  • shut up and burn something 0.o

  • are you rich or you are crazy ? 4000 bucks for a laser

  • can you make a video burning something with this BEAST??

  • @AntwnhsTswlhs :

Watch my latest video called 'The Big Lazor' :o)

  • What are the common uses for that exact instrument (the hercules laser)?

  • for a laser at that price and that big. you would think it would have a rechargable lithium battery.

  • how much money did this cost and were did u get it

  • @lowriderlawn :

Watch 4:19 in the video (and turn annotations on).

I personally bought it second hand from a guy who had imported it to Denmark many years ago so it is not interesting what I paid. You can get a new one from laserglow (dot) com for 1389$ as of September 2011.

  • @brainiac75 holy mother of pearl lol whats the best green laser for say 50 bucks

  • lol were u walking through and standing in front of those badass laser from 3:30 to 3:56

sorry if my english is incorrect

  • @iengc1007kv :

Not really. I was walking/standing beside the laser beams and holding the camera in stretced arms right over the beams. My eyes were never close to the beams. The camera was in danger though but this was filmed with an old camera (it's not even widescreen...).

  • laserglow is way too expensive, there are much better deals to be had

  • films perfect excellent good oryginal

  • i have 4 lasers and there pen sized specificaly the ne3w wish SD powerd true 5 (; ..fun...yours is vary awsome!! air cooled pump diode !!! o.O and the case...thats so cool

  • what are the songs?

  • Man! This is an Epically nerdy you tube film!

  • Isnt the Hercules-800 the most expensive portable laser ?

    It costs 5389$ xD

  • Would it burn a hole in something, or light a match?

  • Hello Brainiac!

I'm planning to buy an Hercules 500 this Spring.

But I have a big problem: the customs.

I live in Italy, and in Italy lasers over 1 mW is illegal, also if it's FDA compliant!

Some times ago I have buyed a cheap 50 mW green laser from China, and was seized by the customs. So I was forced to assemble by myself some nice red, blue and green lasers buying separate components around the world ;(

  • Thus, customs charge the value of an imported items of about 25% of the total value, a really theft!! Can You help me in order to find a nice way to import this monster with a very little percentage of risk? Thanks a lot in advice!

  • hey is the galileo a good laser

  • @pengeano35 :

I have no personal experience with the Galileo. At $90 for 5 mW it is in the enthusiast range where high quality counts so I wouldn't recommend it as a first laser. Go for a cheap eBay laser if that is your case. Much more mW per $ and in the 5 mW range they are not overrated as many of the higher powered eBay lasers. The Galileo also uses a CR123 battery which is not that common in a normal household as the AA batteries that a eBay pen laser uses.

  • u have such a cool collection of lasers i have a 10mw 405nm blue violet pointer the hulk 150mw green laser from dragonlasers, a genuine 5mw green from ebay with the chrome metal body and 2 generic red laser pointers both one 50mw the other 5mw

  • this laser is so inpractical, its stupidly overpriced, and there is no point to have such a powerful laser. and what can this possibly be used for?!!

  • @ChristianEvolution:

In my life things don't have to be practical to justify their existence. I own this laser because it never ceases to amaze me and all other people that sees it in real life.

It's like fireworks: visually spectacular and also a little dangerous (adrenaline inducing). Lasers and fireworks are quite boring on video compared to real life action.

I would also buy a Ferrari - if I could - even though they are impractical, expensive and I really don't need such a powerful car.

  • @ChristianEvolution Its not overpriced, high quality, rare stuff costs. And also it is meant for lab use its like a portable lab laser (it can be powered from the wall and it has a 100% duty cycle)

  • Today, Laserglow company, selling 900 mW model, called a Hercules-800 ! But it cost $5389 !!! :(

  • Why spend fucking 2 grand on a laser?

  • Does the the operating temperature 15-35°C cause any difficulties or problems?

  • @jericoba :

Not for me. They even recommend not leaving the laser on for more than 2 minutes at temperatures above 25 degree C but this is very conservative. With its huge heat sink and temperature-controlled fan I have never had heating issues - even at a room-temperature of 30 degree C. I haven't even seen the red hi-temp diode light up. According to the manual this will light up when the temperature in the laser cavity is above 38 degree C but it takes 80 degree C to damage the unit.

  • 22 +4 26 5/5-:-DDDD.

