@pearcemark2 stern had been appearing for years on letterman discussing his "shock jock" show and was number one in nyc as well as ron bennington's hometown of philadelphia at the time this aired. this is a news story about local shock jocks, i think it's safe to assume these guys had heard of the biggest shock jock in the country.

@pearcemark2 oh you're right. these guys who worked in radio for years as shock jocks had never heard anything by the #1 shock jock in the world. i've never heard of anything outside of where i live either. i'm sure ron didn't hear ANY radio outside of his small area in florida. he never visited home at all during the 3 years between this news segment and stern going on the air daily in philadelphia.
When he was on vacation, away from his job, visiting relatives in Philly, he'd go "SHUT UP EVERYONE HOWARD IS ON, I NEED TO DO HOMEWORK FOR WHEN I GET BACK TO FLORIDA!!!"?
