  • wah mere bhaio kyaa baat hai bohoth maza hai i just had to post a coment wahhh i love your music wish i was close to you

  • Does anyone know whether a painted treble head on a dholak will change the way it sounds? I am trying to buy a dholak but someone said that the treble head has a painting on it and I am wondering whether or not that will change the way it sounds.

  • I think that would be a naal, Idk Im probably wrong

  • yeah its a naal.. it sounds much different, it would have a higher pitch and a slightly longer ring to it

  • teen taal on dholki...very nice!

  • u just gottta fix the base side

  • it looks like a scale changer.... paul and co? or something like a bina

  • its a bina lol

  • good job

  • lol thanks

  • lol thanks, yah that dholaks a peice of crap, the masala is messed

  • u can tell thats Panjab gharana style from the keherwa... defo not westindian - they arent too much interested in teentaal on dholak anyhoo! (I prefer westindian dholak tho ^_^ )

  • ahh lol no thanks

  • hey! wow nice jamming there!

im also a dholak player myself

    love the instrumental

    u should post more!

    peace

  • you are both great, so good t see Indians in Fiji playing , brings back fond memeories of family gatherings. You made me really teary

  • we play punjab gharana

  • actually im from fiji and my buddy is from india lol

  • I would imagine these brothers are from Trinidad or Surinam, Their culture is deep rooted, but they should try to learn from proffesional musicians from some gharana in India, this willl surely enhance their ability to perform...As a Trinidadan I am taking voice lessons from a disciple from Pundit Jasraj Ji. And I have just gotton a taste as to what is a trained singer and musician, I am 60 years old and its never to late, continue to preserve our rich culture, Sita Ram

  • i play dhollak 2 but iam a teacher:P

  • Oh there is too much masaala inside the dhaama thats why its not coming like a dholak but its coming like a dumb dha sound I am sure if you clean the skin with the water and use about 25% less masaala inside it will sound very loud Because too much masaala is holding the dhama from vibrating but its not big deal..........Keep up the good work.

  • dha dhin dhin dha dha dhin dhin dha ta tin tin taa ta dhin dhin dhinaa,

He is using a tirkat like kehrwa and he end up like kehrwa which sound good,Hats off to you guys,

teen taal is 16 beats but you can use kehrwa which is 8 beats of 4 beats in dugaaan good show guys,I love you

    Regards

    An Artist in Canada

  • Very nice playing but there is something not right about the dholak sound. Maybe its the quality of the recording but there is a high 'raspy' metal clanking that seems quite strange. Also I find it interesting you play it on your lap... I think maybe you would get better sound out of it playing it from the ground.

  • thanks for the comment, yeah the recordings crap lol...if you play on your lap you get a better ring instead of on the ground where it is closed not my style..learned this from many years of experience... its also the way i was taught

  • WONDERFUL, JUST SUPERB

    QUITE ENJOYABLE.

    rose r

  • hey thats pretty good! holy shit leave them alone, atleast they try and don't just sit on their asses all day playing video games like most guys do these days

  • every drummer is a hero.....i only says this cuz i play a dholak myself :D

  • rockin hard mannn

  • iight u could play. . . da only thing u got on me is da rollin thing. . .

  • who r u some fukin shit on the street doing nothing

  • wahhhh kya music haiii....

  • lol yah i guess, thanks for your feekback

  • I love the drone of the harmonium in the second session. Don't mind the other coolies' comments on this, lol. We're just accustomed to a different style, obviously.

  • A chutney version would be awesome! Amazing rythm, I really like it!

  • this video is hot.can u guys make a new one i wanna hear more. like a good classical chutney or something.

  • surrey b.c.

  • heyy whereabouts are you guys in canada? i'd love to join ur jam sessions

  • lol... the harmonium was wicked dude without that... the dholak wouldnt have been the same

  • I'm lovin the dholak. The harmonium... yeah... how bout we toss that out. Lol

  • kya baat keep it up

  • u r correct especially we trinidadians! lol

  • Wow. You must be a good tabla player too.

  • these guys are pretty good.

  • sounds good

  • yes yes that was some heavy shit man!!! u guys are kind of good...where you guys from, liked the way you started off and did your thing well edone lads!!!

  • ohi man you are a god of dholak excellent stuff. can you make some samples that would really good

  • k thanks for your feedback

  • i play my own style...i dont have to play a certain taal, you play whatever fits..theres nothing set you have to play

  • i dont like your discussions.. because you say the same thing over and over again... in order to discuss.. u gota know about the instrument first.. by the way you talk you don't know jack about it

  • Dude clearly you all don't like discussions about music. I'm not writing anything for you to like it?! So peace out!!

  • That's true Insanedholi... it's different..

Tntlilpimp.haha..Ok Steelpan and Tassa I can believe that..But the best baithak gana players(especially dhol)come from Surinam my friend. In T&T it almost seems like you forgot to play baithak only chutney songs(don't get me wrong because it's very good). But a chutney hand is a whole different thing than a when you play baithak. And indeed Njnang Baka bana was the biggest chutney hit of the caribean ( back then).

  • alright i get ur drift, driece, dude u gotta understand that indian dolak is not the same thing as carribean.. u gotta judge them differently.. u cant just put two together and have a battle.. cuz indian is meant to be played one way and carribean a diff way.. u cant really compare.. u probably prefer the carribean style...i prefer the india style.. it all depends on what u prefer

  • awesome

  • Insanedholi I'm not dissin you in any way..If yo feel offended in any way, my apologieszz.. Seelawa..I'm not talkin about the history of the music. But of the quality of the Dhol players in Surinam, T&T and Guyana. The discussion of history will be a long one. So I'll leave that.. Jai Surinaam ,aur bhi Trinidad Jindabaad..

  • dude, why are u so cocky.. ur gonna get shut up one day

  • No disrespect this is very good!! Buttttt..if you hear the Surinam baithak gana and chutney dhol style...Guyana and Trinidad can't compete with that and they know this..

  • Driece,

the only thing Surinam has on us is that most of you can still speak Bhojpuri (aili-gaili), otherwise, we taught you guys singing and drumming back in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Learn your history. Trinidad Jindabaad, aur bhi, Jai Surinam! :)

  • buddy bring it on...you cant do shit

  • y do you ask?

  • Do you guys know Sai Baba?

  • The Dholak battle between India and Suriname...hmm.. I know Suriname will win it for sure.

  • This is crazy man I really liked it dholak was top class keep bringing more like this!
