What the hell could they have done with her? When she was on the show she really didn't have a distinct personality. She was just THERE! Just like Sandy, but at least with Rhonda they had the gumption to at least recognize the fact that she existed after she left. After Sandy was written off the show, she was never mentioned or brought up again. It would be kinda weird of they brought Sandy back in the new Melrose Place.

it is implied that matt died since he was standing at the top of the stairs by amanda's apartment. however, this is part of an alternate universe that i have made up in which rhonda is still a character on the show passed the first season. matt is of course in custody at this point for a framed murder, the matt we see here is a look-a-like who is meddling in rhonda's affairs. rhonda was standing on the stairs which blew up, but i can safely tell u that she survived and is in a coma for now.
