  • A inline 4 engine? You mean AN inline 4 engine.

  • FUCKING stupid Canadians can't recognize a CRB125 to a RSV4 Factory!

all they know is a IN LINE 4 engine!

they probably rather drive a tuned 1994 Civic to a ZR1 Corvette!

  • ok

  • did i just see a smily face in his knee pads :) hahaha

  • jezus christ respect for this guy in rain??? whaha

  • so he is riding backwards in the rain, now thats a real biker....

  • hey MCN. i know this isnt the latest Review on the RSV4 but i guess the size stays about the same over the years. you mentioned being too tall for this bike. are there different sizes available? because im 192 cm tall (6 foot 4) but i love this bike and i was thinking about buying it. im worried that i'd be sitting unconfortably though. help?

  • How about u let me test it ;)

  • my dream bike....:(maybe in a few years ill be able to afford one...

  • @DR1ZERO

Let me be a smart ass for a second and say that you can still have mono through stereo speakers. Any single source (like a standard mono mic) is mono by default. In this case they just panned it to the right, which is quite annoying to listen to..

  • @dazzelya Quite right, guess i got the fool tag now :D

Stereo is diferent sounds on both (or more sides depending on the amount) of the speakers and mono is the same exact sound on all of them. Stereo/mono has nothing to do with absence of left/right sound which was what hapened here. Thanks for the notice, my bad :)

  • @DR1ZERO

    No problem. :p

I like MCN but for some reason they can't get the sound right on any of their videos.

  • Hey great vid. If I make a race vid will you guys help me with my sound? hahaha ha a he e hummm

  • damn where u kept the camera man? can't see anything at all...........ffff

  • Aprilia i love you:X

  • these guys have some huge balls

  • 20 000 euros bit small for me i guess

  • click 00:01 to skip ads :)

  • senti che motore...

  • fett das ding

  • lovin his knee pads

  • scream!!

  • Awesome sound.

  • Yes, i understand they will release a tuono naked bike with the v4 engine

  • Nice :)

  • nigel tuffnell?

  • Riding like that in the rain... Holy balls..

  • @P4ndaBear yeahn especially with totally new tires ...

  • @P4ndaBear have no fear lool

  • @P4ndaBear hahhaha! so silly! I just bout right died laughing at this comment.

  • that bike reminds me of a ferarri

  • i wonder if they will make a streetfighter version of this. they did with the rsv1000

  • really nice camara job man ! 4 and a half minutes and not one side shot !!!! zooming in on the bike sideways yes , i still dont know what it looks like

  • Love the V-4 Engine sound.

  • Pan your audio. Fuck's sake.

  • bitch

  • I was lucky enough to pick one up from the new Long Beach Aprilia dealership with the best mechanic for this bike Amauri, who set the sag for me before I happily rode off...many thanks for an easy and friendly transaction, the bike rides just as good as it looks...unbelievably SEXY!!!

  • WHYYYYYY is the fucking dialogue panned to the right??? Fuck....i cant watch the rest of this

  • Comment removed

  • Are they really running slicks on a wet asphalt track?

    Hmm. Unsafe much?

  • get your ass off there neevsey i need this bike NOW!

  • Maybe thnx to the expensive braking and suspension.

But this is fastest V4 at the moment at the track.

And i dont mean a few thousands a sec faster..

  • Let me get this straight... I am touted as a premier Moto news org. I have a badass reporting rider like Neeves, but i can't hire sound and film technicians competent enough to show my audience the most anticipated motorcycle in recent history??? Nice going MCN

  • only we italians are able to devise a competitive 4-cylinder V,against the japanese didn't succeed in moving from 4 cylinders in line.

This was designed by the engineer Lombardi, who designed the great engine of the Lancia Delta S4 Group B Rally.

  • I miss group B.

  • He also designed some of the best F1 V12s for Ferrari...!

  • lol, the italians are geniuses but the Japanese have built incredible bikes, so dont bash on them please.

  • Magnifico. Finally, a compact 1 liter bike for smaller guys like me. Now, where did I put that $20k wad of cash needed to buy this bike?

  • The exaust note sounds smoother than the ducati's on camera.

  • Blind man nough said

  • tell your mum to wear the red knickers tonight, enough said

  • too fucking expensive...