  • @brainiac75 omg thats probably what the military uses to kill people haha jk

is there any way you could send me a link of an amazon.com blue laser that would easily light fireworks??? (reasonable price of course (under 100))

  • @ros6666 :

No, sorry, I don't think that a blue burning laser (~200 mW for fireworks) exists except as DIY for under $100. There might be a violet blu-ray laser at 200 mW though.

  • i have one small q-- how long would this take to burn through ur hand?

  • @ros6666 :

My pain threshold is way too small to test that... Any volunteers? c",)

On a more serious note: it would take a long time. Flesh is not that dark a material and has a high heat capacity due to the large percent of water.

I have ordered an even better burner though: a blue laser twice as powerful as my Hercules. I will upload a comparison video when it arrives (hopefully this summer).

  • @brainiac75 lol yea i was jking but have u gotten the hercules 550? most expensive laser out there :)

i dont have nearly enough money to get any of these so i just stick to the youtube videos :)

do you know how low the mW can go for blue lasers and still easily burn?

i really want to order one from amazon.com but not spend much and still have it to light fireworks.

  • nice music choise!

  • I like how at 1:39 you called its holding case a cage! haha :)

  • @samsomiller :

Yep. This laser scares me a little, so I only feel safe when it's in its 'cage' (c:

  • what are they used for?

  • SO AWESOME!!! I WISH I COULD AFFORD IT

  • @CTheAwesomePowner only 975 now

  • I thank you at a comprehensive film on a theme these two firms helped me very presently I know on what to decide THE Best-brainiac75 3X5/5

  • lol baretta......

they also sell it at sears

  • What does it cost ?

  • thats an awesome laser very big bulky powerul and heavy all the signs of a good high quality powerful laser. i have a 175mw hulk laser from dragon lasers just like the aries but with no safety keys it still has a lens shutter though. my 175mw laser would look wimpy compared to your hercules 400mw laser: loaded with solid green light and a massive 400mw which would wash a beam from a 175mw green laser away

  • the new one is 750mW

  • Where and what for is such a beasty laser used for ?

  • To destroy enemy tie fighters in earth's orbit and to take out the sheild's of heavy star cruisers.........also to burn shit and look cool :)

  • I have the galileo 5.

  • I just ordered the optotronics premium 150 mW. What sort of batteries do you recomment for that? Batteries are not just batteries. I live in DK too so should be able to get the same. Great vid btw :)

  • @kajoandrea:

Your ordered laser is a genuine powerfull laser with a 1000 mW (1 watt) pump diode so I would go for Duracell Ultra.

Remember the 60/60 second duty cycle of your laser as the cooling head is not large in a pen laser for a 1 watt diode laser :o)

  • Ok, Ill get some of these than. Rechargebels is a no go?

  • @kajoandrea:

Based on reviews your pointer will work fine on 1.2V rechargeables, so if you are gonna use it alot, you could go for rechargeable batteries.

Some even claim rechargeables to be a better choice because they have lower internal resistance and therefore are better at delivering high amps in short time.

I doubt that you will be able to tell the difference but feel free to experiment :o)

  • ok, takker :)

  • How come you can't see the green line as good as the other laser like the hulk green light laser ?

  • Go to 2:22 in the video, hit pause and read.

Video settings on my camera could be another explanation. My next video will probably be with smoke in the air which makes the beam much, much, much more visible. But then the beam will just be a solid line. In this video you can see the twinkling effect as particles in the air crosses the beam.

  • How big is that first one ?

  • The first laser at 0:15 is the Laserglow Hercules. It is 38,5 cm long (~15.2 inches) and the head is 5,4 cm in diameter (~2.13 inches).

I don't know if they have made a new version, because on their website the length is specified as 36,6 cm, but mine measures 38,5 cm long (39 including the 'key-knob' on the back).

  • you must have ab an absolute shit load of money. i'm going to buy the cheapest aries would that still be any good? not comparing it to the others for my first laser

  • The smallest Aries is only 20-34 mW sustained which means that there's a lot of lasers on eBay that can deliver the same for a lower price.

The quality of the Aries is much better but for your first laser I would recommend a cheap 50 mW from eBay.

If it thrills you then save up for a more powerfull and durable laser like the Aries-200 with true >200 mW ($589) - it's up to 10x stronger than Aries-20 but only 2,5x more expensive which makes it a much better buy if you ask me.

  • That's truly MUCH too big for a 400mW laser.

I have a 400mW myself, and it's a lot smaller, but with the same heat sink concept.

