For some odd reason, I tend to like the first song on an album better than the rest. And in the case of The Soft Parade, it still holds true. I got this album yesterday for Christmas to finish off my Doors collection. "Tell All the People," is probably my favorite Doors' tune! Following it is "Not to Touch the Earth," "Moonlight Drive," and "Peace Frog."
@catastrpoheballet101 p.s i mean dangerous from the view point of the powers that be and to impressional young fans who took the doors words as the gospel. He did write the song The soft parade though and mostly the rest of the album. Peace, =0)
@catastrpoheballet101 He didn't write Tell all the peeople or Wishfull sinfull, Robby wrote them both and if you look at the album credits you will see the songs are credited to only Robby unlike other songs wich were written by Jim and credited to Thr doors. This song was to "Anti establishment" for Jim and he wanted no part in the credits. "Cant you see me growing get your guns" Follow me", those are very anti government and promote revolution which can be very dangerous. Wicked songs though.
@DrTtape52 por esta kancion kuando la escucho mi familia me pregunta kien esel kantante y al saber kien es me dicen ke chingona esta . y le s digo ke es del año 1968 y no me kreen pero ahi esta el legado forever jim
1 of the best doors songs ..yet there is so many ...robbie really shines in his song writin ...dont forget he wrote their 1st number 1 ....light my fire..and a host of other top tunes...morrison was the best .....r.i.p jim ..wish u cud be still around ...its sad that so many brilliant artists are now entertaining god......
@superelbeaner Yeah i know but he had a lot more input on The soft parade and was solely credited cos Jim didn't like the lyrics or the message behind this song as it was to "Anti establishment". But yeah he wrote Light my fires first verse and jim wrote "Love become a funeral pyre".
Jim Morrison sucks hes a drunk he had no talent Bull fucking shit you call this no talent i'd like to see your Call of Duty addicted ass become as talented as the Lizard King. Who cares if he was wasted or high he sang poetry in motion. not many popular artists do that themselves.
@villiparis jim morrison died on the night the first time he did heroin but it was not due to heroin OD it was because he had been drinking non stop for 7 years

Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
I think this was one of their best albums ... if not my favourite, nothing lost in talent whatsoever in fact the music seems to be OUT OF THIS FUCKIN` WORLD!!! just my humble opinion. cheers to Jim
@GamecubeLPs Agreed! Such a good album. It's hard to pick a fave, but this is a big contender. So much soul and cool. I wasn't born when it came out, but it seems to be a bit ahead of its time at parts. They definitely do it different with this one.
@GamecubeLPs Me too. I think its better than Waiting For The Sun or Morrison Hotel and I like them also. Soft Parade track is one of my fav Doors songs (esp. when drunk)
@GamecubeLPs cuz they changed a few things, added a bassist put some horns in and altered their sound a little, but im with you this album is so good, doors are great
@GamecubeLPs This album had a lot of poem-based songs. Since, as Jim and Ray always would say, rock was turning into a show and people wanted fast, loud music so people disliked this. I always find this odd since Jim was a poet and the reason Ray liked his music was becuz of the deep meaning put into these songs. Oh well, like now people just didn't see the beauty in music.
A lot of people slated this album but I still think its superb, the arrangements are superb and there is at least 3 or 4 classic songs on it.....Tell all the people
claro k no pero jim es jim y bueno bumbury a sacado uno k otro refrito d cancion a no son tributos y jim no jim eras pfffffffffff no no no wapo y con esa voz k woooooooooooow
I love the arrangements on this song, and Touch Me, but I just can't help feeling this was a band without an idea of who it was and where it wanted to go. The production is so thick, in fact, the Doors nearly disappear underneath the weight of it. Thankfully they didn't continue in this vein and got their act together on Morrison Hotel and especially L.A. Woman.
