When a relationship ends quickly there is no closure(Theory). When there's no closure in a relationship you find yourself looking at your life in the third person, and changing who you are. More clues to this conclusion are "take a second" alluding to changing one's persona quickly. Moreover you are presented the line "No time to think, much less react to the knife in your back," once again sustaining the theory that departure from what was normal occurred very expediently.
"These scars are ours for all time," sums it all up for me. In my interpretation I conclude that the writer ( The 1st person, who states " If I put my mind to it I can figure it out") suffered losing someone quickly, and believes there will never be closure, and thus feels that " these scars are ours for all time.
The song changes from first person to third often so it is difficult to know whether Adriana is the first person who states "If I put my mind to it I can figure it out," or the person who is the other piece of this duality. However there are clearly only two people involved. One who left abrubtly, and the other left to pick up the pieces. The chorus is simple.
Whomever was left with questions, the one who suffered, is obsessed with figuring out what went wrong. That simple. Take this for what it is, maybe it will help with your own interpretation. You have to read these posts backwards. Sorry. Had to copy-paste from Word.
Fuck man, should upload more of there tunes, this is a great band, haven't heard them since back when it came out, and now can't find nuthin on them, except for this song ... Thanks for posting it, would like to hear more !
This band is number 1 to me I didn't hear about them until 2003 and still have the CD I bought and have listened to ever scene I wish I could find more music by them YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!
The guitarist is sending me some cd's - I don't know what's on them - possibly some live stuff. I might be getting it 11/06/08 and I'll post whatever I get on the website.
Oups, my mistake. They actually did 2 albums. Brain (1996) and Headstrong (2002). But the first one is more a demo ep. I only have the second one. Too bad these guys aren't together anymore... Their music was really great, still listen to it these days.
Word. Sometimes you can find the rarest stuff on this site. I didn't expect anything would come up when I did this search, but whaddya know! That self-titled was a great album: hard, heavy, fast, and strange. Haven't found anything like it since.

Are these guys still together? This band is so awesome. They never got the credit they deserved.

They broke up in 2003, just after their label was dropped.