I even measured to output to make sure it's 400mW...

  • I like it big :o) Please make a video of your laser.

The Hercules is made to last - even when turned on for several hours straight every day in a laboratory.

The size is more or less determined by the three D-size batteries. The built-in fan with air ducts also takes up room.

  • I'm probably gonna disappoint you because the Beretta is an airsoft gun. Guns are not allowed in Denmark.

It's officially licensed though so it is an exact replica with the real Beretta logo and 1:1 scale so the size comparison is valid.

I wish I could buy a real one though...

At least there are no restrictions on air rifles, neodymium magnets or lasers in Denmark so my money is the only limitation. Still would prefer no limitations on guns though. I'll have to move to USA when I'm retired :o)

  • best laser video on youtube :)

  • This is the Worlds Best portable laser system. Correct?

  • Well, I haven't seen a portable, battery-operated laser with more reliable specs, quality and features, so you might call this the worlds best portable laser. And after the price-drop to $1989 even reasonably priced!

  • Awesome And Thanks For the Great Video!!

  • lol I dont wanna spend THAT much... but warnlasers has a 700mw laser pointer

  • Well, Warnlasers measures PEAK over 30 seconds (if he measures at all...) while Laserglow measure AVERAGE over 10 minutes. Their output isn't comparable and a I wouldn't dare to leave a Warnlaser on for 6 hours straight as the Hercules can with it's built-in fan. Quality costs.

  • how much is the aries?

  • The Aries-125 used to cost nearly $600 (+shipping, VAT etc.) but I have just visited their website and the price has dropped to $439. I could have bought an Aries-200 for $600 if I had waited 2 years. Just shows that laser technology is constantly evolving and turning more affordable. Can't wait to buy an affordable 1 watt green laser...

  • I would consider buying one but i HATE the 2 second output delay. Is there a way to fix it?

  • The 2 second delay doesn't bother me at all. It's part of the FDA approval and impossible to remove unless you're an expert in electronics and take the laser apart (warranty loss!). As I state at 4:10 in the video you could use the TTL modulation input to avoid the delay. Solder a simple on/off button on the supplied connector cord and you can turn the laser on/off without delay after the intial start-up (which will still have a 2 second delay...).

  • You can turn the laser on or off up to 200 times a second without delay with this method if your hand is fast enough :o) But you would still have the initial 2 second delay before it goes into TTL-mode and it would be impractical to walk around with the laser and a cord with a button dangling from it...

  • i would choose laserglow over wikedasers anyday! 5*

  • or any laser store for that matter

  • lmao when i get older im buying a hercules laser but wtf a berreta wth you get that lol

  • Dude!

I work for Laserglow Technologies!!!! This is an awesome video! Thx for posting!

  • Thank you. Hope you enjoy your job. I would consider it one of the best places to work :o)

  • Best job I've ever had. I play with lasers all day. What's cooler than that????????

Maybe playing guitar, or taking pictures of naked ladies, but lasers are cool too!!!!!

  • hey do you really cuz i was just wondering if you guys would match price for the laser safety goggles cuz nova lasers sells pro safety goggles, safety case, safety strap, micro fiber cloth for $69.99 and laserglow sells theirs for $89.99 and you only get the goggles so would you price match on tht thanx ur company is awesome quality i have the aries-35 thanx

  • do u always keep the batteries out of thhe laser and is it better to do tht rather than keep the batteries in?

  • I ALWAYS take the batteries out, when not in use. I don't want a leaking battery inside a multi-thousand dollar laser... Only disadvantage is wear on the thread of the cap end, but it is well-engineered so this is a only a theoretical issue. Always take the batteries out before storage.

  • nice video i so want tht laser

  • very nice video,great job :D

did you have some problems on customs ?

in which country do you live and how long did you wait for it ?

  • Thank you. I live in Denmark, where there are no problems with lasers and customs. You just have to pay custom duty etc. I bought this laser lightly used so I don't know about the delivery time.

  • hey do you have laserglow laser safety goggles theirs is a rip its like $50 more than other companys goggles are

  • No. The goggles in this video is not from Laserglow. They are from a danish dealer.

  • i like your hercules its so big compared to the aries (i have the aries) nice i subscribed, 5*, n commented

  • Well, thank you. Nice to meet a decent youtube commenter. I love the Aries. Big, yet handy. Powerful, yet affordable (sort of). And it beats all the standard pen size lasers which have highly exaggerated claims for power and short lifetime.
