Maybe mechanical lift like a 20 knot wind up the side of a mountain, but probably not a thermal. I would imagine about a 14 to 1 glide ratio on the Kolb. My Kasperwing has about a 18 to 1 and so could thermal which I did often. Most of my flight was power off after altitude. Precision spot landings were always great fun.
Just proves flying a really simple and inexpensive microlight is what it's all about really. Same as flying a vintage glider imho, far more fun than te heavy glass ships ;-)
Qual o preço médio que irei pagar por um desse ai?
Sem carenagem sem nada... somente motor e estrutura basica. Ou seja, sem a superficie aerodinamica da frente dele, apenas com o banco... de cara para o vento!

What type of Kolb Ultralight is this? Who is the manufactures? How can I have the Kolb Ultralight plans? Please write me from pilotvedat@hotmail.com .
Chuck, how about more raw footage. Please send all raw footage of the Ultrastar and the Zipper to dlong1957@yahoo.com please. We talked about it at Sun-N-Fun this year when I bought 4 of your video's. I now have three planes, the Ultrastar, Zenair Zipper and a Firestar. Trying to find a Hiperlite if I can. Want to sponsor a collection? :)

Did that guy buckled up before takeoff? Didn't see him doing it after he put his helmet on.

Hi has any one ever managed to stay up with the engine off in one of these
The aspect ratio of the wing looks like its on the limit but on a good day with a lot of lift I recon you could thermal one of these.
Any one ever tried it?

At 2:01, what version is that? It looks like an Ultrastar with a much simpler cockpit. I've never seen it and wonder why it wasn't pursued?

Have no idea what the But-butt thing means. However, google "the new kolb company" if you want one. Chuck