  • Too expensive, I can get a busa or an R1 plus any number of other bikes for cheaper.

  • GOD R U LISTENING

    I WANT 1!!!!

  • I like so much all RSV models!!!

  • go buy something bigger aprillia was biggest rsv sports bike out there do u know anythink i like v twins i want another v twin so make me a suggestion then a v twin sports bike for a 6ft4 guy iam waiting for your suggestions....doh

  • Chill out man. Go buy something bigger then.

  • It would be quite expensive if bikes were made for each shoe size.. :P Luckily I'm not tall so I'm happy with the bikes' size :)

  • bruttina a mio parere,ma deve essere un missile..

  • that's sounds good, the best sounding sport bike for me, compared to in line 4 and V2...

  • Simply an amazing bike, so exotic

  • Awesome bike, it looks like Aprilia is going to give it a high price tag. I'll stick with the Japanese machines for now.

  • d' best

  • Problem of the V's is that they don't have the sound the inline's have otherwise they would destroy anything

  • haha thats just a matter of taste xD

nothing better than a Ducati L-twin`s roar in my opinion

  • Yeah I know , my mechanics used to say inline 4's sounds like a screaming gay... And I used to say that Ducatis used to sound like a roaring tractor hehe Yeah it is a matter of taste. Still I can get familiar with the desmodici sound it's quite good :P

  • which is better... v4 engine like this bike or the inline four like most of the japanese superbike has? what's the differents? would someone tell me?

  • Not much difference between inline and V... The V might be more compact though, or the other way around.

  • For what it's worth, I think the v4 sounds better.

  • The long of the short of it is torque. An inline 4 only produces power at very high rpms. Where the V4 has a much wider power range . Again this is a very watered down explanation. Their rc30 (700cc v4 ) was soo successfull it was banned for racing. The v4 configuration takes the best attributes from a twin (torque) and the best attributes from an inline 4 (high rpm redline) .

  • oops , by their I mean Honda.

  • v4 would have more grunt, in-line would rev higher nd have more hp! only very roughly though, but thats the basic difference

  • The difference depends on the firing order of the engines. Ducatis Desmo V4 has a motoGP fire order, the cylinders fire in "pairs" when in an inline they fire one ater each other. This may sound like it makes a huge difference, but no it doesnt. The bike may lose about 5 horsepowers on top but it gains a little tourque. I would think that the aprilia aswell has a fireorder pretty close to the ducati. But I'm not sure.

  • Sorry bout that one, I was completely wrong about the ducati desmo, howere the bikes don't have the typical firing order of normal inline fours, that I am sure of

  • At the start of the video, does he need to take a piss?? anyway,, nice video and great info.

  • Aprillia with RSV4 has a big improvement over the old rsv1000r made

  • i'd rather an mv augusta f4

  • yeah id have an f4 as well there nice bikes

  • I Still would rather have a 2009 R1

  • And I would rather have my GSXR thou K7 after my appauling experiences with Aprilia and the servicing of them.... BLOODY AWFUL!!!!

  • Lovely bike.. but 20,000 EURO is $27,550 (U.S.)! Oh well... If I never get the chance to own a Ferrari, I suppose an Italian Superbike is almost as good. ;)

  • correct:D

  • damn.

my hopes and dreams = crushed. lol

  • nice bike,i still like the bmw s2100 RR looks wise and it has 190hp.

  • If theres one thing i've learnt you never buy a bike based on its looks. As they say, dont judge a book by its cover.

  • Beautiful Bike but @15.000 pound = 22.600 USD ...wow ..thats alot of Money for a sport bike

  • Still less than a desmo.

  • I'll buy a bloody helmet camera for the guys. since the credit crunch they cannot afford it anymore. i guess

  • ahahahah, you are really crazy to hear that amazing engine reving. i see you everywere talking about the wind lol. i´m with you, though

  • I wouldn't spend fifteen grand on one of these, although it is worth it. I ride for economy, not performance.

  • 108 hp. fuck that i wouldnt waste the money

  • 180 hp mate

  • wow. only the desmodeci rr can beat that power or the mv agusta.

  • oh damn i misunderstood what he said. i take that back its def got what it takes

  • haha easy mistake :D

  • I['m not a fan of the rear of the bike or the middle front light which ruin the looks and specially that middle front light which makes it look goofy.

