Wow. Now I really cant wait for my copy of The Paper Engine to arrive. After the one hand pop over and Search and Destroy, I'm always looking forward to the next Aaron Fisher dvd. Its not only because of the neat effects, but the teaching is great, it makes me laugh and gives me ideas for performances.
GREAT effects! I've read Paper engine several times, and I must say these are probably my favourite effects, the only competition is probably search and destroy.
However they work so well together, with a bit of smooth setup and dtching you can use them together a'la biarre twist, and the only hypervisuality search and destroy lacks these have.
Really nice!! looks awesome...I couldnt help noticing but theres a huge difference between the spreads at 00:49 and 00:53...Is the first one a different kind of spread or just a neater one?
Now that is a fine illusion. And a nice piece of Marketing. I like your sofa also.
I'm looking at this for a conclusion to the AMC. I usually lead into a 2 card Monte and having a card swap around like that will enhance the next part of the routine.
Good morning from London. What I love about Aaron Fisher"s magic lessons, apart from the build-up, is that it delivers what it says on the tin. Strong magic effects that stop audiences in their tracts and I dont have to give up the day job to learn them.
Aaron's magic is highly visual and fun to do. I've been a huge fan of his for years since first seeing him lecture several years ago. I have The Paper Engine, his two DVDs, and some of his older lecture notes and VHS videos. Search & Destroy is one of the most powerful card tricks I've ever seen. I can't wait to see the new stuff he has come up with. Jerry Andrus was a good friend of mine, and it was really cool to see a photo of Jerry on the video. Thanks for sharing your magic, Aaron!!!
A book that every magician should read and own. I personally hate to see a dvd with this beautifull material out of the PA, but it is what this shitty world need, since no one reads magic books any more...
I really want to get into working performing magic...will this new DVD give me some helpful advice and things that are good to know for the working magician?
I think it's great that you use the campers in your video. I look forward to getting the DVD. Here's a question, In your e-mail, you say "it takes the most visual magic from The Paper Engine and eliminates the difficult sleight of hand." Does that mean that you've changed the handling of both effects?
An amazing effect from an amazing book. Looking forward to checking this out and hopefully hearing some more of your storytelling on the DVD. As a special education teacher, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on teaching magic to students in high school.
As a 64 year old man with neuropathy in my fingertips I'm afraid I am not that enamored of angly move-ey "visual" magic. Even if someone at your level of skill says he has taken the difficulty out of it. Everything is relative. Too bad as I have most of the OOP Marlo material but my "chops" are gone. So I have to go "chopless" I'm afraid. Best wishes to all the youngsters at the camp may you go far in magic.
This is an awesome thing, the paper engine has to be the most fantastic book of modern magic. I would like to know how he has taken all of the difficult slight of hand from these effects? I have tried many of the the effects in the paper engine, they are difficult, but that is why we try them. Mike
I know that our technique should continue to improve as we perform, but we should work on doing it well before we are under fire. How long do you personally practice something before showing it publically? Also what's the longest you have worked on an established move (i.e. one already well defined not one you were creating) before showing it?
Love the Helter Skelter routine...I loved it in the book and it looks great! All the best man, and keep up the incredible magic! Can't wait for the DVD! BTW the podcast with Denny was the best...he's one of my heroes in magic!
Was Jerry Andrus part of the inspiration? I see that you put a picture of him in the trailer. He helped me early on because he founded, and was a regular participant at the magic club that I go to.
One of the best thing I've done in card magic? Picking up a copy of the Paper Engine. If I didn't care about the advancement of the magic as an art, I'd never advise people to pick it up, cause it's that good and I want it for myself and myself only.
I was with You on Saturday in Argentina, and I am practising and enjoying very much. Thank you very much for the wonderful things that it gave us in the magic day.
DUUUUDDDEEE! After listening to Aarons podcast I am more informed and more confident I am headed in the right track as a young magician. I trust his knowledge and that is why if I don't win the contest (fingers crossed!) I will probably buy this dvd anyhow! Great work Aaron FISHER! P.S. My best friends last name is fisher too!
I have a problem with the top change. I tend to pull back many more than one card with the flesh of my thumb. Any suggestions? I am really looking forward to getting the DVD because every DVD I have purchased from you before has been GOLD.
After the last Junto session at Grand Illusions, you showed me, my mom, and a few others a lot of awesome effects. This is one that has stuck with me for 4-5 months (I don't know how long ago it was). I need to pick up a copy of The Paper Engine because I really want to learn this. Is it easy?. Will you sign it if I ever run into you? I feel very privileged that I got to see you perform live.
Thank you for putting so much time into your magic.
I bought search and destroy with a heavy heart, thinking that it would be another waste of 30 bucks, like I bought a million times before. However, I was pleasantly surprised, as it was worth every last penny. That inclined me to purchase Panic, which again I had my doubts on. And The One Handed PopOver DVD. 3 times I have been pleasantly surprised by Aaron, and I am positive this will be no exception, and no contradiction of his quality in instruction and magic. Aaron Fisher rocks!!
@aaronbfisher No problem. Loved the book. Oh I meant to talk to you. I messaged you on facebook a few months ago about a sleight I made. You said you'd give some feedback but I didn't hear back. Understandable, you're a busy guy but I was wondering if you'd still like to see it?
This is my favorite effect from the Paper Engine. The fact that Aaron is going to release this in DVD format makes me extremely happy. I can't wait to find out exactly what he was thinking when doing this effect
