I love this game. AVGN and Irate Gamer suck at this game. Not all hard games are bad. This is a good game AVGN bashed because of how difficult the gameplay is, so fuck him. The controls were decent, graphics were great, and the gameplay carried this game to a million copies sold. It just pisses me off AVGN bashed this game.
I haven't played this game in 21 years, but I've always remembered the tune of the 'overworld'. Maybe because I was 5 years old, so obsessed that I wore nothing but TMNT clothes and this game was the most exciting thing in the world for me. Awesome to see it all again. :D

I played the shit out of this game when I was a kid. To the point where levels like the electric seaweed could be completed without taking any damage. I was never able to beat the game though. My older God brother and I would try and beat it for hours and never get any further. He told me his cousin or friend was really good at it and he could beat it for us. One day he actually showed up and we got to see him beat what we couldnt for ages. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw at that point.
This game is so hard - and I suck so hard at it - it makes me laugh. It's a miracle if I can complete the dam bomb level. But I keep coming back to it. It's so culturally significant to me, and just plain cool with its music and graphics.

I never use Donatello in the water level. I always bring in Raphael and let him take some for the team. If I owned a Lamborghini and a Ford Escort, I would make sure to drive the Escort through a freezing rain storm. If I'm coaching a football team, and we're leading 42-0 in the 4th quarter, I'm pulling my super stars and letting the second and third stringers get some action.
The flies ( 0:16 ), the butterflies ( 2:24 ), the AT-ST and the crazy australians from the outbacks ( 2:43 ), the DREADED HARPS ( 4:33 ), the chainsaw maniac ( 5:12 ), the guy I used to call turdman when I was a kid ( 5:18 ), Pancake UFO ( 5:32 )... This game had some messed up enemies!
Grand Theft Auto is great, but in all honesty, if they told me they were going to start making 80's style video games again, but the only hitch was I had to sacrifice my copy of GTA 4, sorry Rockstar, I would not only sacrifice it, but sacrifice it to the ancient gods of a jungle temple during a full moon. TMNT for Nintendo brightened up many rainy days for me. Nice video.

This game was amazing in so many ways and offered tons of pure fun back in the day: amazing graphics, great music, challenging enemies, the ability to switch between all 4 turtles at any time in the game (which is unique in the history of TMNT games, none of the other games have that) the possibility to use the turtle van (shoot move, destroy foot soldiers, cars and barricades with it), a fight against the TechnoDrome, this game had EVERYTHING in it (except Krang, but that's ok).

It's too bad all the turtles do the same damage. The only diff is some of them have a longer attack range. But why bother playing as them when you can just pick Donatello?
after doing research, some have told me that the turtles did have different power attacks. And attack speeds. Raph and Mike having the quickest, yet short range but did big damage. Don diong the least but having the longest range
strange when i played don always did a block of damage so i always used him for bosses and i wasnt sure but mike might have had better defense but that might have been guessing oh well i believe you then just saying what i got from the game
further research has told me this. Don has long range, but little damage and dies quickly. Michaelangelo has the fastest attack and his damage is normal. Raph has the shortest range but biggest damage. Leo is somewhere in the middle.
Thumbs up if you played this when you were a kid and now wanna play this game when you're a grown man!

I had (and still have) the Commodore64 version of this game, and it is considerably easier than this version!!
It's still a very tough game, but with a slightly different and less death defying layout. I can see why AVGN hated the NES version so much!! The C64 version is one of my favorite games

Those were the days... But why did you choose Donatello for the diving challenge?
Donatello is the most effective Fighter with his bo. I wouldn't immolate his energy. I always chose Raphael for this :o)

This game was amazing in so many ways and offered tons of pure fun back in the day: amazing graphics, great music, challenging enemies, the ability to switch between all 4 turtles at any time in the game (which is unique in the history of TMNT games, none of the other games have that) the possibility to use the turtle van (shoot move, destroy foot soldiers, cars and barricades with it), a fight against the TechnoDrome, this game had EVERYTHING in it (except Krang, but that's ok).

James Rolfe is only in character and the series is meant as satire.

i still love this game. i downloaded it on my Wii, and i can't believe the stuff i forgot. back in the day, i thought the art in this game was amazing. some of the techniques and tricks you used in these videos is the exact same as the ones my brother and i used when we were kids. love it!

well, if you have wireless interwebs (a wireless connection in your house) and a wii, with at least 500 wii shop points, you can go on tha virtual channel and DL ONE copy of this game! hope that help'd

It's too bad all the turtles do the same damage. The only diff is some of them have a longer attack range. But why bother playing as them when you can just pick Donatello?

after doing research, some have told me that the turtles did have different power attacks. And attack speeds. Raph and Mike having the quickest, yet short range but did big damage. Don diong the least but having the longest range

strange when i played don always did a block of damage so i always used him for bosses and i wasnt sure but mike might have had better defense but that might have been guessing oh well i believe you then just saying what i got from the game

further research has told me this. Don has long range, but little damage and dies quickly. Michaelangelo has the fastest attack and his damage is normal. Raph has the shortest range but biggest damage. Leo is somewhere in the middle.
