  • What was the reason for not clearing the cravat ? you seemed to be flying a good course and stable, if the stab line pulling don't work, pull both A's down to collapse the cravated side and it should clear..

  • Hope you do not have the chance to try it though... :) Anyway, the stabilo line pulling is indeed effective. i've try it and it get the cravatte out without problem. It is the line from the B's which goes to the very end of the glider, usually is with a different color also.

  • Thanks papucimurdari for the information. I`m going to try it this summer.

  • Couple of questions if you don`t mind. What is a stabilo line ? and what would cause the glider to do that. Thanks for your time.

  • @49sled the outer B-line is the stabilo.you pull on it when you have a cravatte.Uncontrolled pitch movement causes a glider to do a front stall.when the glider stays back, the brake lines ar up,when the glider comes forward, you brake it.

  • why didnt you pull the stabilo line....????

  • I have reserve, but I do not like to lose control of glider , I saw that I can land without problems in the field. And out of a field landing to stones is not possible without injury.

  • Do you have reserve? Why did you not use it?

  • good to see that you did not panic and over react and make things worse. Good choice to fly it out as you still had some control.

  • With such big cravatte and above large opened field I would certainly go for reserve. Lucky man if you landed with no injuries.

  • I have landed ок, camera on my helmet is directed upwards on glider, it does not display my actions, but it is visible glider.

  • Obviously you didn'get down ok, I hope you didn't hurt yourself on that hard impect with the ground. Did you try to pull your stabilo-line ? Or do you think that would have made the situation worse ? Do you have the barograph of this incident ? Wish you many happy landings. Tim

  • did you get down ok? did you consider the reserve seems a long way without getting the cravatte out - I'm suprised it didn't react more violently...jamie
