I respect your credentials as having almost saved lives, but I believe you should study how to treat traumatic injuries before teaching everybody to do the wrong things. Giving the victim fluids will help ease them out of shock and help slow the adrenaline and decrease their heart rate. If they are victim to internal bleeding, not only will fluids ease the blood flow but may save their life.

Fresh water is one of the most basic human needs. Most people don't think to carry water in their vehicle when they travel but you should. I keep 4 qts of bottled water in the jack compartment of my Honda Passport at all times, rotate it out with fresh yearly. If I was going through desert I'd make that 4 gallons.

Looks like warm weather, maybe even hot. If that rider is injured no sense compounding the problem with dehydration. Kudos to these guys for having presence of mind to do that.

Hey watching this again (and having fallen down at speed before) I think I may know what's going on. See how the guy's jeans are torn at his left knee, and the puddle under there, with guy with the soda bottle? If he's got road rash or an otherwise open wound incurred with ground contact, pouring water on it to clean off the dirt and bits of gravel before the skin scabs up is a HUGE benefit, saves a much more painful removal hours later if dried. PSA #2!
