are so fucked up. oh and it took the lady like 20 min to get the tape off. which was incredibly boring.

  • then you missed the entire point of the movie

  • the remote controll part i think did not kill it its about time the bad guys ACTUALLY win over the good guys i dont really think there is another movie like that were the bad guys triumph over the good guys

  • The remote control part is just part of Haneke's humor on how Hollywood has a person take revenge on the other person, so by putting in this scene, he had the viewers see 2 parts of what would've happened. It's something like that.

  • i loved this movie just great

  • (SPOILERS: PLEASE DON'T READ UNLESS YOU'VE SEEN IT!)

    I loved this movie, seriously...

up to the point of the remote control scene...

    It was just ridiculous.

I cheered when the wife shot the guy,

but WTF... the rewind? and the changing of the scene! Okay, it was "film art" but it pretty much ruined the movie for me. I turned it off after a minute after the scene. Made me so mad!

  • a mentally ill person could be seriously inspired by this film for all the wrong reasons. We'll have another Charles Manson.

  • are you guys serious. that's could be so true

  • What is the name of the song at the end? PLEASE HELP!

  • mutalation is the most sincere form of flattery by marilyn manson

  • It's by Marilyn Manson, the name escapes me. I don't pay too much atttention to the trash made by MM.

  • ^_^ Great scene.

  • Look, this is a horror film. Horror films generally have some scenes to instill horror in the audience. If you want to see killers put to justice, then go watch Law and Order. If not, then stay, but do not complain when you are the one watching the video in the first place.

  • what does this have to do with marilyn manson?

  • They don't rape a girl. They just want her to take off her clothes that's all that happens. The killers find violence interesting. It's not Protest. It's horror smart guy. Think before you post.

  • You have ovbousily never seen the film to understand the "moral" of the story, bzelitois.

  • The movie shows violence is bad

  • Ridiculous. Movies like this are pure shock value pieces of garbage. No plot. No point.

  • That's a ridiculous statement.

People go and see horror movies wanting to see something scary and disturbing, but when they actually see something that's disturbing then it becomes pointless schock value? How is this? Because most people's idea of disturbing horror is the Prom Night remake?

  • you have obviously not seen the film, the film's director, haneke, holds the exact same opinion that you express here, the film's purpose is to highlight this fact at expose how ridiculous hollywood can be

  • yea, filling your head with sh** from an early age can't affect you at all...

  • haahah!! xD you two people below be fighting are so cute hahaha!

  • i don't understand what he means about the jelly rolls

  • when a person is overweight they tend to have hanging fat on their sides...you can google if you want to see what i mean xDD

  • yeah more violence!!! let's have some more blood among already depraved youngsters. the movie might be inteligent in its basis but it will have bad influence on all those young viewers who don't see much difference between violence and harmony. so this movie blind insight into blind society.

  • I do not agree with you. I'm 16, and violent movies don't affect me in any way. I find them entertaining. And I've seen R rated films as far back as I can remember. If a movie can have that great an influence on your child then maybe you're not doing something right.

  • it doesnt affect u?!u put a clip of a fucked up movie on here!

  • ...what's your point?

  • my point is rape is a no no