  • Yet again, the vocals are in mono and not stereo. You are putting all the vocals on the left channel.

Seriously, get a clue. You can record one channel and make it stereo in post processing in two minutes. It makes the audio better. Use stereo, it is 2009 not 1909.

  • rain rain...pojebana pogoda

  • Nice bike review would have been great if they edited out the Crappy Rain cam.

  • Yeah; the rain must be a British thing.

  • how is the rain a british thing if the description says: MCN's Michael Neeves tests the new Aprilia RSV4 at the world launch at Misano, Italy.

he says it in the beginning aswell so it aint a british thing

  • I meant liking a video of rain is a British thing. A reference to their weather.

Didn't mean to offend your patriotism, if I struck a nerve with that comment. It was just a quip!

  • hayabusa's are overrated, point blank period

  • cheap as u like though..

  • rz is amazing!

  • bradman158

Completely different class of bike dude.

The RSV4 would dust a 'busa on the track.

'Busa's are great for customizing and showing off your bling on bike-night @ your local hang-out or to tune for the quarter-mile.

But how much time would you spend @ 200mph on the freeway?

'Busa's heavy and very stable at insane speeds in straight line, but do not have the agility to keep up in the twistys or on the track.

  • Give me a bike that is fun under 160km/hr. Top speed is irrelevant away from the racetrack.

  • i'd love to hear one of these next to a 2009 r1... i wonder which would sound better?

  • The Aprilia ofc. The R1 would sound just like all other jap inline 4's.

  • have you not heard one? it sounds nothing like the other jap 1000cc inline4's!

it's all cos of the camshaft or something, t sounds amazing though i'd have to hear the two of them side by side to pick a winner

  • It does? Hmm better check it out then!

  • Checked it out now. It did sound amazing for a 4-cyl imline engine. Cool!

  • R1 has flat plane crank makes it fire like a v4. Sounds great but a real v4 is sweeter and 'nuttier'. The Yam is gruff and angry. Hard to describe.

  • maybe it's cos the R1 pistons, chambers, valves, conrods, flywheel etc are all just that bit more refined (i.e. the R1 engine was designed to make massive horsepower but a VFR is not)

  • The Aprilia, which is what we are discussing, puts out 170hp.

One is a real V4 and the other simulated. Both are high performance and refined. The Aprilia maybe more so.

  • it's just a bit out of my price range lol

  • im sorry, but a short question... is it 1000ccm or 1200?

  • its 1000cc 4 cilinder

  • its not 1000 or 1200 rsv4?????????? rsv 450cc

  • Comment removed

  • just "Aprilia RSV4"

    It's the replacement for the rsv 1000 factory (and "R") it's a 65° V4 999,6cc

  • its because the engine is a v4 configuration einstein!!!!!

  • SICK!!!!!

  • APRILLA RULESSZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • D16-RR and Aprilia RSV4-R Maybe road test competition?

  • beautiful bike

  • is there ever a warm sunny day in Europe,....

  • are all there gonna work properly say for 10 years?? :P !! i like japs more

  • ahahaha yea man!!

  • really lioke the look of the aprilla but i'll be keeping my k7 1000 another year atleast

  • 'push it to its limit'??? Yeah right

  • I,ll wait a couple of years and pick one up for a couple of grand.

  • Nice to see you've sorted out your production quality. I stopped watching the channel for a while because the poor quality was irritating. Good work.

  • i don't really like the front lights of the bike but the rest is nice. the exhaust is pretty nice for a stock one i must say. and atleast it has proper brakes:)

  • Aprilia did it again!!! This is the most stunning bike of '09.....

  • it's nice!!1

  • beautiful

  • v4 engines sound badass i love my v45 sabre

  • 2:04 haahaa

  • This thing looks nice and sounds awesome. Hope it turns out to be a good bike. I may have a new bike I need to get.

  • I love the Smile on the sliders! ( 0.54 )

  • If it breaks down as often as any of the SVX5.5 I wouldn't take it if it was free...

  • That bike won the FIM supermoto world championship. Must be doing something right.

  • price aint to bad compared to other italian bikes. and its only 4K more then those crapy looking japanese bikes... And trust me this bike is just as reliable as a suzuki, yamaha enz enz. --> And aprilia is SBK champion for 27 times, and this will continue that succes. Mark my words!!!

