Also, just my personal preference -- when attempting to go past the razor-tentacle monsters, I recommend chucking hand grenades instead of using the grenade launcher, because the hand grenades are less powerful and much less useful than the grenade launcher in combat. So, it makes sense to use them instead. It should only take 3 hand grenades to get past all three monsters.

I should add to my tip for sneaking by the big blue monster -- when you're hiding in the tiny cave containing the energy cell, wait a bit before you go back outside. THe monster will return, hang out for a moment, then leave the area. NOW go outside and quickly jump onto the rocks and across the gap. Do it quickly, because the monster will return in a hurry. You may have to re-load your saved game a few time before you do it successfully, but it can be done.

Actually, you can sneak by that big blue pain in the ass monster without killing him. It's a little tough. When he spots you and starts coming after you, run ahead of him and lead him to the outside area, climbing onto the high rock for a vantage point. WHen the monster goes off to the right a bit, run back into the cave until you get to the area where he was hanging out in, originally. Get the energy from the small cave, then jump across the ledge. It's tricky, but doable.

Damn, if we had some sort of limitless supply of healing supplies rather then a man who will only give you health kits at 60% health, or rather not at all, Half-Life and it's counter parts of an episodic base would be quite easier.

for the big guy, I put all my mines in the tunnel before I had him attack me. After i set those off it only took like 1-2 rockets to finish him off. Saved me a lot of life.

Hey, with the Gargantua can't you just use the grove of xen trees to kill it? That's what I did. I had it chase me to the grove of xen trees then I just jumped on top of the cave and the trees stabbed the gargantua to death.

3:50 - instead of running from it, hide in the hole which leads to the big health-pool. You can easily shoot it from there with granades and not take even 1 damage. :) It's much easier to take him there since the space is too little for him to manoeuvre.

I used the Bee gun all the time, against Xen soldiers, masters, everything. :) Thus, I had plenty of ammo 4 the end.

Though, its not the strongest weapon, but its limitless, and that's the power of it. And of course heat-seaking. XD

can i say that when you see the gargantua you're supposed to run past it and hide in the hole with the snark/bug thing... it eventually gets bored of looking for you then you proceed towards the tentacle thing, it saves ammo i suppose but then again with your way it was cool watching the gargantua blow up... hmmm, it depends how much ammo you have in which way you want to do it... well anyway ive spent all day watching your videos nice job :P

I read up about it apparently they're Xens tpye of thumpers and in HL2 combine use thumpers to keep antlions away so it may explain why there are no antlions in Xen

worst tactics I've ever seen: gargantua can be killed by solely rocket launcher. You spend 2 shells per vortigaunt, while it's better to just pump 1 shell in 'em by standing right in front of them. And more, but I'm not gonna start on that.
