EASIEST WAY TO MAKE SMS TONE FOR IPHONE WITHOUT USING ITUNES.. USING IFUNBOX

I'm trying to get my whatsapp chat history back on to my iphone i've both files Documents and Library which i've retrieved from a previous back up all i want to do is get them back in right place in the raw file system so i can get the chat history back

oh my god! I have IOS 5 and just realized that you can now pick custom sms tones from the settings menu!

I'm so fucking stupid.

1. Jailbreak phone

2. DL iFunBox and the Mp3 converter

3. Get an Mp3 and convert it to an AIFF

4. rename your AIFF file to sms-received6 (be sure to spell 'receive' right. i didnt.). Replace .aiff with .caf. If you dont see it go to folder options and enable it

5. Open iFunBox Raw File system>system>library>audio>UI­Sounds

6. drag sms-received6.caf into that folder

7. SPELL RECEIVED RIGHT.

Thanks! Worked. At first it was just silent and nothing happened when I tried to preview it but I did a hard reset (power button and home button, google it lol) and when my phone restarted my sms horn tone is now a dracula tone and awesome!!!

To do this for iPhone 4 (4.3.5), does it need to be jailbroken? I'm trying to get the themes and things I got from Cydia on my jb iPhone 3g (4.2.1). I don't have the 'var' folder on my iPhone 4. Could I jailbreak it (tethered) then copy the files from my old 3g to my brand new 4? Will the files still be there after the jailbreak goes away when I shut it off?

@MissMikah16 and cydia apps for 3g are not HD ... for iphone 4 you i recommend you to have HD themes.. many 3g themes dont go well... and inorder to un jailbreak is the only way to restore your device, and in tethered jailbreak swictching off ur phone doesnt mean that jailbreak goes away.. its there but ur device is in pwn mode.

@spquea100 if ur device is on baseband 06.15.00 den its quite simple... download firmware 4.1 and restore from itunes ..please make sure that ur device is in recovery mode.. even u have no SHSH blog saved it works.
