  • 2:45 I see you can move the arms to alter the wdith and Im guessing it make you go faster/slower

  • @ViperCodeGames Yeah, opening and closing the wings influences the amount of generated lift, which makes you fall faster of slower, which in a way controls your speed.

  • @Serialtinus Pretty realistic then. The white lines that come from the top of the guy, when using gizmos, are those raycasts?

  • @qwakadundy Unity3D, its an amazing 3D engine(he's using pro though which allows the shadows and blur)

  • @ViperCodeGames awesome i was hoping he was using unity, shame the free version dosent have blur and shadows, ah well, games can still be epic without it, i hope i will be able to create physics like this sometime because i want to do some kind of airdrop for my character

  • @qwakadundy I actually removed motion blur for newer versions, since it got a bit annoying. You can make great stuff without fancy post processing.

    The shadow turns out to be great fun to have around though. Seeing your shadow swooping over the ground near you tells you a lot about what's going on. :)

  • @Serialtinus yer, gives a great feel also, ah well my game is gonna take place at night so no shadows really need cos i may ake it so tht the character sees in black and white due to haveing burning oil in his eyes wen he was younger

  • wow. ive been playing so much B.A.S.E. fro now and i think its a nice simulator but I cant land on my feet for shit. i really want to have an actual parachute/freefall/wingsuite/b­asejump game

  • @The1995David Heya, thanks! I'm slowly working towards a testable version which may or may not involve preordering. Stay tuned to find out when and how this happens. One major hurdle is getting a nice 3D character model in there, after that... We'll see. :)

  • @EricsonBurrellicuify To elaborate: The first form of multiplayer will be splitscreen, as that's easiest to build. After that I will try getting network play running.

  • dude i think that when you roll , you should tuck in your wings , because if you leave them open , you would like be stopping yourself , so yeah , make a little animation of that , is the parachute gonna be animation based or physics?

  • @brotherlybrother11 You're right, in real life flight the relative wind is way too strong for you to barrel roll without closing your wings. My physical model of the wing is still a little too simple, and I'll be fixing that further down the road.

    My goal is to keep *everything* physics-based, no animation whatsoever. That goes for the parachute too. :)

  • @brotherlybrother11 I have enough plans to fill a decade, so I dunno. :) I'd like the game to stay fluid for a while, just seeing where things will go. That way the game will stay fresh.

  • Very nice work Martijn! Really cool that you've incorporated the shadow of the wing flyer on the mountainside now.

    Although I must say the barrel rolls and other movements are quite a bit faster than in real life. The relative wind gives too much pressure to make them that quick.

  • @costynvd Thanks, that's exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for. :) I've got no hard figures, so everything is guesstimated. Plans for physics updates are being drawn, I'll keep this in mind!

  • @Serialtinus I'm sure you've seen the videos, but try to see the speed of the moves we do in our videos. Like the artistic comp videos has lots of barrel rolls and frontloops to see realistic speeds :)

  • @lucas160296 Don't sell him short. This shouldn't be free, it'd make a great 10-15 dollar steam game. If he makes money on it he'll continue to make it better :)

    ps I love the first person mode.

  • @Octamed Thanks! Yeah, that's kind of what I'm going for. Money's needed for continued development, but I certainly won't be asking for huge sacks of cash. :)

  • @lucas160296 Glad to hear you want to play! Like Octamed explains, money is needed in order to develop the game further and really make it shine. I'm still thinking about the specifics, but rest assured it won't hurt you wallet too much! There will be some amount of free content too, probably in the form of a browser embedded version. That way people can check out the game and see if they like it. :)

  • @Serialtinus And another thing, can you make sure to not be able to damage your gear because if you do in B.A.S.E from d3 you cant use it anymore :(

  • @EricsonBurrellicuify Yeah, I never like that feature. It just gets in the way, really. No permanent gear damage in Volo. :)
