@simontja Uh, I think we do. It's only Americans who call the European blueberry 'bilberries'. It's an accent thing, see. We call the 'blåbär' which translates to, not a huge surprise here, blueberries.
@simontja Not from what I've heard, but I really don't care. It's not like it matters, the berry is the same regardless of the name. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, and all that.
Please can someone help me... I want the whole show on a DVD to give to my Swedish wife to remind her of her home town! I have looked all over the internet to buy either just this one or the whole series, but to no avail! Does anyone know where or how I can achieve this?
"Just put in your gob and think of Sweden" haha. What he says about Swedish food being clean and pure is so true. I'm in Sweden on exchange from Canada and I think the food is significantly better than at home.
I've been to Sweden before, and no offense but I didn't like the food at all.. but then again, I'm mexican and our food is way different. Also, Jamie is right, swedish women are indeed the most beautiful women of all.
@Yopz it's hard to compete with Mexican food, you have one of the best cousins in the world ! We swedes got long cold winters and back in the days it was all about survival. Save and preserve food for the winter. Anyways there are alot of goodies but it depends alot on the season. Pickled food, smoked food etc is common because of our though climate.
Jamie doesn't cook the food the way I'm used to. That is a very positive thing though! I like to see a little 'twist' to the ordinary Swedish food! Thumbs up not this comment, but Jamie's cooking!
As a Swede I must say that, despite the olive oil, his salmon looks beautiful and (although slightly different from what is considered traditional here) quite faithful to the original dish.
However, he forgets to mention that you should never attempt this without freezing the fish for a couple of days before, which kills off the parasites. It's just like when you're making sushi. Many people seem to thing that the curing process substitutes freezing, which it doesn't.
What's up with Anna's accent? She must be half british/british because her accent is just too good to be a non native speaker, I'm just being curious!
Amazing show really! Makes me proud to be swedish! :)
[yoda]Hungry I have become, yes![/yoda] Hmm, come to think of it, I've oot apples, pancakes, ice cream, maple syrup, vanilla and god knows what. Time for experiment!
With that amazing music and pictures from my dear and amaxing Stockholm leaves me with goosebumps...we never seem to be greatful about what we actually got! Nothing can be compared with Sweden on a warm summer night it is TRULY amazing and something that you have to do before you die!
does jamie ever NOT use lemon?? I love his ideas, and food, but IGEN IGEN AGAIN AGHIN ENCOUR ENCOUR. .. det er det sammen, its the same, c'est la meme chose!Come on man... im not convinced anymore. but u think ur enthusiasm is great!