  • "And trust me this bike is just as reliable as a suzuki, yamaha enz enz."

1st off, what does "enz enz" mean?

2nd - For a brand new bike that has spent 0 minutes on real roads in real conditions, making a statement about its reliability is utterly moot. It has no track record, no history - you would need to wait a year or two to make a statement like that.

    3rd - crappy has two p's.

    4th - Couldn't MCN spring for a sunnier locale?

    That is all.

  • I used to own a RSV 1000 R and If this bike is as reliable as that bike, then it is just as reliable as the japanese bikes. Reliability usually tends to be inherited from old desing to new desing.

  • sorry i meant to say 1. etc etcetera

    2. i expect the bike to be off the same quality as the RSVmille, im trying to get rid off the unreliable status off all new italian bike's (and cars for that matter) .

    3. you try to write in Dutch without grammer mistakes... oke? (anyway you get the point when i say crapy...)

  • Aprilla should make a 2 stroke again. My friends loved it for city driving.

  • Did i hear right?, 20,000 euros?, i dont think so, i like the italians but their up their own arse when it comes to pricing their bikes/cars, italian bikes are overpriced and unreliable, jap bikes are better anyway

  • I completely agree that italian bikes are too pricey and unreliable, BUT italian bikes (and cars) have soul and passion when you ride them, also, like this, most have very very good quality parts as standard. If i were to have a sunday bike, it'd definetly be an italian. But i would never rely on one to commute!

  • Spot-on.

  • Jap bikes are cheap because they're made by robots in factories, tens of thousands at a time.

You get what you pay for.

  • Yes they are, and still they are bullet proof, the italians put all those hours into making them hand made and still they break down and fall apart, if it's not jap its scrap!

  • 20 bucks says you've never even rode an Aprilia.

They are every bit as reliable as Jap bikes, and have a lot more craftsmenship.

  • i rode a friends aprilia rs 125, to be honest it handles well for a small bike, but he cant ride it in the rain due to it breaking down from electrical problems, id prefer 20 euros please, dollers arent worth shit

  • pfft... whatever. italian bikes and cars are well known for unreliability. italians are all about fashion over function. although to be fair... 90% of italian bikes are still on the road. (but the rest made it home) so smurf022 i agree.. japanese bikes ftw

  • I ride my Aprilia RSV Mille for 5 years now and never had any problem with it.

The Mille is known for reliabilty, guess you dont read roadtests.

Saying italian bikes arent reliable is bullshit made up by JAP-owners.

Guess with manufactures had have callback actions because there bikes were no good ;)

    I rest my case

  • well.... honda got also perfect qualitity

  • We are all over 6 foot; whats wrong with bike manufacturers?? MAKE BIGGER BIKES??

  • Oi, I'm only 5' 7" !! :)

  • couldnt agree more

most 16 year olds are 6 ft lol

  • 14k? no thanks

  • engine sound's so smooth, beautiful looking too, only prob as alway's with italian bike's, price

  • wanted to know how it compares to the r1. hope there is one which will compare it to the r1 in good weather

  • too bad that the weather is not good enough to push the bike...

  • ¡Sí, MIGUEL ÁNGEL GALLUZZI, argentino, latinoamericano!

Sorry, i just love his bikes. Some other bikes by him are:

    - Ducati Monster I

    - Husqvarna SM 610

    - Aprilia 850 Mana

    - Aprilia 750 Shiver

    - Aprilia FV2

    - Cagiva Raptor

Too bad we latinamericans can't buy these bikes over here...

  • Is this the sister company of Ducati?

  • Only in so far as it is Italian. Otherwise it is a rival.

  • put it up against dame edna (R1)

  • Hi guy's I'm from Italy, this bike is sale here for 20.000 euro for the version R. Aprilia made a really good job for this bike he is the base for the superbike model fighting for the World Superbike Chapionship whit Max Biaggi and Shinya Nakano

  • The price will NOT be around 40000$ exchange rate is only 1,3 and usually us bikes are cheaper than european bikes so it will probably be around 22000-25000$

  • italian motorbike = the best

  • Yeah, like for the cars ;)

  • For all its limitations, I appreciated that they didn't drown the V4 audio with passe rock anthems.

  • agreed............

  • not a bad price really

  • how much is that in US dollars?
