It is such a shame that there are people on here claiming to hear gunshots on the recording being played with this film clip. First of all, you aren't even in the correct location of the recording where the "shots" ( that aren't there) were supposedly found. Secondly, further study on the recording proved that the "gunshots" segment is over a minute AFTER the shooting.

I have not every heard any recording of this. Although I do remember the day Kennedy was shot. I also have shot, hunted and done target practice. Both rifles and shot guns. The head shot is a little disconcerning. The report that I hear of impact to the head and the amount of time from the muzzle sound is A great deal closer then expected from the distance from Book Depository. Unless the shells were inhanced with more power. Also, brain tissue from JFK to Rt rear of car , Shot from rear>?Hmm NO

you can actually see the frame with the fatal shot, you can see it hit him. i find this whole assassination fascinating. i wasn't born when it happened, so i can't completely understand the emotional tragedy this was for america, at least not in it's entirety. but whoever shot and killed President Kennedy shot him in public, in front of a large amount of people, during an event that was filmed, and he still hasn't been caught. it angers and fascinates me. My best wishes go to the Kennedy family.

@Migslayer101 no i dont think thats rude at all if trying to find out what really happened one needs to ask and see graphic stuff. but no his face was perfectly fine considering what happened. the weird thing is the drs at parkland hospital (in dallas) all say the throat wound was an entrance wound and the back of his head was blown out which would indicate a shot from the front. an exit wound is much bigger and messier. an entrance wound is usually small and neat.

I guess you forgot to mention that the dictabelt recording was made from an open mike at the Trade Mart, several miles from the scene of the assasination, and that it was made several minutes after the shots were fired.

@ricotermonen : Henry Ford Museum in Detroit. However, it bears no resemblance to the actual assassination as it was in 1963. LBJ had it completely refurbished and armored, and the limo was used up through the Carter administration, I think.

In Channel 1 (Dallas police, microphone struck) it could be hear four shots. In channel 2 (Secret service and Jesse Curry) two shots, maybe three.

At channel two shots are audible at 00:45 and 00:49

@tarkus223 That's not a gunshot, it's the sound from their walkie-talkies. When you stop pushing the transmitter button [not sure exactly what it's called] it makes a distinctive "pff" noise. What bell sound? That's people cheering...

@DrummingWithDale I don't hear any gunshots here. I do hear squelch tails. Those are noise bursts generated by a FM receiver when the signal goes away until the squelch closes and mutes the noise.

Dallas Sheriff Bowles wrote an excellent paper saying that none of these recordings have the gunshots of the assassination. At other times real gunshots have been recorded by police radios and there's no mistaking them. Just not this time.
